I found it completely out of character as well! I definitely suspected something fishy going on but did not expect this. What I was thinking is that perhaps he was the father but through a surrogate mom type deal rather than a one night stand😲.

Also, I had another thought and that of him not actually being the father (if the CVs want to keep him in character). He kept saying to Lavania that he did not know how it happened as he was really drunk so perhaps this "fan" was already pregnant and this was all a plan? Perhaps Girish confided in his aunt and this is the plan the two of them came up with after the fan confronted him of her pregnancy?

I don't know but I hate to have such a nice guy's image ruined for a drunken mistake (although IMHO even drunk you should be able to have enough of an idea as to what is going on (especially being the male in the equation😆)...

I think I am in the minority because I don't find this too much outside character at all. I mean, since we know so little about him this is more of a revelatory moment in the story than anything else.

To be very honest, Girish never truly impressed me with his virtue. Sure, he was kind to Pakhi and sometimes wise in his words but it always seemed strange to me that he would lecture Lavanya and Anshuman on doing the right thing but refused to just tell Pakhi the truth himself! I mean, when it came to revealing the truth he doesn't want to interfere in Anshuman's choices but when it comes to helping Pakhi out secretly, he has no issues? Pakhi doesn't know what is going on but he does, and yet he chooses to play some sort of game against Lavanya and Anshuman, making himself out to be the virtuous one... meh, I never really bought it.

In retrospect, he also kind of strikes me as something of a flirt. All the times he would compliment Pakhi excessively on her beauty etc. used to make me wonder if it would make Lavanya insecure eventually. Pakhi never took it seriously and brushed him aside but I hadn't realized that would be explored in a much bigger way through this infidelity thing.

The way he told Lavanya was also quite fishy; it seemed like he did it because he couldn't handle his guilt and not necessarily because it was the right thing to do. We are not sure yet whether he remembered the encounter before Naina was presented to him as a reality so I am willing to wait on that one, though. The whole situation reminds me of the Michael Jackson song "Billie Jean." 😆

LOL! 🤣 The song fits perfectly.

Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One
But The Kid Is Not My Son...

Now just replace Billie Jean with the unknown fan.😆😆😆

People who are loyal, understanding and supporting towards their loved ones are not necessarily described as "boring". I think its wonderful to have those traits and I have incredible amount of respect for such people. Think twice before calling somebody "boring".

chill luv i am just talking about the character twist in the serial drama there is a massive difference between reel and real, reel is more for entertainment purpose here...i feel that it has made it more fun to watch I was in no way comparing to real life in real life I am indeed boring too 😆

Guys, when you're drunk to that extent you don't know what you're doing, your senses are really impaired. That being said, Girish cheating on Lavanya's character while drunk doesn't seem very inconsistent with his character at all.

Girish, for the last year and a half probably thought that he could hide the truth of the one night stand, but then when Naina came into the picture, he suddenly started to feel guilty because he thought that Lavanya would find out the truth eventually. Perhaps before that he thought that Lavanya would never know and didn't tell her in order to save their relationship. I'm not saying what he did was right, but I do think that what he did fits into what many people today would do when facing these situations.

About there being more to the story, I doubt it. With lots of experience watching this PH's other shows, they don't normally bring "masala" twists. It isn't going to be like oh, she's your daughter, oh wait, she's not... or is she? At least based on their past trends it hasn't been. I'm quite confident that this is Girish's daughter, whether we like it or not.

Gotta agree with you on that. Suspense and masala are not really their forte; in fact they usually fizzle pretty badly when they try to make masala twists work. This made me really glad that they didn't drag and leave us to speculate Girish's revelation too long. It would have been a let down. Now there is still some shock value. What this PH do excellently, miles ahead of any other, is characterization and human relationships. I have always wondered about Girish and Lavanya's love story and I think this event might just give us the depth that will define their characters. I am pretty excited for that.

I agree with you about the drunk part to an extent too. When you are drunk enough that you can't even stand up or you black out the next day, which is what Girish is claiming, then yes your judgment is seriously impaired. What I am wondering then, is, why did Girish get so drunk in the first place? I have a feeling there is a story to be told there, something to do with their relationship. Maybe it was around the time they were trying to have a kind and found out they couldn't?

It sounds like he let himself be talked into keeping his one night stand quiet by Bua. My speculation is that he didn't even remember it until Naina showed up... we are still yet to find out what happened to her birth mother as well. I guess Naina's mother couldn't take care of her anymore for some reason and contacted Girish who asked for Bua's help. Bua came up with a convenient plan for Naina to stay with Girish without Lavanya knowing about the ONS, but Girish couldn't handle the guilt once he saw Lavanya's love for Naina. I suspect the birth mother is still alive though because otherwise I am not sure why Girish would have expressed fear at Lavanya having to lose Naina... so many possibilities!
