she knew where krishna's house was..... it had started raining heavily... she got down frm the taxi a lil distance away frm the big house and paid it off.. then she ran towards it,sheltering herself frm the torrents of rain with her hand......
a number of cars were parked outside the house....
probably theres some kind of party going on----she thot.....
bt evrythng was so still......except frm the pitter patter of raindrops...there was no other sound...... no loud music,no clatter of laughter......nothing...it was pin drop silence.......
she slowly ascended the frnt stairs and walked towards the door...she cud see many people inside....talking to each other in low tones........
as she walked towards the door,a strange kind of fear wrapped her around......she felt she cudnt move....she felt as if someone held her back forcibly........someone didnt want her to enter........ someone...........?
she took a deep breath...and pushed open the big door------krishna?????
evryone turned around at her.......
she walked forward slowly....avoiding people's gazes.....and whispers... she caught some words like "there she is","u dnt know","she is the one "......
suddenly someone grabbed her arm...she turned-------tum? yahan?
vinay------pratigya chalo mere saath...he dragged her in the opposite direction....... she protested-----par....vinay....krishna...hume krishna sem milna hain...woh achanak yahan chala aya....usne kahan kuch zaroori kam hain....kahan hain woh?
vinay avoided her questions and cntinued to pull her......
the whispers around her increased...... someone clicked his tongue sympathetically......as she walked passed him.....she cudnt understand wat was going on bt then suddenly she released her hand frm vinay's grip with a jerk....--------leave me...... she shouted......
vinay stopped.....his face became pale..-------pratigya woh......
pratigya-------just shut up.....i said just shut up.... she turned arounbd to the other people------kya ho raha hain yahan? aur....aur....krishna kahan hain? usne humse khud kaha ki woh yahan aa raha hain....to fir....aaplog hume usse milne kyun nhi de rahe hain? KAHAN HAIN WOH?
vinay cudnt take it anymore...... he caught her arm and spun her around-------tumhe krishna se milna hain na? huh? aao mere saath..... he dragged her through the crowd.......which moved apart to give them space......
he stopped near the end of the hall and pointed in frnt-------woh raha krishna.....!!!
pratigya followed his gesture and looked in the direction.......... at frst she felt she cudnt feel anythng....her whole body froze at the sight before her eyes.........then slowly her legs started to tremble like a leaf........it cudnt support her body weight and she dropped down on the cool marble floor.......
covered with a white sheet,krishna lay on the floor.....his eyes closed.....shut forevr........ the blood stains had dried up on his face,a few rugged marks cud be seen near his eyes......... thru the curtain of tears.....she cud nt well make out wat they were....perhaps she knew wat they were..... she closed her eyes and recalled her dream...... his face and his whole body was pooled in blood....it looked like as if.....as if.......he had KILLED HIMSELF MERCILESSLY............
she started to feel giddy as she heard somethng like.........
"he was like this...we knew him vry well.....wen he lost his temper..he used to turn into a beast.."
"are wo to bachpan se hi aisa tha,"an old man said, "har baat pe kitna gussa ho jata tha...kaun keh sakta tha ki kabhi apne aap par istarah......." he sobbed.........
pratigya let out a painful groan and then evrythng went black...........

rolli and vinay waited outside the ward.....rolli had arrived a few hours ago....vinay had called her up and told her the address of the hospital in wich pratigya was...... she was in the operation theatre.......
rolli was cntinuously weeping....while vinay tried to console her......
vinay----tum shant ho jao...aab sabkuch thk ho jayega..aab to pratigya mil chuki hain na?
rolli---lekin vinay....tum socho....aisa kaise ho sakta hain? he committed suicide on the same nyt she left his house....then....how cud she meet him evn after that....and...and....she evn came to delhi WITH him? tumne dekha na...tumne dekha na.....woh usse baat kar rahi thi...she was talking to him!!! bloody hell....hows it possible? do din woh yahan kiske saath thi? krishna ke saath? woh krishna jo tin din pehle mar chuka tha?
her hands turned cold at once------vinay kahi krishna.......
vinay-----just shut up rolli........kya bakwaas kar rahi ho......have u gone mad too?
rolli------lekin fir wo.....
vinay-----rolli...humne pratigya ke hotel manager se baat ki hain....usne waha khud room book ki thi...apne naam se... are yar....she loved him so much...maybe...she was just imagining him to be around her......bt u dnt wry...aab use sacchayi pata chal chuki hain na...she will be all ryt...she will be perfect...dnt wry.......
rolli was far frm being reassured------par uska woh sapna.......woh krishna ko us halat mein kaise dekh sakti hain....? that also in her imaginations? how wud she know?
before vinay cud reply,the doctor came out of the O.T. they rushed to him-------doctorsaab....pratigya thk to hain na?---asked rolli eagerly......
doctor------she is in a state of shock....bt dnt wry..she will be soon okay.....waise i need to talk to u...come over to my chamber.......
rolli and vinay followed the doctor to his chamber.... he told them to sit down and himself took his seat.....
rolli-----baat kya hain doctorsaab....?
the doctor-----dekhiye...humne uske bare mein suna.....ismein ghabrane wali koi baat nhi hain.....aisa hota hain kabhi kabhi..... ise hum hallucinations kehte hain...matlab hamari ankhen wohi dekhta hain jo hum dekhna chahte hain...... sometimes evn after death...we see the same person around her,smiling,laughing,singing...like he used to be....... these r just hallucinations....its nothing supernatural...so u dnt need to worry..... pratigya bht jald thk ho jayegi....aur ye sacchayi pata chalna uske liye bht important tha......aab use aisa kuch nhi dikhayi dega jo asal mein hain nhi...........
rolli heaved a sigh of relief and thanked the doctor...... vinay got up and shook hands with the doctor too,thanking him...... both of them came out of his chamber......luking vry relieved......

