CHAPTER SEVENTEEN :
Asad turned back to look in Dilshad's direction. His anger boiled up as he saw Sophia coming inside happily.
'Asad let me talk to her.' Sohail Shah said to him while Dilshad walked toward him to take him away but it was too late for Sophia.
'Hi Asad ! You here ? What a surprise ?' She smiled surprisingly as soon as she came inside the room. Dilshad noticed his hands clenched into fists as he tried hard to control himself.
'Asad don't !' Dilshad said sternly but he didn't wait for a moment and slapped her as hard as he could.
'I hope you liked the surprise.' He said angrily while holding her from her shoulders.
'Asad !' Sohail Shah came forward and moved him back while standing in the middle of Asad and Sophia who was rubbing her cheek now.
'How dare you ? How dare you say all that to my wife ? You think I am a fool who would play with you in this stupid game ?' Asad asked pointing his finger toward her ignoring Mr Shah in the middle. Dilshad came forward and took Asad a little far from her while Sophia was still looking at him in disbelief.
'Is it true what he is saying Sophia ?' Mr Shah asked her as soon as he saw Asad going a bit far.
'No Dad ! He is lieing. Its his wife who is accusing me and he is mad about her that he can't see her mistake even and blaming me for everything at the end.' Sophia tried to convince him in one go while Asad tried to go toward her again but was stopped by Dilshad.
'But you told me that he divorced her a year back ?' Sohail Shah asked her in stern tone while Sophia looked at him as she wasn't expecting that she would be stuck in her own trap.
'Dad she --- she hates him --- you know I love him --- right ?' She stammerred and a tear fell from her eye while Asad and Dilshad were shocked at her confession.
'But he is married. How can you ruin his life ? What about his wife ? You have any idea what she must be suffering from ?' Sohail Shah asked her angrily while Sophia looked down and back up at him confidently.
'I have done nothing. I love him but that doesn't mean I will do anything unethical to get him. Zoya is lieing, she just wants us to fight.' She protested.
'She can never lie to me.' Asad said loud enough for her to hear while she was getting annoyed with his trust issues over her.
'Asad she doesn't love you. She told me ---- by herself ---- this marriage was against her will.' Sophia said between her soft sobs and tried to convince him again. Asad was going to answer her when Dilshad interrupted them.
'Sophia !' Dilshad stopped her to say further while coming toward her. 'This is the last time you are blaming Zoya for anything she never did.' Dilshad said sternly while Mr Shah didn't stop her and looked away as he couldn't face them anymore. 'And now coming to the point ! We all know already that what you tried to do but that doesn't mean you accomplished. Zoya is my daughter-in-law and will always remain one.' Dilshad continued in the same tone. 'Now I would really appreciate it if you would agree on what you did and tell Zoya everything about ---' Dilshad stopped as she looked at her smiling face.
'I agree I did all this but I won't tell anything to Zoya.' She said in sarcastic tone and looked at Asad who was standing behind Dilshad while Sohail Shah looked back at Sophia in disbelief. 'If I won't get you then she won't get you too.' She said with a faint smile on her face.
'I think you are daydreaming Sophia Shah because I know she can stay angry on me but she can't live without me and I will make sure that she is back soon.' said Asad proudly.
'If that is the case then why are you going to New York ? Let her come by her own.' She asked annyoingly while Asad understood that she was trying to challenge him.
'It doesn't matter if I go or not I know she will come anyway, I have enough trust on her. I am going because I can't see her in pain. I love her.' He explained as he was sure that Zoya will talk to him if not now then in a week or two to blame him for everything he never did.
'Then what were you doing all this time with me ?' She asked angrily.
'I was just doing my business.' He snapped back.
'Business ? To hell with business. If you are not interested in me then I don't need to work with you. Cancel all the deals, I don't want any benefit from you professionally.' She said angrily as she wanted him to cancel the contract so she can take the next step to trap him.
'Asad lets go. You don't need to answer her for anything.' Dilshad said to him as she was not interested in talking to her anymore.
'Asad if you need my help then I am always there for you. I will talk to Zoya and tell her everything Sophia did.' Sohail Shah said to him guiltily and Asad walked out of the house.
'I am sorry Dilshad Bi for all her mistakes but I am ready to help you ----' Sohail Shah said to Dilshad with tears in his eyes while Sophia interrupted him.
'Dad you don't need to do that. This is my problem.' She said annoyingly as she couldn't see her father pleading for forgiveness. Dilshad looked at his guilty face and then back at Sophia.
'Its because of girls like you that parents don't wish to have a daughter. Girls like you should be buried alive when they are born.' Dilshad said with hate in her tone while Sohail Shah looked away to hide his tears. Sophia was about to answer her when Dilshad walked out of the room.
'Just do as I say. Inform Miss Shah right now that I have cancelled all their contracts.' Dilshad heard him talking angrily to someone on the phone while pacing in the driveway.
'I am ready to pay the penalty cost. Just do it we will talk further about the termination costs later.' said Asad to Mr Sharma and cancelled the call.
'Asad just calm down. Believe me I will bring Zoya back.' Dilshad said to him while coming toward him.
'Ami --- I -- ' He wasn't sure what should he say. He felt like killing himself as he couldn't recognise Sophia before it was too late. He kicked the tire of the car and rubbed his forehead trying to control his emotions.
'Asad I understand what you are going through but just believe on yourself, Zoya is just unaware of the facts. I will tell her everything and I know she still trusts you. This is just a misunderstanding.' Dilshad tried to convince him again while he sat in his car.
'Ami lets go home. We are leaving for New York in the evening.' He said to her and she sighed sadly while sitting beside him.

