Headlines: Prats hurts as Krishna regrets marrying her. Takurain and KN taunt Prats as Krishna watches in silence. A replay of Krishna telling Prats to stop the pretense of caring for him. Shamu visits Takurs to explain Mathurs's condition for Arushi's wedding and makes an insensitive request.
When Krishna has something to say everyone at the Niwas takes notice and listens. That seems to be the case today too when he hollers and wakes up the whole family except for Ganti Dadi🥱. Flashback to Feb 11 when he hollered the same way to get his entire family's attention! That day he slashed his wrists in an attempt to force his bauji to concede and give in to his wish to marry Pratigya. Today it was to vent ''"You were right, I should never have married her". Krishna announces to his family " Her family has said SS family member cannot come to Arushi's wedding". Bechara, was expecting to play bada damadh and be treated like one and now this. SS is enjoying this moment like a cat that got the milk and so are Amma and KN exchanging glances in glee. "With a clear heart I happily did God knows what, all for them and today I have to hear this. Can't take the humiliation, bending over backwards anymore, my head is about to explode. Enough!" SS and SDS share a satisfied glance. Today their wish is fulfilled when they finally hear the words they have yearned to hear from his lips for a very long time.
Prats pleads with Krishna to lend her a ear but he is all done listening. "The only person who will be listening is your father" he tells Prats in the presence of his family. It's showtime as far as Krishna is concerned now. "I am done listening, now see who is going to have fun. Listening has brought me to this state all bec' of your family. It's your father who is going to be listening". He clicks his fingers and announces that the time for change has come. Sounds more like a politican slogan. All this is like music to RED's ears, they couldn't have asked for a better midnight surprise. With that said, and true to his nature Krishna storms out of the Niwas and spends the night away from Prats. Who would have thought this day would come again so soon! Baba runs circles around his Babu and can't keep his hands off her or he shuts her out completely'two extremes. Prats ends up on the floor and cries her heart out in pain, deeply hurt by his words. This was Krishna's version of her hurtful words to him on their SR1. Takurs return to their rooms for a restful night's sleep with triumphant smiles beaming on their faces. They believe they have finally slain the witch and won their Baba back into the family fold. As far as they are concerned, it's Mission Accomplished. NOT! Just a hiccup in a unique love story! Baba will soon reconcile with his Babu.
Krishna returns home after daybreak. The family sans Sajjan Singh are gathered around the table for breakfast. Amma uses this opportunity to make inroads with her son and ensure she has him firmly on their side. She seats him next to her and insists on feeding him while filling his ears with poisonous words aimed at fanning flames of his fury at Prats and her family. GD is an avid listener and expresses her mockery at Takurain's sanctimonious sentiments. KN joins in to rebuke Prats for spilling milk on the floor. Through all of this Krishna glances at Prats once yet maintains his silence. Flashback to the day Takurain brought Baba a glass of milk in his room and used the opportunity to repeat similar sentiments to Baba about Prats as he listened to her in silence only to stop her with "where is Pratigya?" Both Baba and Babu were hurting, what will it take to get them to get past the hurt and pain and have the long overdue honest heart to heart conversation?
A new day begins and Dadi warns Shamu to think before saying anything to an unpredictable SS. Nainaji wants to accompany him to the Niwas but Shamu halfheartedly assures her he can handle it on his own. What did Nainaji think she will accomplish by her presence at the Niwas that Shamu cannot muck up on his own? He has successfully botched it all up effortlessly time and again. Well, we shall see! Somehow it's not very convincing coming from Shamu given the many times he has created mayhen in his children's marriages due to his choices from the get go.
Prats plays the dutiful wife and busies herself getting Krishna's attire ready for him. She, in her usual way is making attempts to reach out to him but Krishna responds by tossing the shirt away as he often rejects her efforts when he is angry with her. Prats, tum bi na! you gave him the wrong color shirt. Look he just picked a blue shirt to match your saree this time too. It's back to the wide canal between them like the days before electrocution when he doubted her motives for treating him well. This time he voices the reasons for his anger "You want to pretend to do your wifely duties and show that you care and there your father is insulting me time and again, sometimes inviting me over to insult me and other times coming here to insult me. All dramabaaz! He hollers to Piasiya and asks her to sew the button on his shirt. What was once an intimate moment between Baba and Babu was now outsourced to Piasiya of all people. Boy O Boy! Baba is intense when he expresses his emotions to Babu be it love, anger or his attempts to hurt her feelings when he is hurting. How true the saying, you can only give what you have in you at any given moment.
RED are hanging out in situation room. Shamu hovers at the entrance and gingerly saunters into the house. Takurain starts on her usual jeering and SS shuts her up in his usual way. Some things never change! Shamu cautiously begins "What happened that day at the engagement shouldn't have happened and I ask for forgiveness". SS plays magnanimous host "I am older and I don't hold on to these things, I let it go". Shamu haltingly explains "Mathur's job, he is a police officer and as a public figure it puts him in the limelight. Because of this and the work that you do he feels, he says you and your family not be present at Arushi's wedding". Takurs already know of it, but watching Shamu squirm while he repeated it seems to entertain them.
