[Maan's POV]

We all moved out of the mansion using the secret path which is the one of live examples of Dadaji's foresight. We would use this path inorder to dodge the press or any public encounter around the mansion. This path leads us out of the mansion opening up to a secluded road at a safe distance from the mansion. This was the best option as of now so we can easily begin our search for Maa and Geet without coming in the notice of the unknown enemy who is spying on us. We all parted and drove off in our respective directions promising to keep each other updated about any breakthrough. With Commissioner Uncle's personal favor and help we could manage to stay well connected even in unfavorable circumstances.

It is evening now but still couldn't get hold of any clue or advance. Each moment adding on to my worry for Maa and Geet. I wonder in what condition would they be, Geet is very fussy about food and off late she has been neglecting her diet in her new found excitement. I can clearly sense her restlessness, her anxiety and fear in these circumstances. She must have bawled her eyes out crying on her folly. I know she wouldn't have eaten a morsel of food. Though with Maa being with her I am a bit relieved knowing she will somehow console and comfort her. I just hope Maa, Geet and the baby are fine!

"Babaji Geet ko aap pe poora vishwaas hain ke aap sab theek karte hain bas unhe surakshit rakhna, har unhonee se bachaana...hum pe meher karna! Koi raasta dikha do Babaji, koi madad bhej do!" I look up and pray earnestly.

I look ahead to concentrate on the road I see a small roadside dhabha I immediately pull up the car and get down carrying their photo expecting to find some clue. I move towards the dhaba owner and inquire about the place he looks at me suspiciously as this is forest area and many anti-nationals have ulterior motives, not wanting to let go of this chance I slowly confide in him the reason of my inquiry. I show him Geet and Maa's pic, he looks at the pic carefully but then nods in negative crashing all my hopes. I drag myself towards the car when he runs up to me calling me.

"Sabji maine inhe toh nahi dekha hain lekin aaj poore din mein teen chaar gaadiyaan yahan se aage ki taraf gayi hain, ek do wapas shaher ki taraf gayi hain lekin do ya teen gaadi wapas nahi aayi hain. Yeh raasta jungle ki taraf jaata hain aage aur koi raasta nahi hain issiliye jo gaadi aage jaati hain usse wapas yahin aana padta hain."

I request him to remember any person, the car number or anything which can help me thats when he stated.

"Ek aadmi ne gaadi rok ke paani kharida tha Rs100 deke bhaag gaya aur kuch yaad anhi aa raha hain."

I thank him and am about to start the car when he advises me.

"Sabji bura mat maaniye lekin shaam ho gayi hain aur iss waqt jungle mein jaana khatre se khaali nahi (very risky), yahan se kuch doori par ek choti basti (a small settlement) hain aap aaj raat wahan ruk jaayiye. Basti ke aage jaate hi ghana jungle shuru hota hain. Sabji aur ho sakta hain basti mein aap ko koi madad mil jaaye." I nod affirmatively and drive off.

"Main aa raha hoon Geet! Tum bas himmat rakhna tumhaara Maan bahot jald tumhaare paas hoga!" I mumble more to myself.

THE DEN

[Geet's POV]

After the confrontation with Maa, Dev had left for somewhere. Every passing moment here felt like a lifetime. I hated myself for being a fool to have not listened to Maan. I was missing Maan, my heart was beating rapidly like I could feel him near me and my restlessness was worrying Maa.

"Geet itna stress tumhari liye theek nahi hain, tumhe apna khayaal rakhna hoga bete." She tried to calm me but...

"Main kya karu Maa! Yeh sab kuch meri hi galti hain, sab meri wajah se hua hain. Maine Maan ki baat nahi suni, unse itni badi baat chupayi. Woh kitna pareshan (worried) ho rahe honge. Agar main pehle hi Maan ko unn phone calls ke baarein mein bata deti toh yeh sab nahi hota." I regretted.

"Bilkul sahi keh rahi ho tum Geet! Jiske paas dimaag hi na ho toh usse istamal karne ki koshish nahi karni chahiye. Dekho ab tumhari bewakoofi ki wajah se kya ho gaya lekin tum bilkul fikar mat karo main tumhara yahan poora khayaal rakhungi aakhir tum meri ex-bahu jo ho." Ayesha Khanna (AK) bickered sarcastically as she entered with Dev.

"Ayesha tum..." Maa tried to speak out but was interrupted by AK.

