One thing that struck me from his past was when Paakhi was touring the home n asked for his mother's pics, Mahji replied she is no more. I was like so what? From the looks of it, even his father is no more, but they had pics of him. Wonder if that's going to come into play sometime in the future too. He looks disconnected from everyone, he even speaks of his son very clinically I feel. I;m sure he loves him but he said that Ayaan is very difficult to handle and has specific likes n dislikes and does not accept anyone easily. Sounds like a junior version of himself and here I'm hoping Paakhi will bridge the gap between the two if any.
I think its the lack of any motherly figure in his life, that he allows Mahji to run the house with a free hand, but mind you he seems not to be attached to her either. Even with all the influnece he'sunder of Lavanya, he does not seem to be overtly affectionate of her either. The very reason for their bond is I feel bcoz he does not have anyone else in his life to look to for advise and she unfortunately does not have children of her own, to detach herself from him. She mothers him and does not even allow Girish to tell him anything differently from what she feels. As observed in the scene where Girish was asking them to be frank with Paakhi. I was keen on knowing Anshuman's reactions to that, but Lavanya sidetracked him again. Its really unhealthy for the both of them, the influence she has on him, which again only Paakhi can be expected to break. As for Lavanya, her husband is too adoring n tolerant of her ways, so I have no hopes for her changing at all, unless n until she sees Anshuman in misery that is.

Good points and good discussion...!!
Both the brother and sister don't seem to have much moral bearings...perhaps no one in their childhood told the,m what was right and what was wrong...

I completely agree that Anshuman is more and more appealing the more subtly manipulative he gets. That double speak in today's episode was pretty great and I think the transition to a more sophisticated game was deliberate on some level. He must have thought at the beginning that the silly stuff was enough to send her running so he didn't bother to be more creative or intelligent about his scheming. But now he has realized that he has to up his game to best Paakhi because she is much smarter and more capable than he gave her credit for. Where before Paakhi was winning easily, now we get to see a battle of equals and that is very exciting! I wonder if acknowledging her as a worthy opponent is the first step in his gradual journey towards opening up to her? Of course the beauty is that Paakhi is not competing at all... it's her warm love against his cold calculation, with equal amounts of confidence and intelligence on both sides. That's what makes the story so compelling.

I also wonder if his first wife, much like Tanya now, was just a marriage of convenience, a strategic alliance. I guess we will know more once Ayaan comes on the scene. That is going to be a HUGE moment and I cannot wait.

@Malika: Thanks! I think a lot of us are so used to the hackneyed hero whose harsh exterior hides his over-sensitive heart that we almost get frustrated when we don't see what we expect in Anshuman. Once you realise that he is a different breed altogether, the whole thing starts to make more sense and be much more exciting. But you hit the nail on the head. The suspense of which gesture of Paakhi's will finally get through to him is, in my opinion, what makes the story fresh and exciting. Unlike other heroes, he is not overtly impressed by her beauty as is proven by the fact that he doesn't get lost looking at her for endless minutes of BG music, neither does he have the usual inexplicable and exceptional sympathy for her and her alone. He really could not give a damn about her feelings, as evidenced by the fact that he is staging this elaborate ruse to make sure his image remains squeaky clean. It's all about him. That might be what hits him hard... when he realises just how alone he is in the world because he never cared about other people's feelings... maybe?

Hmmm...good analysis and excellent observations!!

But I am a romantic...I don want him to choose her because he is lonely...not because he is attracted...how pathetic is that...😕

A man has to be attracted to a woman to have romantic relationship...that's a minimum in my books...😉

Each time given a chance Lavanya goes to new high of snobbery. She has been downright rude and mean to Pakhi, she deserves a harsh lesson.Girish is all soft on her, well he may have his reason...wonder how long he will remain restraint .Until one day he explodes on this brother0sister duo.

On precap..once again Pakhi will be made aware how unfit she is to be the daughter-n-law,wife of anshuman, for society ..her humiliation will be seen by her smug husband with wicked satisfaction but not tolerated by her brother.I want her to go away with her brother but not before she makes them realise their folly.

Since this show is stated to end with predefined no. of episodes which may vary i.e by march end.Sooner or later we might see profound change in anshuman. Not an abrupt but a gradual change I hope to witness.😃

You were exactly right about this...although, the way they showed it made it clear that it was not Paakhis humiliation but Lavs uncouth behavior that was noticed by all...Pakhi was just zapped...but was intelligent enough to notice what was said was about Lavs dislike of her...not about Paakhis lack of anything...😃

Thanks. 😊

I am not saying he will fall for Paakhi simply because he is lonely, but before he is able even to become attracted to Paakhi in the first place, he has to learn how to feel and understand emotions. Only then will he even notice her presence to start noticing other things like her beauty, her kindness, her intelligence. Right now, more than a person, Paakhi is just an obstacle to overcome for him. The first step is for him to actually perceive human beings other than himself.

Class = slavery to another culture...😔

French, Italian, German people are so proud of their culture...why do we Indians feel the need to imitate?

Yes I agree with you . we Indians are hypocrite...It is in our blood...Lavanya is an example...😡
