Women activists up in arms as Kapil Sharma lands Comedy Nights in trouble
Kapil Sharma's much loved show Comedy Nights With Kapil has found itself in the middle of trouble after a number of women activists objected to stand-up comedian's derogatory comments about women in a recent episode, in which veteran actor Hema Malini was invited as a guest.
Two NGOs Bharatiya Muslim Mahila Andolan and Kaydeshir Wagne have filed a complaint with the Maharashtra State Women's Commission seeking legal action.
The commission's spokesperson was quoted as saying, "We plan to send a notice to the channel within the next couple of days and will probably call for a hearing next week."
