"Ei poth jodi na shesh hoi"..but the journey has finally ended for the iconic bengali actress Suchitra Sen.Mahanayika dies after 26 days struggle.She was admitted in a hospital in Kolkata with lung infection.She breathed her last today at 8:25 am following a massive heart attack.

Suchitra sen debut's film was Shesh Kothay which was never released.She was then seen in the movie Sharey Chuattor opposite legendary actor Uttam Kumar.She was awarded
Padma Shri Award in the year 1972.

Suchitra Sen who was also called Greata Garbo of Bengali cinema had acted in more than 60 films.

Born as Rama Dasgupta to Karunamoy Dasgupta and Indira Devi in the year 1931,she married Dibanath Sen and is mother to Moon Moon Sen.She made her entry in Bengali industry after marriage.

Some of her noteworthy movies include Devdas,Saptapadi,Devi Chaudhurani,Deep Jwele Jai, Harano Sur,Aandhi etc.

"An era has ended," remarked veteran actress and film director Aparna Sen.
