PART 20: Maappillai Alaippu n Phere😃

Evening, Mappillai Azhaippu

Arnav was wearing Dhoti shirt much to his irritation.

Arnav: Dadaji, why cant I wear my suit or jean n shirt?

Dadi: Chote? You are marrying a Tamil girl.

Arnav: SO? I feel like when I turn this dhoti will fall.

Dada: Come on chote. Be happy you are going to marry twice. For this dhoti problem, u can wear a belt too.

Arnav just stared at them and wore his belt on his doti securing it in its place. They left to sidhi vinayak temple.

Akshita and Aman n lavanya were already there. Daksh and Aran were in the car outside. They dint want to be part of this ceremony.

Arnav: Akshita Chithi, if u are here, then who will accompany Khushi at home?

Akshita: I will be here only till your shagun is given. Then I will leave. Don't worry. You Kuku is safe

Arnav blushed making all laugh while making Aman's jaws drop making lavanya laugh more

Dadaji: Let's start Akshita.

Akshita: Yes. But who will do the rituals in place of Khushi's brother?

Aman: Chithi, I am here na. Me and Lavanya will do the needful. Just guide us.

Everyone smiled at him. The pandit started mantras and Akshita guided Aman.

Aman placed the garland on Arnav's neck and gave him a flower bunch. Arnav accepted whatever Aman gave him and then recited the Mantras repeating from Pandit.

Dadaji and Dadiji sat by him, praying.

Pandit: Now the bride's brother can give the gifts to the groom.

Aman gave the suit, a ring and sherwani set.

Then Dadaji and Dadiji gave Aman n Lavanya, Khushi's Shaadi ka joda, a yellow saree and a red lehenga set with jewellary.

Akshita took them and left the place almost immediately. Arnav got in to the flower decorated car and left to Rajan Palace followed by Dada Dadi Aman Lavanya in another SUV.

As he reached the palace, Arnav placed his Sehra on his face hiding it. Khushi was accompanied by Akshita to the entance and Akshita handed a garland to Khushi which she held uninterestingly.

Aman rushed to khushi. As Arnav was about to garland her, Aman lifted her on her shoulders.

Arnav: WHAT THE!

Khushi snapped her head and saw his strong stubble and almost immediately she recognized him.

Khushi: Laad governor?

Before Khushi could react Dadaji came forward.

Dadaji: Huh! I am still young.

Saying he lifted Arnav on his shoulders.

As Arnav reached her height he saw him glaring at her. then only he realized what blunder he did.

Arnav: Khushi. I can explain for now complete the ritual.

Khushi landed the garland on his neck still glaring at him but she felt this was right.

Arnav also did the same and all clapped their hands. Photos were taken.

Arnav and Khushi were led inside and there Pandit was sitting with havan.

Akshita took her to her room to change her to Lehenga choli and Arnav was taken to guest room to change to Sherwani.

As Khushi changed to Lehenga choli, Arnav jumped in through French window holding his sherwani pyjama. Khushi forgetting all her anger she started laughing.

Khushi: What is this? Mr. Angry bird doesn't know to manage with sherwani?

Arnav: Huh! Jhalli Rani. Stop that. I am used to this crap.

That's when Khushi realized that she had to be angry on him. but why dint she????

Khushi: Will you care to explain me what are you doing in Groom's attire?

Arnav: Khushi unmaya sollu(Say the Truth). Are you happy with this marriage? I mean with Aran?

Khushi: How does it matter to you? Aapko is se kya farak padta hai?

Arnav: Farak padta hai Dammit. Just answer my straight question with straight answer.

Khushi: I am used to find happiness in what I have. So I would have found it in this marriage too.

Khushi said frowning while Arnav gritted his teeth and swore to teach a lesson to Daksh for putting her in this state.

Arnav: Khushi Marriage is not a compromise like you think. You must have a strong reason for it.

Khushi: I have one.

Arnav: What is that?

Khushi: My Amma has promised Mama that she will get me married to Aran.

Arnav was taken aback by this. He knew that Daksh tricked. But he never knew that he used Anjali in this. Cheap fellow!

Arnav: You know about Aran more than me. Tell me one thing. Was Aran Nasty in his young age too?

Khushi though hesitated to speak about the family that brought her up, she spoke out seeing the sincerity in his eyes.

Khushi: Yes. He was.

Arnav: So do you think your amma would have wanted you to get married to such a person?

Khushi: I really don't remember Arnav. I don't remember my amma appa, anyone. Not even my own self.

Khushi was at the verge of bursting out in teas. Arnav immediately took her in his embrace calming her.

Arnav: Khushi its just simple. I am saving you from a compromise that you are about to do with your life. I am ready to spend my life with you. But please stop this madness and give me a chance. I know your Amma will be happy seeing you happy, which you will be and I will make you be.

Khushi though she dint know what to do, she just followed her heart and the emotion, undeciphered emotion his eyes showed her.

Arnav just kissed Khushi forehead as she nodded and left the place.

Khushi dint know what made her accept. But all she knew was that she can never deny the glint she saw in the caramel pools of his eyes.

Arnav silently came back to his room through window only to be caught by his Dadi who caught hold of his ears.

Arnav: Ouch Dadi.

Devyani: Chote, what is this? its your Phere in few minutes and here you went to meet your bride at this time?

Arnav: Dadi, I am all ready. If you ask me to take her to honeymoon I will run away now.

Pratap: Tsk Tsk. That option is not applicable now chote. Come on wear your pagdi and get ready.

Arnav got ready and came out. Today with Tamil Mappillai Azhaippu it was decided that they will have their wedding in Luchnowi style.

Arnav was waiting in Mandap for Khushi. Khushi was brought down by lavanya. She was looking gorgeous in the Lehenga he designed. Particularly in RED. Her blushing cheeks were matching her attire. She dint wear too many jewels. But the red neck adorned with pendant was more than enough for him. she came and stood next to him. He still thought this to be a wild imagination of his. HIS KUKU STANDING NEXT TO HIM IN WEDDING ATTIRE!!! THAT TOO AFTER 17 YEARS!!!!!

Pandit insisted both of them start the Havan. They did and there, he tied the mangalsutra and filled her maang as Khushi closed her eyes.

All she could remember was a boy wounding a pendant with diamond letters around a girl's neck. She turned to him and kissed his cheeks taking everyone in surprise. Arnav returned the kiss on her cheeks. He looked up at the sky from the lawn where the Mandap was set up and saw 4 stars twinkling brightly at them.

Arnav(Thought): Maa papa, Athai mama, I did it. I kept my promise. Kuku is my wife now. Tomorrow Anju athai's wish of getting her married according to her culture will also turn true. hope you help me by keeping Daksh and Aran away.

Arnav silently sonversed with them and he felt like the stars growing more brighter. When he turned he saw Khushi also seeing the star filled sky with teary eyes.

Arnav put his arm around her and led her to takae elder's blessings.

So 1 more to go.

Tomorrow, they will be legally culturally ritually married. And tomorrow afternoon they were leaving for their honeymoon.
