Akshay Dogra, who plays Satya in the Life OK show Do Dil Ek Jaan, does not pay too much attention to the rumours doing the rounds that his negative character Satya is being given more importance, much to the disadvantage of the ex-lead actors Nikita Sharma and Ayaz Ahmed.
"TV business does not work in that manner. The channel or the production house (Nautanki Telefilms) will not play around with the script favouring one actor, if it goes against the story. It is all about numbers, dude," said Akshay.
Akshay, who has earlier done shows such as 12/24 Karol Baug and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon also laughed at the allegations that it was his closeness to the writer of the show Gautam Hegde which led to better scenes being written for him, "(Laughs) In this industry you don't even favour your lover, forget anyone else," added Akshay.
He continued, "I am getting a lot of fan mails alleging that I was responsible for Nikita and Ayaz's exit from the show which is so wrong. I am a very positive guy and have always maintained good relationships with all. I hope that they succeed in whatever future projects they do."
Ask as to why the show is set to shut down so quick after the leap (in January), he shares, "Well, that only the production house and the channel can answer. I just believe that one needs to always put in your best efforts. Still, I guess we were hit badly by competition. Big shows like Diya Aur Baati Hum and Bigg Boss aired at the same time slot on different channels. Having said that I belief that Do Dil has been the best show I have done till date."
Looking ahead he says, "As an actor we have to keep looking for work till we are in position where we can reject work like the biggies."