"Welcome Mrs Aparna Singh Khurana! Aap ko yahan dekh ke mujhe bilkul bhi khushi nahi hui. Magar kya kare galat waqt (wrong time)aur galat jagah (wrong place) par hona aur hamesha mere raaste mein aana tumhari poorani aadat jo hain." Sensing the tension building up between the two ladies Dev spoke out.

"Mom mujhe kuch zaroori kaam hain, main chalta hoon. Aap inn dono par nazar rakhiye."

"You don't worry Dev, lekin shaam hone aayi hain stay alert and be careful aur jaldi wapas aa jaana."

"Hmm.." Dev nodded and left giving a quick meaningful glance towards Maa. Soon as Dev left Ayesha turned towards us.

{Usually I don't give English translations in my updates but this convo is very important and crucial in this FF and if I write it as a narrative in English it would not have given that desired effect so I am giving English translations for this convo. I hope you all like this confrontation}

"Well...well...well...Look who's here? The mighty and powerful Khurana bahu's and not to forget the would be Khurana heir! Oh!I just can't believe my luck today!"

"Kehte hain na har insaan ka waqt aata hain, kal tumhaara tha aaj mera hain! Gaur se dekho Aparna kal tumhari wajah se main barbaad (ruin) hui thi, iss Geet ki wajah Maan ne mere Dev ko kahin ka nahi choda. Lekin aaj tum aur tumhaari yeh bahu dono hi mere reham-o-karam (at my mercy) par ho. Khurana's ki dukhti rag (weakness) ab mere haathon mein hain. Khurana's ne har baar, baar baar hume barbaad kiya...." She barked but Maa didn't let her complete.

[It is truly said everybody gets a chance, yesterday you won now its my turn! Years ago I was ruined by you Aparna and Geet was the reason, your son Maan ruined my Dev but today the tables have turned and both of you are at my mercy. I have got hold of Khurana's weaknesses as they have always ruined me....]

"Khurana's ne nahi balke tumhari badchallni, dhokebaazi aur laalach ne tumhe aaj iss mod par lakar khada kiya hain."

"Ek ameer(rich) aadmi ko apne pyaar ke jaal mein phasakar (trap) usse blackmail karna. Aur tumne Rajiv Singh Khurana ko apna target banaya. Khurana Constructions mein Rajiv ki secretary bankar aana, usse trap karne ki koshish karna sab kuch planned tha. Par afsos! (But alas) aisa hua nahi...kitni koshish ki tumne par haar gayi. Phir tumne Rocky ki madad se Rajiv ko ek business party mein drug kar diya aur hamaare hi hotel ke official suite mein Rajiv ke saath compromising positions mein photos click kiye, jisse tum future mein blackmailing ke liye hamaare khilaaf istamaal (use) kar sako."

[You etched out a perfect plan to trap a rich man in your so called love and then blackmail him. You chose Rajiv as your target to implement your plan. Taking up the job as Rajiv's secretary in KC and then try to woo him but you failed miserably. Then teaming up with your boyfriend you drugged Rajiv in one of the business party and escorted him to one of our official suites in the hotel, where you clicked photos of Rajiv and you in compromising positions with the sole intention to blackmail him in future.]

"Woh toh kisi Sheikh ki tempting offer ki wajah se tum hamaari zindagi se uss waqt door chali gayi aur Sheikh se shaadi kar li. Jo tumhe chahiye tha woh sab tumhe mila paisa, status, accha ghar lekin tumne uski bhi izzat nahi rakhi. Sheikh ki biwi hote hue, Rocky ke saath naajayaz rishta rakha aur pregnant bhi ho gayi. Sheikh ko tum dono ke baare mein pata chal gaya aur usne tumhe apni zindagi se nikal diya, Rocky ne bhi tumhe apnane se inkaar kar diya aur kisi ameer aurat se shaadi kar li aur tum bilkul akeli reh gayi."

[Luckily you were lured by some Sheikh's tempting marriage proposal and settled down leaving our lives for good. You achieved all that you wanted money, status, mansion etc but you didn't value that nor were you faithful to your husband. Being married you still kept physical relations with Rocky and got pregnant. Sheikh caught you red handed and divorced you. Rocky too refused to accept you and the baby and married some other rich woman leaving you all alone.]

"Aparna..." Ayesha Khanna shouted but Maa continued.

