Episode 177

Garima tells Bua Ji that they forgot the ghee. Khushi said she will go home and get it. Bua Ji starts worrying Khushi going to take the ghee alone at night. Arnav was about to volunteer but NK beat him to it (Maybe next time Arnav). Arnav is upset and Khushi sees Arnav's face and feels satisfied and Anjali looks at him too and makes him feel jealous by telling NK-Khushi to go and take care. Arnav and Khushi have an eye-lock. Nani to add more fuel to the fire, says that it will give Khushi and NK a chance to get to know each other more, while still looking at Arnav. Arnav is just fuming. (Poor Arnav, everyone is just messing with him, but that is the only way for him to "express" his feelings).

The Pooja begins and Shyam is worried if his plan is going to work or not. Arnav is on the phone is worrying. Anjali goes to Arnav asks him why is he calling Khushi's phone so much and tells him that she must have forgotten her phone here. Arnav makes an excuses saying that he is worried because he does not want any delay in the havan. Arnav gets tense and remembers that NK must have his phone and he starts to call him but no answer. Arnav says that he will go and will look for Khushi and he leaves. Anjali is happy to see that her guess was correct (I love seeing a possessive and insecure Arnav).

The havan finishes and the pandit gives the blessings to PayAsh and then seeks the blessings from the elders. Nani tells Anjali and Shyam to come and perform the havan pooja. Nani wonders where Arnav is and Anjali tells her that he has gone out to find "His Khushi" and they both laugh. Shyam is listening to all this get frustrated and tells Anjali to get ready and he purposely collides with her and spills oil on her sari and Shyam tells her it's okay because it did not spill on the floor so there is no bad omen and Nani tells her to change but he stops her saying the moohrat will go by. Nani and the pandit says they have time and they really need to take precautions or else she will burst into flames. Shyam is angry that his plan fail again.

There Arnav is driving and on phone with Anjali and asking her whether they have reached there yet and she tells him that they have not reached yet. Arnav puts down the phone and gets worried and mutters to himself wondering where the hell have they gone (Oh Arnav you will find your Khushi soon, I am loving this worried Arnav).

Arnav sees a barricade and he asks the person passing by what the barricade is for and he told Arnav that 10 minutes ago there was accident of girl here. Arnav is tense now.

Payal starts coughing and Nani asks mami ji to bring water for the Payal. Mami just stands there and nani makes her go. She goes to the kitchen and pours water and she thinks about her life PayAsh's after marriage and imagines Payal giving the orders to her in mami ishtyle and she screams. Nani calls her and tells her to hurry up with the water.

Arnav is on the road sees broken bangles and he remembers that these were the same bangles that Khushi was wearing (he is really observant on what his lady love is wearing). Then he sees the ambulance going by and he runs behind that ambulance but he fails and on the road he sees Khushi sandals lying there (I seriously love how he remembers everything about Khushi).

Mami brings the water and says this is the last time she will serve you and it is not the mother in law's job to serve daughter in law. Nani tells her to shut-up and come with her. (Still think nani should have been stricter, so she would not be like this).

There Arnav starts running behind the ambulance but he is not able to catch it.

Akash comes and asks Payal if she is okay and Payal says that she knows her nature she just needs some time and Payal says that it's okay because she accepted her even after knowing her past and this shows that she is hard outside and soft in the inside. Akash is left feeling guilty.

Akash is worried and Anjali asks him what happened and he tells her that he wants to something about Payal to mami but he is not able to tell her. Anjali gets worried and tells him to tell her (Seriously he needs some courage, did he forget all his New Year promises that he made).

Some famous florist from Lucknow came and nani introduces them to the Guptas and the workers from the back recognizes Payal. They are talking with themselves and loudly say "is she the girl whose wedding we decorated and the groom left the mandap." (These people should do their job and not gossip, I was annoyed with them. The flower guy shuts them up. Nani gets shocked, and Garima and Bua ji are tense. Mami ji is shocked hearing this from the stairs. In some other room in the RM, Akash tells Anjali everything and Anjali feels sympathy towards Payal and understands how she feels because the same thing happened to her. When they walked down they see mami making a scene about the truth. (don't feel like going into the details, she just annoyed me).

Arnav is confused what to do (should he scream out Khushi, should he go back after the ambulance that is long gone. It was like his saans stopped and part of his life is gone) and he is standing in middle of road and he has some tears in his eyes and the broken bangle in his hand and he gets the flashback of Khushi where he said that she mean nothing to him and finally he clenches his fist very tightly having and starts bleeding.

