Rakhee turns commentator
MUMBAI: Item girl Rakhee Sawant will be seen in a new role that of a cricket commentator on the entertainment channel Filmy's new presentation 'Rakhee Ke Bouncers'.
With the World Cup fever hitting the nation, the channel has roped in Rakhee for the show with comedian Suresh Menon. Together they will different dimensions of entertainment to the World Cup.
'Rakhee Ke Bouncers' is packaged in a 3 minute vignette format which will be aired throughout the day on the channel, starting from March 23.
On the show, Rakhee will play a 'bindaas bimbette commentator' who knows all about fashion and films but nothing about cricket, while Menon, playing her co-commentator, will appear in different avatars of famous personalities like Siddhu, Srikanth, Tendulkar, Nana Patekar and Dilip Kumar to name a few.
The two will give their comments on cricket terminology, match results and statistics in their inimitable funny style.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Rakhee said, ''I want women to know all about cricket. I know a lot about the game. That is why when I was offered the show, I agreed. My favourite players are M S Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar. You will see, it is lot of fun.''
Talking about the show, Filmy Marketing and Content Head Shailash Kapoor said, ''In sharp contrast to all the serious World Cup analysis on various channels, our show promises light hearted humour and a twisted look at cricket. Rakhee is one of the most exciting faces on TV today and in 'Rakhee Ke Bouncers' our viewers will see her in a new, comic role. Cricket cannot get hotter and glamourous than this.''