"Arre tum toh apne bacche ko bhi abort kar deti par pregnancy mein complications the issliye majbooran (forcibly) tumhe Dev ko janam dena pada. Phir tum wapas India aa gayi Dev ko apna trump card banakar Rajiv ko blackmail karne ke iraade se, hain na. Woh toh Bhagwaan ka shukar tha ke Papa ne tumhaare saare plans fail kar diye aur humaare paas uss hotel suite ke saari CCTV footage thi warna mera ghar, mera rishta, mera parivaar sab kuch toot jaata."

[Ayesha you would have immediately aborted your child hadn't there been complications in your pregnancy. So forcibly you gave birth to Dev. Then you planned to use him as a trump card and came back in our lives to blackmail Rajiv of Dev's parentage. It was by God's grace that Papa exposed your plan in time and we got all the CCTV footage of the suite as proofs against your accusations otherwise you would have succeeded in your attempt of breaking my relation, my home and my family.]

"Oh! Tum mujhe mera ateet yaad dila rahi ho, mujhe sab yaad hain samjhi, sab kuch...kaise sirf tumhari wajah se main Rajiv ki zindagi ka hissa nahi ban paayi, tumhare baccho ki wajah se mere Dev ko sab kuch khona pada, tumhare parivaar ki wajah se uss Ranjit Singh Khurana ne mujhe kahin ka nahi choda. "Meri nahi tumhare gunahon ki wajah se aaj tum barbaad hui ho. Main nahi tum hamaari zindagi mein zeher gholne aayi thi, mera ghar , mera rishta tod ne aayi thi. Chahte toh hum tumhe arrest bhi karwa sakte the lekin sirf Dev ki wajah se tumhe chod diya. Itna kuch hone ke baad bhi zindagi ne dobara tumhe mauka diya Aman Bhaisaab (ABS) ke roop mein. ABS ne tumhe tumhaare ateet ke saath apnaya, apne ghar, apni zindagi aur apne dil mein jagah di. Dev ko dil se apna beta mana, kabhi Dev aur Pari ke beech koi farak nahi kiya aur tumne badle mein unhe kya diya dhoka, fareb, bewafaai!"

[Not me but your own deeds dug your grave. You came in our life with ulterior motives to break my marriage, my family. We could have got you arrested then but we let you go thinking about Dev's future. After all that you did life gave you a second chance when ABS entered your life. He accepted you in his house, in his life, in his heart knowing your past. He accepted Dev wholeheartedly as his son, never differentiated between Dev and Pari and what did he get in return your betrayal, deceit and adultery]

"Pari ne tumhe Maa mana aur tum uss Rocky ke saath mil kar usse hi kidnap karnewali thi. Chi..."

"Yeh jhooth hain maine aisa kuch nahi kiya, maine bhi dil se Pari ko apni beti mana tha, main usse kidnap nahi karnewali thi woh toh sirf mera ek plan tha Rocky se badla lene ka aur Aman ne sab galat samajh liya. Rajiv aur tumne mauke ka faayda uthaya aur Aman ko mere khilaaf bhadkaya...."

[This is not the truth. Even I accepted Pari as my own child, I wasn't going to kidnap her. It was just my plan to frame Rocky and Aman misunderstood everything. Rajiv and you took advantage of the situation and brainwashed Aman...]

"Nahi Ayesha humne aisa kuch nahi kiya. Hum toh khush the yeh dekh ke ABS ka ghar bas raha hain. Rajiv ne sab bhula diya tha, yeh soch kar ke tum sudhar gayi ho, Dev aur Pari ko maa-baap ka pyaar mil raha hain, unhe ek accha bhavishya milega lekin tumhara toh koi aur hi iraada tha."

[No Ayesha we didn't do any such thing infact we were so happy that ABS was settling down again thought you have learnt your lesson. Both the kids will get a family and will have a happy and secured future but you had other plans.]

"Sharda Maasi (Aman's mother in law) ne khud Rocky ko aadhi raat ko tumhare room mein dekha tha aur ABS ko unhone ne phone kar ke wapas bulwaya. ABS ne tumhari aur Rocky ki Pari ko kidnap karne ki saari planning khud suni thi. Tumhara yeh dhoka woh bardaasht nahi kar paaye lekin phir bhi marne se pehle unhone Dev aur Pari ki zimmedaari Maasi aur Rajiv ko di taake tumhaare bura saaya dono baccho pe na pade aur unka future secured aur safe rahe lekin hamaari har koshish ke bawajood (inspite of all efforts) tum Dev ko gumrah karne mein kamyaab ho gayi. aur apni tarah galat raaste pe le aayi."