Episode 178

Mami is taunting Payal and Bua ji tries to make her understand by saying that they told Aakash earlier. Mami blames her that she hid this fact for such a long time, Mama tries to stop her but she won't budge (I don't know why he tries, she never listens to him). Nani looks like she feels bad for payal. Aakash comes and tries to tell her that he knows, Mami stops him before he can say a word. Mami asks if Payal is defective, Nani says at least give them a chance to explain, Mami says no I won't agree to this marriage with a reject girl. Nani shouts Manorama and Mami shuts up, Anjali is crying because she understand Payal's feelings. Bua ji is about to explain again when Payal says if you have a problem, I won't marry then. Everyone is shocked and Mami's face was like I did not expect this to happen.

i loved Payal here. she was confident and upheld her self respect. But sigh all her identity was ruined after her marriage.

Arnav does not know what to do after the ambulance has left.

He hurriedly gets into the car getting prepare to go int the same direction as the ambulance when he heard her voice. He looked at his rear-view mirror and saw her arguing with a vendor, and he looked amazed.

Anjali tries to stop mami and says how can you say this when you know same thing happened to me, Mami says don't compare as you didn't hide the fact, Aakash says I knew, Mami said that I do not believe this.

Arnav sighs and puts his head on the steering wheel in relief. He is angry and gets out of the car, grabs her by the wrist and shouts saying "What if you were in the ambulance, I thought I lost you, how can you be so careless." Khushi was shocked and taken back a bit and comes out of his hold and said "What if I was there? Why do you care?" He says "I care dammit because..." he stops because he is surprised by this comment and realizes what he feels (I hope).

Nani says to Mami "if you break this marriage then I will break all ties with you." Mami is shocked. She said what happens if I said you cannot marry my son, what would have happened to you. Mami does not know how to respond to that.

NK comes and asked Arnav why is he here. The vendor asks for money (seriously he could have asked later, does he not see the scene in front of him). Arnav hands over the money and the vendor is happy, and he turns to NK and asks "Where the hell were you." NK explains that the car was overheated so he went to get it fixed. NK said Khushi tripped and broke her sandals and her bangles, that is why she is wearing his shoes and he is wearing chappals. NK said he has the ghee and Khushi gets the bag and NK tells her that there is something for her in the bag. Khushi checks and sees bangles and asks him how he got them. NK said that he felt bad that her bangles broke and saw a choori-wala going home and so he bought those from him. Khushi is happy for this gesture and Arnav is just burning up with jealousy. Arnav tells NK to go get the car and tlls Khushi to come with him. Khushi said she will wait but NK tells her to go and she reluctantly follows Arnav.

Nani sees the pandit come saying that it is time for pooja, she says no more discussion on this matter, Mami agrees and leaves in a bad mood. Payal is said and shoots angry looks at Aakash through her tears. Anjali comes to the Guptas and apologizes for Mami. Bua ji says it's not her fault, Anjali takes them to the havan. Aakash is about to says something when Payal wipes her eyes and goes (I would be mad too, She told him to tell his family and he kept her in the dark and made her believe that her family knows).

Yes. i can understand why Payal was indignant. Akash deserved this cold shoulder from Payal.

Khushi gets to the car and opens the door before Arnav could and she quietly sits in the car. Arnav goes to his side and drives off. They are both quiet. And He tells her to buckle her seat belt. She does not respond and he asks her again. He gets angry and conveniently stops at the stop light and angrily tells her "How many times do I need to tell you to fasten your seat belt. Khushi lifts up her dupatta and shows him that she already did and he is shocked. Arnav continues to drive.

Anjali calls payal and asks her to switch the lights on and she will talk to her in a bit, she does what she is told (I have no clue how she knew what switch to press, I would have pressed all the wrong ones before pressing the correct one.😆😆 Payal sees the decoration that reads "Aakash weds Payal." Payal sees Aakash and Aakash is about to talk when Payal says she doesn't want to talk to him.

Khushi is happily trying on the bangles that NK bought her and praising him and Arnav looks pissed. Khushi is struggling putting them on when Arnav triumphantly said "Toh NK tumhari galai ka size bhi nahi pata?" and Khushi said "Kam se kam unhe chudiya khareedne ka kahayal toh hai." The bangle breaks and she screams. Arnav stops the car.