rolli stepped into pratigya's chamber slowly... there she sat.....looking outside the window...... she came over to her and sat down on the chair beside her bed...the slight noise made her turn..... she smiled------hii rolli....
rolli was glad to see her smile-----pratigya woh...tumhare ghar mein fon kar diya hain humne....uncle aunty tumhe kuch hi der mein lene aa rahe hain......
pratigya-----thnk u rolli......u r truly my best frnd......
her sweet,innocent wrds brot tears in her eyes------pratigya....am....am so sorry......
pratigya put her hand on hers and pressed it gently-----dnt be.....it was nt UR fault....... she looked away-----it was mine...........
rolli-----no pratigya ismein tumhari koi galati nhi thi......tum to bas sabkuch thk karna chahti thi.....
pratigya-----kya farak padta hain....sabkuch galat ho gaya......
rolli was abt to say somethng more wen she stopped him-----rolli plzz kuch der ke liye hume akela chod do...hum thoda aram karna chahte hain....
she got up immediately----sure sure...tum aaram karo...hum vinay ke saath bahar baithe hain...jab tumhare mom dad ayenge hum tumhe jaga denge...
pratigya nodded and smiled...
rolli helped her lay down her head on the pillow and then she left.......
as she closed the door behind her......pratigya said-----tum sach keh rahe the.....koi hamara viswas nhi karega...... she turned towards the window and smiled at.............
KRISHNA...........................whu stood quietly with his back leaned against the window panes...........
he walked towards her and sat down beside her....-------humne kaha tha na tumse....ye baat tum kisiko bataogi to log tumhe pagal kahenge.......kahenge ki tumhara dimag kharab ho gaya hain...tum kuch bhi soch rahi ho....... he ran his fingers into her hair------aur fir wo sab hum dono ko alag kar denge.......kya tum aisa chahti ho?
pratigya clutched his hand tightly------nhi....kabhi nhi.......ekbar humne galati thi......tumhe chodkar chale aye.....woh galati hum dobara nhi karenge......hum tumse alag hokar nhi jee payenge krishna......
he smiled and stooped down to kiss her forehead.....-------humne bhi galati ki hain pratigya....humne socha tha ki tum humse pyaar nhi karti.........aur.... he sighed-----lekin aab sabkuch thk ho jayega...humne tumse waada kiya hain...hum kabhi tumhara saath nhi chodenge....hamesha rahenge tumhare saath...hamesha.........

epilogue
pratigya was in her own home..with her parents.... she was under the treatment of Mrs gupta,the renowned psychiartrist...... and according to her she had started to improve a great deal......
she kept herself inside her room only and seldon used to go out...except for certain occasions wen he parents used to plead her...and she cudnt dishearten them......they were really vry happy to get their daughter back.....their cheerful,smiling pratigya....whum they had lost......
it had been a year since krishna's death.....and pratigya had got used to this terrible truth.....that he was DEAD......
yes,she was improving......why wudnt she?
krishna had kept his promise.....the promise wich he made to her after he died....... he was always there with her....evrywhere...evn in her room..... she talked with him......smiled with him,shared her food with him...slept in his arms........
if it wasnt for krishna......her state wud have nvr improved and she wud have ended in some mental asylum...... krishna had proved his love to her.......