Queen of Mean begins her taunts "Very good. Now you got your new samandhi you have started hitting us with your joota. Takurain, you are confusing this man with your mard SS. "You have found a new samandhi from your own caste and raised your stature". KN adds his two paise worth about the Takur stature compared to Mathurs not being any less only to have SS snap at both of them to shut up. Just then Krishna saunters and stands by Prats. Is his anger already cooling off just a smidgen?😳😉 SS tells them "if they don't want to invite us to the wedding then should they be forced to do so? He adds his own back-handed insults to Shamu. "But this is not right, you are educated and you are giving importance to caste". Shamudenies SS's claim "I am not doing that. I am ashamed bec' what is happening is not right. Don't think I'm with the Mathurs bec' he is of my caste. But it's my daughter marriage, we have to accept samandhi's condition. Shamu is spineless. He is so weak he can't swing a joota in the air long enough to hit anyone with it.
With folded hands Shamu asks "I have a request if you don't take it the wrong way. There is it comes, a proverbial foot in the mouth comment. "My family feels if Prats is given permission to attend Arushi's marriage, then we'd be happy". Krishna turns to look at Prats accusation apparent in his eyes. Prats looks him in the eye and her expression when she turned to look at her father was different this time. Was Prats finally seeing her father as a falliable man who didn't have all the answers? He had openly insulted her sasural and her husband with his request. If there ever was a slap in the face that could be heard around the world this is it. Is this Prof. for real? Is he that clueless and insensitive? As a Prof. he could cause more harm to those young students he teaches at the University with this attitude. Could there ever be such an insensitive statement from the heart? Even if he had forgotten or wanted to when he came to that house truth is his damadh was standing right next to Prats, so why did he blatantly exclude him in that invitation? If not education what was his reason for rejecting and insulting Krishna ever so often. What did Aman have that Krishna lacked besides education and the social etiquette that came from it. Shamu bent over backwards to free Jai from jail all to get Arushi married into that family. Did he ever consider everything Krishna has done for Prats and them expecting nothing in return. All he wanted was acceptance and love from them. Compared to Aman what Krishna has done for the Saxes is immeasurable. He saved their daughter's life by sucking the poison. He gave moral support and a shoulder to lean on for the entire family when Adarsh was in the hospital. He was hospitable and made sure they were fed and taken care of during that crisis. He always saw them as family but Prof. and his family always rejected his unconditional love and support to them all bec' of his lack of education?😲
Preview: SDS speaks on behalf of the Takur family "After all the insults you have piled on our family, I speak on behalf of all of us to tell you that from this day forward no one in this family will set foot on your doorstep". Does this also mean you don't plan on seeing your bitiya Komal anytime soon? Her marriage is for all purposes on the rocks right now. Were she to call would you will you have her return to the Niwas and get her marriage annulled? Relationships are sticky at times and don't have clearcut solutions. If there ever was a classic moment to show that education alone doesn't maketh the man this is it. Prof. gets pleasure from making his children's lives miserable. He has meddled in it more often than not with his ridiculous choices and idealistic opinions. Where was his poetry in action today when he quoted it to Prats? His life with Nainaji is filled with hain ji, Nainaji and so dull and boring. Is he getting his thrills screwing up his children's marriages? Adarsh like a blind man is following his father's path without thinking about Komal or how it would affect Prats's marriage. Is Prof. using Prats as his guinea pig to test his idealistic views? He gives these big speeches about standing for the truth and what not and we are yet to see which of his ideals has he put into practice to date. He told Nainaji don't worry I'll handle it. Is this his idea of handling it? Where was he when the two sambandhis were going head to head at the engagement? Even after Krishna challenged him then he took the coward's way out.
Was Prof. being honest to SS when he claimed he didn't show favoritism to the Mathurs bec' of their caste and education? Is it about bragging rights....being related to Mathurs would give him a better standing in society and he would reclaim some of his lost respect in Mumfordgunj? Why exactly is he pampering and indulging Aman in a way he has never done with Krishna after all these months of his marriage to Prats. Any offers to Krishna were almost always done with a reluctance. Does loving his daughter not include respecting her husband as well? Krishna has stepped up to defend them time and again and none of the Saxes seem to value and accept him as part of the family in spite of it.
Y'day when Prats walked out of her parents house and said make sure the marriage takes place, I inferred that she was also saying '..meet your conditions, get her married, even if that means I don't attend. She may think she is standing by Krishna's side but he is yet to see the proof of it.Time for her to show her the strength and depth of love for Krishna the way he has proved his love for her time and again.