Payal refuses to talk with him, Aakash says do you know that Di worked so hard to decorate this, she knew that you'd be so happy seeing this, and he apologizes. He said "I wanted to tell Ma but I couldn't, I always wanted to see you happy, and always a smile adoring your face, will you not forgive me this time? I promise I won't hid anything to you, no matter how big it is." At that moment Payal is thinking about Khushi's engagement with Shyam. (I wish she told Aaskah then, maybe all this drama would not have happened.)

i also wished same. They did a cardinal scene by hiding shyam's truth from Raizadas.

The bangle broke and Khushi screamed in pain. Arnav stopped the car and shouts at her saying "why did you try them on if you knew they are the wrong size? What time you cut your veins?" Khushi responds "Why does it matter."

Episode 179

Khushi is trying on the bangles when Arnav said that NK does not know Khushi's wrist size. Khushi is struggling wearing the bangles when she breaks it causing it to pierce her skin. Arnav gets worried and stops the car. He screams at her for being careless and cutting herself and asks her "What could have happened. Khushi answers back saying "So What" but Arnav just gets out of car and goes to Khushi and warns her to never speak to him like that again (like that's going to happen)

Garima and Bua ji are worried about what happened with Mami regarding Payal's truth. Akash comes and assures them that he will never let Payal go through any trouble and will take care of her (LIES). 😆 He said this would not have happened if he only told his mom earlier or she would not have created a scene (I am pretty sure he was never going to tell her until after they are married, but what's done is done. About mami creating a scene, she can make one over nothing). yes he would've never told the truth. He doesn't have that much of guts. He also says that everyone has opinions in the house but Arnav makes the final decisions in the house and no one will say a word against him since he supports the family. Garima and Bua ji bless him.

Arnav grabs Khushi's hand. She tries to take it away (she is so stubborn) but Arnav screams at her and forces her to let me see her wrist. He examines the cut and RABBA VEY. Arnav take her wrist and takes the piece of bangle out with his mouth (He could have taken it out with his hand but it would seem less intense and romantic). Khushi winces in pain and her eyes shut tightly. Arnav tells her it's done. She opens her eyes and Arnav bandages her wrist and she looks at Arnav in shock and awe. When he is done, he goes back to the driver's seat and drives away.

Everyone sits for the havan. Payal asks Garima if she is still worried about the marriage and Garima says she was worried but Akash has taken away all her worries away. They both agree that Akash is gem of a person and Payal is very lucky to have him (yeah he is sweet but he is spineless). Garima wishes that Khushi should also get such a guy (Oh she will and even better one at that). Oh yes, she will get the sexiest man of the planet, who will love her immensely. Bua ji says this news shouldn't reach Khushi otherwise she'll get upset. Anjali tells Shyam and Nani that NK is getting his car repaired and ArSji are coming home together. Anjali and Nani are happy that they are together and talking about how they argue and make up and it is like they look for reasons to fight so they can see each other (they are sure right about that). Shyam is sitting there like Oh Hell No, Khushi is mine (gross).

Shyam's dream shattered and I was enjoying his distorted visage.

ArShi reaches home. Arnav asks Khushi to carry on, he'll just join them in a bit (what does he have planned). Khushi gets out the car and leaves. Everyone is sitting for the havan and Shyam keeps looking at the door. He asks Anjali if Arnav is back (Anjali must be thinking that he cares for her brother but it is his way of indirectly asking about Khushi). Pandit puts teeka on AnjAm and then Mami -Mama does the pooja next. Shyam says they should call Khushi but Anjali asks him to relax, they'll come. Khushi walks in and Shyam is happy. Everyone is puzzled seeing Khushi wearing other shoes and bandaged wrist. Khushi says she's fine and gives Payal the ghee. Shyam asks for Khushi to be taken care of since her wounds seem serious (Arnav already did that, she was well taken care of). Anjali says she will herself tend to her wounds. Anjali also tells Khushi that she will arrange for some shoes and juice for her as well.

Arnav comes home and Khushi realizes she left her phone. She turns around and almost bumps into Arnav. He asks her if she is fine. Before she can answer, NK comes and asks what happened to her and he notices the bag in Arnav's hand and asks what's in it. NK notices Khushi's wrists and Arnav told him to go and sit in the havan. Nk was like Okay Ravan (that was funny, and Arnav's face was priceless). Before going, he asks Khushi to come fast as he'll save a seat next to him. When he leaves, ArShi share an awkward silence and Khushi just walks away from there to avoid further interaction.

In the room, Khushi sees a bag addressed to her. She opens it and finds bangles inside. She happily wears them. Arnav is looks at her fondly as she is playing around with the bangles but Khushi spots him looking at her in the mirror. He immediately leaves (he was caught red handed).

