Only Yudhishtir reached heaven with a dog behing him when he met all the devtas they all welcomed him but didnt allow the dog to come in which shocked yudi.He said if he and the dog both have reached heaven teh they are both pure souls and should be allowed to enter and that he wont enter without the dog becuase its injustice.The dog was actually god of dharma his father listening to this the devtas claimed that he is truly a dharmatama.

In any case when he entred he was shocked to see all kauravas there ,Devtas explained to him that their death in kurukeshtra had cleansed them of all demerits hence they are all in heaven now.Then yudi looked for his brothers and wife he didnt find them so devtas took him to hell where they were all there and devtas explained to him why.

Even Karan was there becuase Duryodhan depended on karan to kill all pandavas which karan didnt becuase they were his brothers and hence he was unfaithful to duryodhan becuase of which he was in hell.Seeing this yudi was very sad and wanted to stay with his family but devtas explained him that this is a cycle they were in hell right now for their demerits but will be heaven soon because of their merits.Infavt at end of mahabhart yudhishtir doenst go to heaven but is the only one that goes to vaikund(krishna's abode) a place above heaven's.Because he was the only one who got victory over himself

According to Swargabhigamana Parva, if a person has more Punya he/she begets hell first and heaven later. If a person has more Paap, he/she begets heaven first and hell later. Kauravas (Duryodhan and co) were in second cat., hence they went to heaven first and hell later. With Pandavas, it was other way round. Hence, hell first and heaven later.

One imp. point is that Arjuna did not go to heaven, but went to Vaikuntha as said in the following lines:
He beheld Govinda endued with his Brahma-form. It resembled that form of his which had been seen before and which, therefore, helped the recognition. Blazing forth in that form of his, he was adorned with celestial weapons, such as the terrible discus and others in their respective embodied forms. He was being adored by the heroic Phalguna, who also was endued with a blazing effulgence.
