CHAPTER : 12 :
Bye Mamma, bye ... Love you Mamma ... BYE ... bye Mamma ...a little boy of 2 years kept looking back and waving at his mother. He was holding the hand of an invisible being and was headed into a prism of blinding, white light.
VIR-A-A-A-AT! , Manyata screamed and woke up. It was just a dream! , she mumbled ... but just to make sure, she put her hand on her tummy. She was satisfied when she felt some movement from the Baby.
A quick look at her watch, showed that it was 6 more hours, before she'd be back in Mumbai. She was happy that she did, EXACTLY what she wanted to. By delivering those papers to Stanley ... she had saved Devgarh! And now - she was returning home. But would it be "HOME" or a WAR-ZONE that she'd be entering? Thanks to the many text messages, courtesy of Jai ... she got running-commentary of what was happening at home, thus she knew precisely what atmosphere to expect.

Unnati's words from yesterday; still echoed in Uday's mind. Of-course ... he was worried about Manyata and Virat ; he was DAMN WORRIED! The thought of anything happening to either 1 of them - was putting his temper into a tail-spin. How could Manyata be so bloody careless? , was a question he kept asking himself.
Paapa, Paapa! , Udita called to her father ... breaking his thoughts. Yes Baby. She made a fist at the end of her out-stretched hand and said : BOO! Uday was puzzled ... this was the first time, he saw such an action and had no idea what she meant. Paapa - BOO! , she told again, along with the action. Sweet-heart ... your Paapa doesn't know what you're talking about. Udita didn't know how to explain, but thankfully, Vijay did : Uday Banna , Baby has been watching a lot of TV lately; she's imitating the signature of BOOGIE-WOOGIE!
Awww ... does my Sweety-Pie want to enter Boogie-Woogie? , Uday asked Udita. She stood up and wiggled her bum (that was her little attempt at dancing). Uday clapped for her, and she blushed. He picked her up and placed her on his lap ... That was very good Pari. So - my Baby-Girl wants to be a dancing-super-star? She gave him the widest smile. But then ... who will look after your Riyasat if u become a dancer? Udita gave a "confused" expression, making Uday laugh.
Udita pointed to Uday's cell - Manita! She wanted Uday to phone Manyata ... so that she could talk to her mother - little did she know, that her mother's 3 calls were rejected by her father already.
What did u say? Manita! Sweet-heart ... you can't be calling your Mamma by her name - that is VERY BAD-MANNERS! , Uday waved his index finger at her to show that he was serious, and the baby nodded her head.
Yes Doll - and u can't call "JEDHINI" and "NITHI" either ... u have to say MAASI and BUA , Unnati added before taking Udita into her lap. You understand Baccha? , Uday asked and Udita smiled. Then , who is this? , Uday pointed to Unnati, in a testing manner. Chotti! , the Baby answered ; then giggled ... then clapped for herself. Uday stared at her in disbelief, as Unnati failed in suppressing her laughter.
Oi ... your BUA is MY Chotti - only I can call her THAT! , Uday started tickling Udita; and she laughed uncontrollably. Chotti! , she told again when her father stopped tickling her ... making him start with her all over again. Awww Dada , leave her. Look how cute she is when she calls me "CHOTTI" . OH!!!!!! And I'm NOT cute?! , Uday told before turning the tables on Unnati and tickled her too.

DS , who was watching everything from upstairs; felt that Uday's anger had subsided. She was grateful for it, as when Manyata would return - he wouldn't tear into her, as she had expected him to. However, the truth was something else ... Uday's anger was still there, becoming more fiery as each hour passed. He was only controlling himself, for the sake of his daughter.