She recalls their argument in the car and NK asking about what was there in the bag. Anjali comes with juice for Khushi and tells her she has to drink it. Before Anjali could say more Khushi faints from the shock.

Khushi is lying on the bed. Everyone is around her, worried. Arnav asks her if she can hear him (I love how he is sitting the closest to her, like he is already her husband). I also loved the scene. there was no hindrance, no inhibition. his concern was so real. NK is wondering why Khushi is not regaining her josh' and in her unconscious state, Khushi corrects him and says hosh'. Then she regains her consciousness and looks at Arnav first (aaawww). She asks him about the bangles and Arnav gets tensed and looks away (Nani- Anjali are wondering what is all this about).

Mami says that she's probably imagining things and has gone crazy. Arnav asks Khushi if she's fine. Then he asks for a pillow for her to sit and water and calls the doctor. Nani and Anjali are happy seeing Arnav's care for her and Khushi is touched (He is taking his rightful place as her man/husband). She assures Arnav that she is fine. Garima says that they should take Khushi home now but Nani says she shouldn't go out in this condition. Arnav also says that there is no need for her to go anywhere, she should take rest. Nani and Anjali are amused. Khushi once again says she is fine and they can continue with the havan. Everyone leaves. Arnav is still sitting on the bed. Khushi asks Arnav once again about the bangles. Payal is still in the room, Arnav politely requests her to leave. Payal goes and the episode freezes on Khushi's face. Will Arnav tell her that he bought the bangles???

Episode 180

Everyone is sitting for the havan but Arnav is pacing back and forth waiting to see a glimpse of his Khushi, well her wrists. Anjali asks him how he came for the havan with no complaints and asked if he is sick like Khushi too. Arnav gets annoyed and says he's fine. He sees Khushi coming down with Payal and stares at her as she goes to sit for the havan. She looks at him but he avoids eye contact. The priest starts reading the mantras for the havan and Arnav keeps looking at Khushi, seeing if she wore the bangles (Poor Arnav is dying to know, but his lady love's arms are covered by her dupatta). Shyam sees this and he starts twitching with disgust that his brother in law is look at his lady (If looks can kill Arnav would totally be a goner). Khushi notices Arnav looking but does not pay any heed to him.

The havan ends, Arnav and Khushi are still stealing glances with each other while Anjali is giving prasad to Arnav. The baati in Arnav's head goes off and grabs the thaali and goes to khushi. Anjali is like WHAT THE.😆 Arnav gives the prasad to Khushi, and everyone is shocked (He is one smart boy). Khushi puts her hand out with her dupatta covering her hand (She is not going to give up so easily). Bua ji asks Khushi to remove the dupatta or there will be a stain of it (poor Khushi has to give up). She is forced to take her dupatta off her arms and Arnav smiles seeing that Khushi is wearing the bangles he got for her. RABBA VEY.

Arnav gives the thaali back (He is like Mission Accomplished) to Anjali and she gives the prasad to everyone else.

ArShi steal another eye lock and Anjali and Nani signal each other knowingly like look how cute they are/we are totally right about them (I am like it is about time you noticed). They took so long to realize it. Akash comes to Arnav, who is still lost in the thought that Khushi wore his bangles, and says he wants to use his car to drop the Guptas home. Arnav readily gives him the keys. When Akash leaves, Khushi asks Arnav about the bangles. He denies buying them for her but Khushi is determined to have him admit it.

Everyone is posing for family photos. Khushi stands next to Garima. NK tells Khushi to move to her left and this makes her next to Arnav (Even Khushi's #1 Fanboy nice name, but he wanted to be her lover boy, right? 😆 wants her to be with Arnav). She takes this opportunity and asks him again if he'd bought the bangles for her, making various hand movements to make her bangles noticeable. He just goes away and Khushi is disappointed.

She was damn cute doing all the sexy hand movements in front of the sexy man. She certainly knew that she had some knd of right on him.

NK comes and apologizes for gifting her wrong size bangles and praises the bangles she is wearing. NK asks her where she got them from. She says Arnav Ji, and he stops. Then Khushi tells him that they just came from the sky and NK is amazed saying that anything happens in India (Normal I would do a face palm to that comment, but NK is just do adorable).

NK is showing Arnav the photos he took and Khushi is packing up everything. Anjali comes and praises her bangles as well but Khushi says that they are not that special. Arnav is offended. Anjali asks why she didn't take them off. Khushi says that wearing bangles because it is better than having her wrists empty. During this whole conversation Anjali is looking at Arnav's face and gauging his reaction and plays along with Khushi. Anjali asks Khushi if she can get Thaali with flowers for her from the poolside and Khushi agrees. Anjali counts (tick tick 1, tick tick 2) looking at Arnav and he follows Khushi. Anjali was so happy with what all is going on.

