I think sameer had a bet with someone about marrying Shikha and he did all this to win the bet
but he did not want her or love her so he is trying to kill her

Theory2
I think sameer's wife will get all the wealth by inheritance and it will come back to him only after she dies.
He married her because he would be eligible for inheritance only when he marries