[Sharda Maasi had seen Rocky sneaking into your room late night, she called AMS and informed him about the happenings here thereby ordering him to come back immediately. ABS himself overheard all your planning about Pari's kidnapping and couldn't bear the shock of your true being. Before dying ABS authorized Maasi and Rajiv as the legal guardians of the kids and made sure that both the kids are away from you so they get a safe and secured future but inspite of all our efforts you did manage to brainwash and misguide Dev, provoking him against all of us to take up the path of crime just like you.]

"Dekho Ayesha ke tum apne khud ke bete ko kahan le aayi ho. ABS ne kya zindagi sochi (dreamt) aur chuni (chose) thi Dev ke liye, sapna tha unka ke Dev...Khanna Cement ka MD, unke empire ka maalik bane aur aaj sirf tumhaari wajah se woh dar dar bhatak raha hain, sabse chup raha hain. Joh Dev, Aman Khanna ka guroor tha aaj tumne usse ek criminal bana diya! Sharam aani chahiye tumhe...tum na ek acchi beti ban paayi, na ek acchi biwi aur na ek acchi maa arre tum toh insaan kehlane ke laayak bhi nahi rahi!" Maa concluded exposing her true face.

[See for yourself Ayesha where have you got your own son. AmanBS had always dreamed of a better and brighter future for Dev. Seeing him as the future MD of Khanna Cements, the owner of the whole empire but today your deeds has destroyed his future. He was ABS's pride but you transformed him into a mere criminal. Shame on you...you could never be a good daughter, never a faithful wife nor a good mother. You are unfit to be called good human being too.]

"Just shut up...just shut up Aparna! Yeh mat bhulo ke tum dono mere kabze mein ho, main chahu toh kuch bhi..."

"Kuch nahi kar sakti tum! Jab tak hum theek hain tab tak tum zinda ho...Hum dono tumhari dhaal (sheild) hain Ayesha! Till date considering our relations with ABS, Dev and Pari's future we let you go scott free but not anymore. This time I will make sure you are punished for all your crimes.]

"WAH!!!! Aparna abhi toh tum Dev ke bhavishya (future) aur mamta (maternal emotions) ki baatein kar rahi thi aur ab tum hume sazaa dilwane ki baat kar rahi ho! Aaa gayi na dil ki baat mooh par."

"Sazaa sirf tumhe dilaungi, Dev ko toh main tumhaare jaal (trap) se nikal hi doongi!"

"Accha...woh kaise?" She asked amused.

"Tumhara yeh asli chehra dikha ke. Aaj tak hum sab tumhaara sach chupa rahe kyunki hum nahi chahte the ke dono bacche apni Maa se nafrat kare lekin ab unke bhavishya (future) aur behtari (betterment) ke liye tumhara sach ka saamne aana bahot zaroori hain."

[By revealing your true face. Till date we didn't disclose your truth to both the children cos we didn't want them to hate their mother but now having their future at stake we will surely expose all your doings.]

"Tum kahogi aur woh maan lega...Ha ha ha...Aparna kaise saabit karogi tum ke maine yeh sab kiya hain, kaise saabit karogi tum ke Dev...Rajiv ki aulad nahi hain, uska asli baap Rocky hain, kaise saabit karogi tum Aman ki maut ki sacchaai? Tum Khurana's ki wajah se Aman ki saari property mere haathon mein aate aate reh gayi. Woh Rajiv, chaukidaar (watchman) ki tarah Aman ke business ko guard karta hain lekin ab aisa kuch nahi hoga. Dev mera beta hain aur woh sirf meri baat sunega aur jeet bhi sirf meri hogi!

[You think he will believe you...Ha ha ha...Aparna how will you prove all that I have done, how will you prove that Dev isn't Rajiv's son but Rocky is his biological father, how will you prove that I was the reason for Aman's death. You Khurana's are the reason I had to do away with Aman's property, that Rajiv safeguarded Aman's business till date but not anymore. Dev is my son and he will do as I say. I will surely win this time.]