Khushi is looking for the thaali. Arnav comes behind her and asks her why she doesn't throw the bangles away if she doesn't like them. Khushi says he shouldn't worry so much about other people's bangles. Khushi reminds him about the bet saying that he has to do anything she wants him to do. So she asks him if he bought the bangles or not (really you waste your bet on bangles...I would have waited to a better opportunity).

Bua ji is wondering where Khushi disappeared to when they have to leave. Anjali says she sent her for some work and she must be coming. Then, Anjali tells Payal how happy she is that tomorrow Payal will be a member of the family. Akash says he will wait for them outside.

Khushi asks Arnav if he'd bought bangles for her and this time, Arnav says yes he did. Khushi asks why and he just walks away. She says she is asking something. Arnav says that she could only get him to do one thing which was to answer that one question, which he already did. Khushi confesses that she likes the bangles and that she'd just wanted him to admit that he'd bought them. She feels awkward after this revelation and both turn away.

Mami is preparing for the wedding. Anjali says she's already done all this but Mami says they need a confirmation. She then taunts the Guptas and Nani shuts her up. But Mami continues with her rants thus embarassing the Guptas but NK kind of takes her case unknowingly. Mama assures Garima that the wedding will be superb and she needn't worry.

After an awkward silence, Khushi once again asks Arnav why he bought the bangles for her. Arnav softens a bit and looks back at Khushi. He is about to say something but finally says that he does not need to answer all her questions and goes from there. Khushi looks at her bangles again and smiles admiring them.

Arnav smiles at her and walks out and bumps into Shyam and he apologizes (That creep was watching their moment, he needs a life). Shyam was twitching again (Seriously if looks can kill...). Shyam sees Khushi admiring the bangles and she does not look so thrilled.

ha ha ha... did maya angelou say that? proud of the lady... really it's only when the opportunity presents itself that you can know what you would do exactly. virtue is such a misunderstood thing.

the other day i was thinking of scarlett and rhett... read them at 16, skipping alternate chapters i think, trying to stay away from all data on the civil war. 😆. only love and romance i craved. i so remember that ending... shadi and sugary family things need not be the only way.

i would love to see asr and khushi in a slightly non hindi serial story... wonder what might happen.

though i loved the wedding sequence... that one step seemd to take the story completely downhill, because in that moment ipk took the path of all other serials... sad.

good to see you and read your thoughts after so long. i saw aap ki kasam as akid... painful story... and like him asr believed in his eyes over his heart... and the mess.

just a couple of things i saw differently.

i feel asr got engaged to la in the madness of the moment, trying to run away from his feelings, which he was not clear about other than that overwhelming desire, and also from her questions, because they insisted he look at it for what it was. khushi managed not just to break the barriers of his heart, but also mess with his mind... key issue: he lost control.

this is abhorrent to him... so he walked away and went straight to the one who never made him lose control. la.

and the break up... the moment he realised what he'd done after saying, main aisa hi hoon, khushi, and la had laid her hand on his shoulder making him aware... he knew he was wrong...yeh main kya kar raha hoon... and then he went straight to la's room to break up, because he realised the folly of carrying on. la knew what he'd come for, she tried to push it away, but then she let it happen, knowing there was no other way.

i felt both moments were very complex.

and the break up was handled with empathy... the complexity and depth came through. one of the best scenes ever in indian serials for me.

we keep thinking and saying why our serials are not more like western ones, i feel they aren't because we are different, we communicate differently, we negotiate life differently. theirs feels real, because they are true to who they are.

ours doesn't at times, because we deny certain things in an effort to appeal to the large and varied mass of audience.

even a highly westernised indian has certain feelings thanks to centuries of culture and whatever which is different, there are typically subcontinent oriented feelings and emotions and implications there... our expressions are different our expectations too... i felt the break up had something real in it... it understood us for what we are, a blend of western thought maybe even some values and deep indian/subcontinental sensibilities...

a sense of movement in it... in fact the whole la and asr thing had that element of contemporary longings in india... the rise of individualism and other things. at one time i'd have said, what nonsense, in a traditional home, never would a girl friend have been allowed to come and stay... but actually, that is not true any more, for several families. i saw how my dad's side, entrenched in tradition, adapted to so many new things... it is fascinating to watch.