Asad was done with his packing when he heard some noises coming from downstairs. He sighed and ignorred it while continuing his packing but was interrupted when his cellphone started ringing.
'Yes Mr Sharma ?' Asad asked while putting his shirts in the suitcase while Dilshad entered in his room to tell she is ready to go.
'What ?' Dilshad heard him saying on the phone worriedly. 'Why didn't you tell me that before ?' He asked on the phone annoyingly.
'Ok. I will talk to you later.' He said and disconnected the call and threw his phone on the bed.
'What happened Asad ?' Dilshad asked him worriedly and he sat on the bed while rubbing his forehead.
'Now I understood why she wanted me to cancel the contract I signed with her company.' Asad said in low voice while Dilshad understood that he was talking about Sophia.
'What did she do now ?' Dilshad asked him.
'She doesn't care that I am trying to ruin her business. All she wants is to keep me away from Zoya.' said Asad annyoingly while Dilshad looked at him confusedly and sat beside him. 'Ami she put a clause in the contract that if I cancel the contract then I have to give brief discription about why I am doing this to all the team members. So she called a meeting for tomorrow evening to know the reason even though she knows already and I have no other option other than attanding as she will sue me if I didn't attend.' He told her everything while looking at her.
'I don't know why she is doing all this because I don't see her getting anything at the end.' said Dilshad confusedly.
'She is getting satisfaction that Zoya is away from me but I won't let that happen because you will go to New York for sure tonight. I will join you day after tomorrow.' Asad said to her hopefully while Dilshad smiled.
'I guess I won't need you to come there. I am alone enough to fix her mind. Just deal with Sophia and I will bring her back in two days or soon.' Dilshad said to him and he smiled as he had full trust on her words.

He came back home after closing Sophia's chapter professionally but he could bet that she didn't care at all even though she was ruining her father's business. He took out his phone while walking upstairs to call Dilshad but her phone was still switched off.
He was getting worried now so he called Zoya to confirm if Dilshad is there with them. Call was picked up by Ayat asusually while Asad missed hearing Zoya's cheerful voice on the phone.
'Hello Abu !' Ayat said again and he came out of his thoughts while going inside his room.
'Hi Shona ! How are you ?' He asked while sitting on the couch.
'Not sho good abu. I am misshing you.' She said sadly while making Zoya's sketch book colorful with her coloring skills.
'Well I am glad that someone is missing me.' He said sadly. He shared his thoughts with her as if he was talking to his friend.
'No abu ! Ami alsho misses you.' She told him while he was happy to know that. He knew Ayat won't lie to him.
'How can you say that ?' He asked as he wanted to know more about what was going on there.
'She was crying lasht night and when I ashked her she shaid she is missing you.' She told him and he felt like a stab in his heart. 'But don't tell ami about that. She told me not to tell you. Its our Top Shecret Abu.' She said with a mischievous smile on her face.
'Ok. Top Shecret.' He repeated her words after a while. 'Tell me more now ?' He asked with a smile.
'More about what ?' She asked confusedly as she was still not aware that Asad was making her blurt out everything.
'I mean what do you guys do all the time ?' He asked sheepishly as he wanted to know more.
'We went fol shopping yeshterday and ami is making your pictures all the time.' She said while referring to the sketchbook. 'But she doesn't know how to color it sho I am coloring your pictures.' She told him excitedly and he chuckled as he was aware of her coloring skills.
'What colors are you putting on me Shona ?' He asked her with a smile.
'I have made your nose yellow and your eyesie are pinkie and your fach is blue.' She told him while coloring his eyes to give a final touch.
'I guess Zoya will like it. Where is she ?' He said with amusement and asked about Zoya at the end.
'She is talking with Daadi and Naani outshide. I am not allowed to go.' She pouted and he realized that he called to know if Dilshad was there but forgot about her while talking to Ayat.
'Is Ami there ? When did she come ?' He asked confusedly.
'Long time ago.' She said after a while as she was not aware of how many minutes makes an hour.
'And what are they talking about ?' He asked as he was being impatient to know Zoya's reaction after everything.
'How come I know abu ? I am not allowed to go out.' She said and sighed sadly.
'Oh my poor daughter.' said Asad sadly enjoying this stupid conversation. She kept on telling him many stupid things around her while he slept on the bed after changing. She stopped when the door opened and Zoya came inside.
'Ayat is it Asad on the phone ?' Asad was about to fall asleep when he heard Zoya's voice and he opened his eyes again.
'Yesh !' Ayat said happily.
'Give me. I have to talk to him.' Zoya said while stretching her hand infront of her. Ayat was about to give her the phone when Asad stopped her from doing that.
'Shona tell your mother I am sleeping.' He said annoyingly to irritate her while closing his eyes again.
'Haaww abu ! You are lieing. How come you are talking to me when you are shleeping ?' Ayat asked him confusedly to show she was not stupid all the time.
'If Zoya says she is sleeping then she can walk to the bathroom too while sleeping but if I say that I am sleeping then I am lieing. What kind of logic is that ?' He asked annoyingly while Ayat didn't get anything what he meant to say.
'He is shaying he is shleeping.' Ayat said sadly to Zoya as she thought that maybe he is really talking to her while sleeping and Asad chuckled understanding her thoughts.
'Ok. Give her the phone.' said Asad as he couldn't stop himself from talking to her. Zoya took the phone from her hand and he waited for her to speak.
'How can I help you ?' He asked to show that he was not interested while opening his eyes again as he felt the room was dark now and he was sure that he didn't turn off the lights before sleeping.

A/N : I know again a cliffy but it was getting too long and I had to stop anywhere I thought to stop somewhere else but I realized that anywhere I stop, I am leaving so many questions in your mind !! So this is the best cliffy I guess 😆 And ya Sophia's chapter is not closed yet as her punishment is yet to come !! 😉 Till then do like and comment 😃
