Actually, I am not a hater of Katrina. In fact, I was quite the fan until the Deepika / Ranbir / Katrina fiasco. I always thought that she was dignified and elegant, and I still believe that she is an unbelievable contemporary dancer and really cute. Her films that I enjoyed very much were Ajab and Namaste London and Sing is King. I also thought that her interviews were so good and kind and diplomatic. Then when I saw the KWK, I realised that Deepika would not go on national television and make such accusations (and backed by Sonam) unless it was true, as it could have backfired really badly - Katrina could have sued her for making such allegations on national television, and yet Deepika had conviction of truth in her statements and Katrina allowed such damaging allegations - Deepika's emotions were raw and she was bitter and everyone could see that she was hurting. It was also the first time that Salman Khan did not back Katrina when some-one made such damaging allegations against his girlfriend. I mean he even commented on the "bikini gate". Yet he made no such comments "protecting" his "girlfriend" this time, and still he goes on saying good things about Deepika. Usually he would be on destroy mode for such a thing. Even Priyanka made sly insinuations regarding Ranbir and Katrina in New York. That is why I do believe Deepika was betrayed by these two people and that Katrina uses her so-called diplomacy to cover up a lot that others do not hide.
Watching a lot of interviews and the views of fellow co-stars, I have noted that many compliment her hard work, never have I heard say that she is wonderful to work, that she is kind or sweet or good actress (except Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor). if she receives a compliment, it is often cloaked with sly insinuations - like Aamir and the chess playing, or Reena and the trade analyst comment, or that stuff is happening and couples come together to parties but we are not allowed to talk about it and many more like that.
Katrina may state over and over again that she does not want public attention on her personal life and she does not want to talk about, yet she talks about not wanting to talk about it in every interview of hers. She actually uses that to further her agenda of being in the spotlight constantly - she feeds the curiosity more and more.
She further alienated me as a fan during the JTHJ promos - she was childish and attention grabbing the whole time - it was annoying. The same goes with D3 promos - her camaraderie with her co-stars comes across as fake, as she is always so pushy and harsh and then acts coy in her comments - like the "Barcelona" comment with Abhishek - he is so cool and laid back and funny and she is so in your face about answering.
Ever since her "relationship" with Ranbir took off, she has slowly been losing dignity in my eyes because of her behaviour. Not because of who she is dating, but because of how it has happened and what has transpired since. For a star that will not even state her favourite colour because of diplomacy, I thought that she was really daft going with Kareena's idea of the whole marriage thing on KWK if it was not true. But then stating that she went along with the idea and then denied the legitimacy of the whole thing just makes the whole story so sordid and undignified for me - also raised the stakes on stupidity on all the co-conspirators in this issue.
Of course, these are all my opinions on why I feel she is so fake - on and off screen, but I definitely do not hate.
