Chapter 12

Rathore removed the earphones and analysed whatever he heard. So Sakshi was lying, and she hadn't kidnapped Liza and Shree at all, in fact she herself didn't know where these two were. He got up and decided to have a talk with Aisha.

As he walked he had a big mischievous smile on his face, but before he could meet Aisha, Chotu blocked his way telling him about a new case.

Meanwhile at Rawte's residence

Sakshi had just finished talking with Aisha, when suddenly Aryan woke up and started to wail. Sakshi went towards Aryan and took care of him, cleaned him, changed his diapers and fed him bottled milk. She was feeding through the bottle when suddenly someone knocked at her door, and Mrs Rawte entered the room. She came to stand in front of them, and was looking lovingly at Aryan. She raised a hand and touched his head with gentleness.

"Sakshi, why don't you feed Aryan directly? Isnt he still too young to be fed from a bottle?" Mrs Rawte suddenly asked.

Sakshi was too shocked to even know what and how to reply to Mrs Rawte's question.

"Don't tell me that you are also one of those figure conscious ladies!" Mrs Rawte said in a reproaching voice.

"Nahin, it's nothing like that Mrs Rawte!" Sakshi finally answered. How could she breastfeed when she wasn't even a mother? How could she get out of this? Another lie was surely coming on its way, she thought with despair.

"Then what? Don't tell me you can't feed him neither! After all just look at you, you hardly looks as if you are eating enough food for yourself to survive!" Mrs Rawte said while looking at Sakshi's body. She looked very disapproving.

"I'm afraid to say Sakshi, but you seemed to be a very bad mother! And if you decide not to marry my son, I'll do everything so that Aryan be snatched from you!" Mrs Rawte said in a cold voice.

Sakshi was too shocked to even comprehend what was happening. What started as a simple question for breastfeeding was ending with threatening words from Mrs Rawte. Sakshi held to Aryan protectively in a tight hug, "Nahin, you can't do such things!"

"Yes I can, I can see that you aren't looking well after my grandson. Besides you are a career woman, when will you have time to look after Aryan?!" Mrs Rawte added out of the blue.

Mrs Rawte never had any intention of separating Sakshi and Aryan, despite everything she could see that Sakshi did look well after Aryan, but she had to make Sakshi agree for the marriage in any way she could, even if it was emotional blackmail. She was very afraid that Sakshi would leave this house taking Aryan from her. She didn't want to lose her only grandson. Besides she already had no hope from Arjun at all, he didn't even appear enthusiastic to marry Sakshi at all.

Sakshi stared with fear at Mrs Rawte. She had never realized that she could really lose Aryan one day. What if they really took him from her? Sakshi wasn't even related to Aryan, while these people were the blood relations of Aryan. Sakshi couldn't lose Aryan, what will Liza do when she returns and finds this.

"Think well and give me your answer!" Mrs Rawte said, bent to give a peck on Aryan's forehead and went away, happily because she could see that her threat had worked on Sakshi and a bit guilty for scaring a mother of taking her child away. Besides desperate things called for desperate measures. She didn't know what had gone wrong between Sakshi and Arjun, but it was now her duty to bring them together.

Sakshi , on her side, was very worried now. What must she do now? How can she marry Arjun? What about all her dreams? She made Aryan sleep and put him back on the bed. She went to remove a letter from her suitcase, this was the only last thing she had from Liza. She opened up the letter and read it again.

"Dear Sakshi,

I'm going away. Please don't hate me too much. But after what happened, after what he did to me, I can't seem to look at Aryan at all. I do love Aryan, he's my baby, the evidence of mine and Shree's love. That's why I brought him to this world, but for the time being, I can't bring myself to look at him, every time I look at him, I'm seeing Shree every time! I feel so much depressed, and I don't know what to do!

This is better if I just go away. I don't know how long it will take me, but when I feel very much ready, I'll come back when I feel better.

Please don't try to contact Shree or anyone in his family.

Till then please look at Aryan!

Sakshi still had tears in her eyes, no matter how many times she read that letter, she still missed Liza. She had done her best to look after Aryan, and now after so many sacrifices, she couldn't let them take Aryan away. She finally decided, if she had no choice till the wedding day, then she'd marry Arjun. The rest she'll cope and deal with when the time came. She didn't know what Arjun will say or do when he came to know about her decision.

Arjun would probably glare at her, insult her and more, but she didn't have any choice.

Back to the ETF's conference office

Chotu was briefing everyone about the new case.

"One hour ago, we had a shooting in a shopping mall! Three persons were injured, but hopefully no one died! This is the third time this week that we have a shooting in shopping malls! What's stranger, is that no one died till now, they were just injured!" Chotu concluded.

"Yes, it seems that either the people are trying to scare us or they are just amateurs," Arjun said entering the conference room.

"Ok then, Arjun and Chotu go and investigate on the crime scene, while me and Aisha will go and take the previous case details from the police station!" Rathore ordered.

So all went away to investigate as Rathore's order.

Rathore and Aisha were alone in the SUV. Perhaps this was the perfect time for asking what he wanted to know.

"Kya hua Sir? I feel you want to ask me for something, but not being able to," Aisha politely said after having noticed Rathore look at her so many times.

Perfect, this was the occasion he was looking for. But what should have come out, never came. Instead the words coming out of his words shocked both of them literally.

"Where is your husband? and will you ever introduce him to us?" Rathore asked.
