Chapter One
"Oh teri!" snapped Bindi, the flat of her palm smacking her forehead, as she stumbled through the sand filled expanse of nothingness she had been pushed into, courtesy of those awful men and now she didn't even know where to look for Paro.
After two dramatic turns to look for the fateful wedding jora at the heart of all this drama, Bindi realized albeit a bit late that she no longer was quite sure which way the car had left , and the almost fog-like sand mist ensured that no matter which way she looked all she saw was sand.

Ever since she was a child, Parvati had tried to see the good in people.
It had gotten to a point where she was usually so busy making excuses for others that people just found it easier to give in than argue with her.
Not that she ever actually argued.
Somehow that spark of fire required to fight had never seemed to take root in her.
Now however, her hands held ruthlessly in the grip of three reprehensible strangers, she was finding it increasingly difficult to find good, ironically not in them, but in the bike rider she'd spent the past endless seconds calling out for.
That was until Paro realized with a seeping fear, that he wasn't going to stop. And why should he? Three armed men against himself for a woman he doesn't even know.
Even so, Paro realized, she had inexplicibably expected him too. Her hands now twisted cruelly behind her Paro looked over her captor's shoulders once more, only to be greeted with the mini-sand storm the bike-rider's quick escape had left in his wake.

Rudra passed by the speeding lorry emotionlessly. He couldn't afford emotion; he only had the 10 seconds it would take him to cross the speeding truck to assess the threat.
Four men, possibly armed, one female.
Even as he calculated, he sped past, deliberately avoiding eye contact.
And then just as he had escaped eyesight of said truck, he jammed the brakes, the soft plush carpet of desert sand beating back at him as in the aftermath of the cloud of dust he had just allowed to mount behind him, the non-so well prepared grouplet of Anti-BSD lackeys bore through.

For a second Paro, wanted to just close her eyes and go to the safe place she'd created in her mind, in those terrifying months after her parent's brutal murder.
For a second, she a she felt rough hands violating her very skin with their touch, she nearly did.
Until she felt rather than saw those selfsame hands topple over the edge of the truck.
For a moment she thought she was hallucinating. That her mind was playing tricks on her like it so often did in the dusty desert outback s of her Rajistan. But then she saw him.
That man.
That face.
Those eyes.
She knew those eyes.
Even with the chaos building around her, and the sound of violence exploding as if visible before her very eyes, Paro suddenly felt an amazing calm envelope her, a rush of clarity seep through her. She knew this man.
Unaware of how or when she'd been moved so that his own body shielded hers, Paro lifted wide guileless eyes to his.
She knew him.