"Nahi Ayesha jeet (win) hamesha sach (truth) ki hoti hain. Tum kal bhi haari thi aur aaj bhi harogi kyunki buraai (evil) se kai zyaada taqatwar acchaai (good) hoti hain."

" Jeet Aman ki parvarish (upbringing) ki hogi tumhaari paidaayish (birth) ki nahi...Yeh mera ek Maa ka vishwaas (belief) hain!" Maa proclaimed proudly.

[Dev's POV]

I had no idea what my future had stored for me! In a matter of seconds my whole life crashed like a pack of cards...my whole being shattered...my whole life worthless and my birth...shame!

I never wanted to engage myself into a conversation with Mrs Khurana, there has always been something with her around that would calm my restlessness, make me feel relaxed and relieved. There was a distinct magnetic pull which I always experienced towards her!

The emotions that rose in me by just being in her proximity would confuse and frustrated me. I hated this feeling so would always avoid face her. Her eyes spoke volumes and I didn't want to give in but today, those eyes were voicing a different language which neither my heart nor mind could ignore!

There was so much aggression, confidence, pride yet an evident satisfaction in her tone. Her each word accompanied with the gleam in her eyes had compelled me to abide to her request.

I had immediately left from here after our confrontation and had somehow persuaded Mom to come here making an excuse of going around this place to inspect the surroundings thoroughly to be on a safer side. She had reluctantly agreed. The moment we entered things started heating up between Mom and Mrs Khurana. I could clearly feel the friction between them, so taking the first possible opportunity I walked out, but not before glancing towards Mrs Khurana and she immediately took the cue.

Their confrontation and my Mom's defiance and then her declaration came as hardest and harshest blow of reality right in my face. It felt like the truth had not only snatched the land beneath me but had doomed me forever!

I aimlessly dragged myself walking away from the light as the darkness plunged around engulfing my worthless being into it!

[Maan's POV]

I hadn't even covered a few metres when Dadaji's call forces me to hit the breaks. I update him on the information recieved and he too advices me to not to enter the forest area in the night. Commissioner Uncle who too is hearing our convo as the call was on the speaker immediately cautions me against attempting any such stunts. Knowing me and my daring attitude he adds.

"Maan meri baat dhyaan se suno jungle mein raat ko ek choti si roshni (a spark of light) bhi bahot door tak nazar aati hain, agar Geet aur Bhabhi ko wahan aas-paas rakha gaya hain, toh tumhari ek galti hume bahot bhaari padegi. Hosh se kaam lo kuch hi ghanton ka sawaal hain." He warns me.

"Maan koi galti mat karna beta! You have to keep your calm and be focussed. Tum hamaari baat sun rahe ho na?" Dadaji anxiously inquired.

"Dadaji don't worry main koi galat kadam nahi uthaunga. Main basti ki taraf jaa raha hoon aur koshish karunga ke wahan se kuch aur information le pao. Jungle mein toh main kal subah hi jaaunga." I promised.

"Maan what are you planning?" Dad queried.

"Dad iss waqt main kuch nahi bata sakta, basti mein jaa kar hi pata chalega aage mujhe kaise aur kya karna hain! Aap sabse keh dijiye ke woh log kisi acchi jagah par ruk jaaye pata nahin aage network hoga ya nahi. I will try to update all of you about my plan by tomorrow."

"Maan as a major hydel project construction is going on in that region so you will not have any network issues so we all will be in touch. Just take care and all the best!" Commissioner Uncle asserted.

I hung up and drove ahead.

[Geet's POV]

"Geet kuch kha lo beta...hum jabse yahan aaye hain tumne kuch nahi khaya hain...apne liye na sahi bacche ke liye hi ha lo...Please bete." Mom urged me.

"Nahi main nahi khaungi, mera baby jaanta hain aur mujhe samajhta bhi hain, main inn logon pe bharosa nahi kar sakti, yeh log kuch bhi kar sakte hain Maa." I admitted my fear.

"Main samjhti hoon issliye tum yeh flavoured milk pee lo, yeh sealed hain aur Babaji pe bharosa rakho woh baby ko kuch nahi hone denge. Geet yeh pariksha ki ghadi hain tum teeno ke liye." Maa asserted.

I looked at Maa confused by her statement when she spoke with determination.

"Haan Geet! Maan ke pyaar, tumhari mamta aur Dev ke sanskaar!"
