I must say we think alike ... I was so overwhelmed by pooja in this week and especially yesterday that I have been going through all her interviews and articles from morning ... This kid has left everybody behind . she is acting so matured . I cant agree any more with ur thoughts on the particular occasion ... This gal has way to go .... I have become one dyehard fan of pooja .

Sonali,
Me too. I always thought she was adequete and pretty damn good sometimes, but now I really think she has matured with Pratigya. She has let the character into her, really living the part. i am amazed by the freshness of her reactions, the spontaneity and vivacity. Her timing is perfect too! I usyally never like to look at anything else if Krishna is in the frame, but for the past week, she has been so luminous, ke us se nazar nahi hat thi!

Yeah, they were both excellent. Arhaan was understated and subtle, Pooja was lava and whirlpool. Very nice.

Wali Dakhni speaks of the night of Union -

Kiyaa mujh ishq ne :zaalim ko aab aahistah aahistah
Kih aatish gul ko kartaa hai gulaab aahistah aahistah

Thus has cruel love turned me liquid, gently-gently

As does the heat of a flame turn bud to rose, gently -gently

Ajab kuch lutf rakhta hai shab-e-vasal mein dilbar suN
sawaal aahista aahista jawaab aahista aahistah

Strange pleasure is in the night of union with my beloved

Slow are the questions to which answers come gently-gently

( Wali Dakhani)

----------------------------------------------------------

The much-awaited union lasted in all about seven minutes. They had seven minutes to representation the climax of a rare love-story. A story of opposites, a story of attraction, a story of resistance, a story of acceptance, a story of surrender. Those seven minutes had to represent all these in a capsule of love's first union. It had to be a powerful representation. It had to convey the momentousness of the occasion. It had to show the power of the moment and how it was soul-altering for the people involved. I am so glad that it managed all this. I am so glad that they went for earthy, and real, rather than soft and picture 'perfect. It was passion and intensity they had to depict; there is a life-time for gentle romance!

Pratigya's serious, intense face, her anguish, her unbearable desire, her almost-angry resistance of being altered so fundamentally! Her helplessness, her attempts at self-control, her giving, her love and her surrender ' all so beautiful!

Her pale face, the weight of her clothing (which represents the weight of Lajja that society cloaks a woman with, the weight which she has to shed in order to own her womanhood, her own true nature, devoid of imposed identity), her heavy-lidded eyes, her red-red lips, her steamy hair, her dewy skin, her tiredness ' all so beautiful!

Her turning her face into the mattress, her tortured writhing, her awkward embrace, her trembling, tightening grip, her turning away and then her turning in ' all so beautiful!

His patience, his passion, his gentleness, his understanding, his love, his seduction ' all so beautiful!

May the flower and the fire (aatish-o-gul) have a some lifetimes of bliss!

Very Beautifully written post Dye...........👏👏

Thanks, Aamna! That is what I felt too. In fact after watching it so many times i am even more amazed! There was hardly anything to object or over the top if you go to see, no skin show or anything, but the scene was constructed so effectively that it managed to convey all the passion of the moment!
