It is so backwards to blame Pratigya for what Angad tried to do. Even if he forced himself on her, why is Pratigya to blame? Is she somehow an impure person because of Angad? Why isn't Angad blamed and NOT her? In other countries, people would line up for miles to have someone like Pratigya, smart and decent looking. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. End of story.

No doubt about it... it is beyond pathetic...

It's ridiculous! I am appalled at the hypocrisy that goes around in Sajjan Niwas - Shakti sleeps with prostitutes on what seems to be a daily basis instead of his wife and they all know it - he is called a true man - when they all condemn Pratigya because they think she got raped before her marriage! 😲

Yes it is sick that a women is blamed for kidnapping and rape, but the truth is that in most societies it is usually the women who is looked at with doubt and blamed no matter the situation, she is treated as the criminal even though she is the victim. The sad part is that a women must first face such a terrible situation but that is not the end of their problems because the real punishment starts when society blames her for another person's wrong doings, and she is forced to prove her innocence for something which was not her fault to begin with. Women always suffer while excuses are made for those that commit these crimes.

It is more so in older cultures that the woman is to blame. Then the family feels that she has somehow invited trouble, and opinion replaces the truth. This is the problem. If people blame women as a habit, then any would-be rapist would take this attitude as encouragement to harass and violate women. And these so-called men who do this, they are an example of bad upbringing, NOT the victims of their behavior. I simply hate it when rapists act as if the victim invited unwanted behavior when in fact, they had nothing better to do that day than go harass someone else. You would be surprised how many modern families are ready to blame their own daughers DIL, for things they are at no fault for. Yes the criminlas always have an excuse and even worse there are people willing to listen to them, while no one pays attention to the pleas of the victim. I agree these things can happen to anyone and do unfortunately the fact remains that most of the time these things are covered up for self respect, because they know the men are hardly ever blamed and life will become hell for the women.