When Manyata disembarked from the plane, she wasn't surprised to see Rajat waiting for her. Obviously Uday sent him to take her STRAIGHT HOME! Very funny - HE didn't come himself!, she said sarcastically. Does he think I'm a child? That I can't find my way back?? , she questioned ... but didn't get any answers. Rajat continued looking ahead, at the road ... trying very hard not to pay attention to Manyata's ramblings.
Manyata was miffed with Uday. She was annoyed at him for rejecting her calls, thus, not allowing her to talk to Udita. How dare he keep me from Baby? What is he trying to prove? UdayVeer Singh - I did u a favour by doing this MYSELF! Instead of being grateful ... you're ... URRGGHH! , Manyata continued venting.

Uday stood up, the exact moment DS sat next to him. She caught his wrist; and with her eyes - gestured him to sit back down. Uday Beta - aap humse bhi naraaz ho? He looked away from her and didn't answer. Beta - do u really think, we wouldn't have stopped Manyata, if we knew what she was planning? Again, Uday said nothing. Uday Beta - ek yuvraani hone ke naate ... Manyata se sahi kiya; ye baath, aap bhi jaante hain! Lekin who pregnant thi DS! Uday exploded. I know, she said softly, then continued : Beta - we both know how Manyata's mind works - she does things FIRST and , LATER, she thinks about the consequences. He nodded his head - agreeing with her.
After a long chat with DS; Uday was a lot calmer than before. As much as he wanted to blast her, he realised he needed to be "gentle" with Manyata. She probably already did a ton of damage to her health, by boarding a plane - he did not want to aggravate her stress levels, by yelling at her! He decided, that as soon as she got back - he'd take her to hospital for a full--physical-check-up.
Uday's urge to fight, had quietened down ... but Manyata's urge, was all fired up. Like a tornado, she entered the mansion, marched to Uday and gave him a mighty shove : What the hell is your problem Uday? Why did u cut my calls? I wanted to talk to my daughter, but u DIDN'T LET ME! I'm her mother Uday, in case you've forgotten! Oh ya ... THEN , U send Rajat for me; like I'm some lost lamb, that needs a shepherd to guide me home. SSSHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! , was all Uday told, to stop her noise.
Mamma, Mamma , Mamma ... Udita began "singing" , upon hearing her mother's voice. She leaped out of Jai's arms and into Manyata's. Baccha , remember I told you , your Mamma can't carry you anymore , Uday told and moved to take Udita, but Manyata moved away and replied : I can carry her ... there's nothing wrong with me! Uday's blood boiled in anger , but put all effort in controlling an outburst.
Whilst Manyata was feeding the Baby ... Uday made the servants pack his wife's and daughter's things: They're coming with me TONIGHT , Uday decided ... and don't u dare refuse me Manyata! Who's bags are these? , she asked when she saw the 2 suitcases. YOURS! Then what are they doing here? Your holiday is over ... it's time to return to your husband's house. Says WHO? , Manyata provoked. Uday moved really close to her and whispered : Your Children's Father!
Manyata was momentarily distracted by Uday's closeness; but recovered to bark back : Well - I'm not going! , Manyata was not relenting and Uday battled hard to resist the urge of giving her , a piece of his mind! He remembered DS telling him that pregnant woman had tendencies of being utterly stubborn at times ... while being extremely emotional at other times ... therefore he needed to be the 1 to compromise ; and accommodate her moods.
"COMPROMISE" and "UDAY" were 2 words that NEVER went together ... nor were they going to be conjoined now! No-ways, was he going to let her have her way; and stay here tonight ... the biggest compromise from his end was : not grabbing her by the shoulders and shaking the life out of her!
Manyata's heaving chest, flaring nostrils and reddened face, reminded Uday of the first time, Manyata came into their lives - and he gave an amused expression ... irking Manyata even more. Moniya ... my Jungli-Billi , he patted her cheek ... get in the car; IF YOU DON'T - THEN U CAN STAY HERE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE ... and that too - WITHOUT UDITA! She swallowed hard at nothing and silently followed Uday and Udita, while a servant carried her bags.
The only talker in the car, Udita; eventually got tired and fell asleep. Manyata stubbornly refused to get out of the car, when Uday pulled up in front of the hospital. I want you to be checked by a doctor TONIGHT! NO! No Uday. I'm fine ... Virat is fine! U wanted to take me home ... then let's go home! Manyata - you will bloody well do this; even if I have to drag you myself, Uday was losing his cool. Awaaz neeche! Baby is sleeping and I don't want to disturb her. Uday got out of the car and slammed the door hard ... luckily Udita was not disturbed; but his action did soar Manyata's temper more. She too, got out of the car and began screaming at Uday - making all the passer's-by hear : Chup kyun ho Uday? Tell me what u want, I know you're dying to fight with me! Tell me what a bad mother I was , for leaving Udita ... tell me how inconsiderate I was, for only leaving 1 bottle of milk for her. Tell me - how disappointed you are with me ... You're making a scene ... SHUT-UP and get inside the car! , Uday pushed her inside. When u calm down - then we'll be seeing a doctor. I'll see the doctor tomorrow - I'm tired ... I want to go to bed , Manyata told softly, almost pleadingly and Uday drove straight to Uday Niwas ... without any more words being exchanged.
Manyata had come to Uday Niwas after 21-22 months. It was not how she remembered it. It seems ... Uday has been doing massive renovations to accommodate his growing family. Udita's room was approximately 4-averaged-sized-bed-rooms , put together! Uday was extending the pool in the back-yard and there was a completely new wing which Uday was making especially for his son - to be Virat's bachelor-pad one-day! Manyata smiled approvingly at the changes. Uday had ALWAYS put FAMILY, before EVERYTHING and EVERYONE ELSE! It was a fact that Manyata knew ... but recently forgotten. She realised that Uday's anger was justified , and hers ... WAS NOT! Hell , she couldn't even remember why she was in that aggressive mood in the first place! Probably , the hormones , she concluded.
Immediately , she decided to apologise to Uday; for her bad behaviour ... but Uday was asleep in Udita's room - with the Baby on his chest and Pinkoo close by. Slowly, she pulled a blanket over all 3, careful not to wake Udita. What Manyata didn't know was ... Uday was still awake - he couldn't sleep, after the horrendous day he had; he was only pretending by Manyata - to avoid any more arguments.

