Bigg Boss 7: Armaan Kohli Arrested, Gauahar-Kushal Responsible?
British singer-actress of Pakistani origin Sofia Hayat, who was a wild-card entry on Bigg Boss 7, filed a police complaint against co-contestant Armaan Kohli. According to her complaint, Armaan allegedly assaulted her with a mop, causing pain and trauma to her, including verbal abuse.
Sofia's complaint was booked by Santacruz police station, and since the crime-scene falls in Lonavla jurisdiction, the case was transferred to Lonavla police station. Further charges of sexual harassment have also been filed against Armaan Kohli. Sofia in her complaint has accused Armaan of using gestures that outraged her modesty, and further alleged that Armaan used abusive words, and later sexually molested her. The police have booked Armaan underSections 324, 509, 506 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code, most of which are serious sexual harassment charges.
The Lonavla police approached the Bigg Boss production team in Lonavla, asking for the unedited footage. The case is being handled by inspector Vishnu Pawar of the Lonavla police station.
Sofia Hayat during her stay inside the Bigg Boss 7 house had verbal spats with almost every housemate, but the most violent ones were with Armaan Kohli. If you closely look at the situation in question, and the episodes which are already aired - then Kushal was often seen instigating Sofia against Armaan. The advice of filing a police complaint was also given to Sofia by Gauahar Khan and her boyfriend Kushal Tandon, who were more than eager to send Sofia home on the day the fight happened. They even packed her bags quickly, but only after Bigg Boss intervened and explained to Sofia about her decision taken in rage, she changed her mind.
These developments are leading to many questions: If Sofia can file such a serious complaint against Armaan, then can Andy too file even more serious complaint against Kushal? Kushal had exhibited physical violence, with clear intent of killing Andy, which too had caused serious trauma for Andy. Situation went so out of control, that in spite of having differences with Andy, Armaan stood up for Andy to protect him from Kushal.
Armaan Kohli on other hand has grave anger issues, something which he is entirely unable to control. He has even fought with his only support system in the house Tanisha Mukerji, including almost every housemate. Bigg Boss 7 team should have considered their decision of bringing Armaan Kohli on the show, knowing about his condition. But, now he is on the show, and everyone knows that if provoked the man loses his cool, and immediately indulges into abuses. Then why did Kushal motivate Sofia during the toy-factory task, to throw the opposite team's material out of the house? Also, why Sofia kept on teasing Armaan most of the time, making funny faces, and even addressing him in a bad manner in first place?
The unfortunate event happened during the captain selection task by Bigg Boss, during which the housemates were asked to sit in a small car. According to Armaan, Sofia brought a mop, and in attempt to clean the car, sprayed dirty water on Tanisha. In an attempt to snatch the mop away from her, Sofia got hurt. Armaan said that he had no intentions of hurting Sofia, and he has maintained that it was an accident. How is this a sexual molestation case? Later, when Sofia threatened to leave the show, Kushal and Gauahar stood by her. They wanted her to leave the show, and file a police complaint against Armaan. Also, when Bigg Boss convinced Sofia to stay back, there was no happiness visible on their faces. It all looked like they wanted her to leave the show at any cost.
Apparently, Sofia had her first verbal spat with Gauahar, when she questioned Gauahar's "being always fair" attitude. Sofia had also walked out of a conversation with Gauahar initially, which had shocked Gauahar.
Also, there is one major question which is still unanswered: If Armaan really physically molested Sofia, then why Bigg Boss didn't eliminate him at the very moment? The question can only be answered once the investigations are finished. But if proved that Sofia's charges are correct, then it questions the credibility of the entire show, which already has been questioned a number of times.
There is also one more theory: Gauahar who knows how to manipulate and use people for her benefits to stay on the show, might have pushed Kushal to instigate Sofia, or either Kushal did it himself - one thing is very clear, that Sofia was motivated and was under heavy influence by Kushal to indulge into fight with Armaan. The same policy which has been followed from first week itself: when nominated, fight with Armaan, get the footage from him, make him more angry, make it more dirty.
Armaan definitely has to be blamed for misbehaving with everyone, especially the female housemates. His behavior has been very confusing. But, in all this, what he did was: he exposed his weakness so loudly to others at a place where everyone is playing a dirty game, and can manipulate and target it strategically for their own gains. Hope, this is a lesson for Armaan, who has a history of being in trouble due to his anger issues, which is very well-known to other housemates, especially Kushal who has claimed to be Armaan's friend and visiting Armaan's mom, who apparently passed off her message asking Armaan to stay away from Andy.
Sofia has not stopped talking about this incident since the day she was evicted from the show. From accusing Salman Khan to a rage of sensational interviews, she has been on an unstoppable spree. Perhaps, this is the only time she would ever get the media coverage, except few semi-naked shoots here and there. Also, there might be some heavy PR machinery working with her, further guiding her. Who knows!
But, for now, it all rests in the police files, and only once their investigation is complete can the truth be known.