Higher Mamma , push me higher , a cute 2 year-old boy told to his mother as he enjoyed the height, his swing was going. Awww Mamma - why did we stop? Virat - that's enough for today ... we'll come back tomorrow. But I won't be here tomorrow. Why? Where are u going? , asked Manyata. I'm going there - he pointed out some place in the distance; which Manyata could not see. No Baby ... you're not going anywhere - you'll be with me ALWAYS! , she hugged him tightly.
Virat! , a strikingly beautiful woman - dressed in a white gown ... called him lovingly. DadiSahib , he exclaimed excitedly and ran into her arms. Manyata was stunned to see the lady - it was Uday's late mother , Vasundra. But Maa is DEAD ... Manyata started to wonder as it dawned on her , what exactly was happening. I've come to take my grand-son , Bahu , Vasundra told. No Maa , please don't do this. Don't take him away. Virat belongs with Uday and me - don't take him away from us , please Maa , Manyata's tears flowed uncontrollably. Don't cry Mamma , Virat came to wipe her tears. I can't live without him Maa ... neither will Uday be able to! Vasundra closed her eyes for a long time ... as if she was in conversation with a higher being.
Where's Paapa? , Virat looked all around - he's with Didi na? He's ALWAYS with Didi! He moved to Manyata, who was kneeling on the ground and kissed her cheek - this is for Paapa - you must give it to him! He kissed her other cheek : This is for you!
Bye Mamma - I'm going now! , he waved. Vasundra opened her eyes : Manyata - Virat will come back to you 1 day ... you and Uday need to keep trying for him. In a broken voice, Manyata asked : Wh -when will th-that be? Surprise Mamma! , Virat shut both his eyes in an attempt to wink. As Manyata moved to hold him - he disappeared , along with his grand-mother!
Can't believe I'm posting this a day early .... I think I'm in a better mood than I initially thought😆! Hope u all enjoyed it 😕.
