PART 9:
TWO WEEKS LATER-
KHAN VILLA,
8:15 AM-
Everyone were seated on the breakfast table. Except Asya, everyone was busy in talking through signals. Just then Rashid received a call. He had a worried look on his face and as soon as he ended the call, Dilshad asked him, "What's the matter Rashid??"
"Actually, it was Mr. Mittal from our NEW ZEALAND headquarters . He told me that there's some problem which couldn't be solved without our intervention. Our shareholders have some issues. I was wondering how to deal this issue??"
Humeira nudged Ayaan who was silent, "Huh? Oh!! Ya...Ac-Actually Abbu!! What's the big deal?? Asad Bhaijaan can solve that matter. Right Bhai!"
Rashid spoke sadly, "But Asad is busy with the mall construction project and I can't go..."
Badi Bi intervened, "You can't go to New Zealand but you can go to our office here."
"So??" Rashid asked cluelessly.
"You handle the project here and Asad will go there. Problem solved!!" Badi Bi replied. Asad nodded in affirmation.
"But Asad can't go!!" Dilshad finally spoke up.
"But why Ammi??" Asad asked this time.
"Because it had not been even a month that you got married and you'll leave Zoya alone. Not happening!!" Dilshad made her point clear.
Zoya, who was listening silently, spoke up, "But Ammi, it's a matter of few days...no problem at all."
"It can take a long time...10 days...15,,,or even a month Zoya!!" Rashid added in a low voice.
All of them gasped dramatically. Najma suggested excitedly, "You both should go...you can even do some sight-seeing...my friend had been there...she told me that it's an amazing place!!"
"But Zoya will get bored...I'll be busy in business issues." Asad argued.
Dilshad played the last card, "Okay, then Ayaan...Humeira...you also tag along. You also didn't go anywhere after your wedding. After completing his work, Asad will join you and you all can enjoy your vacations too."
"But Ammi..." Asad started but Ayaan and Dilshad glared at him.
Seeing no other chance of escaping the situation, Asad surrendered. He nodded in approval and then took his coat and rushed to his work. Zoya started cleaning up while all others made one or the other excuse and gathered stealthily in Ayra's room. They shook hands and dramatic hugs on success of "MISSION ASAD-ZOYA ON HONEYMOON!!" Ayaan asked, "But Ammi, me and Humeira begum were not in the plan!! Then why suddenly??"
"I realized that they both are too dumb to be married...so if they stay aloof then you two will have to push them towards each other...while enjoying your own honeymoon!!" Dilshad made her point clear.
"Maan gaye tumhe Dilshad!! Iss umr mein bhi yeh planning??"(You are a genius Dilshad!! Even at this age you planned all this??) Rashid said excitedly.
"What do you mean, Rashid??? Am I that old...??" Dilshad asked angrily glaring at Rashid while he cowered under her angry look. All others rolled in laughter seeing Dilshad in "Jhansi Ki Rani" mode.
ASYA ROOM:
Evening, 7:00 pm
Zoya sat on the bed, confused, mumbling to herself, "Allah Miyaan!!! Did Mr. Khan really agree to take me with him to New Zealand??" It was not something that Zoya had expected. Yes, they were on talking terms now but that was too formal to be called a conversation between a husband and wife and that too newly wedded. She was having a hard time thinking what she will do on a trip with such a boring man who kept himself in his shell always. "Allah!! Why is he so hard to crack??" Zoya had tried several times to nudge him to speak about his past but he either changed the topic smartly or told her that he was sleepy. Zoya gave up, understanding that probing him was of no use. Her thoughts were brought to a stop when she heard her sister's excited voice, "Aapi!! We're going to New Zealand!!! Yayy!!"
"Yes Humi. Calm down...you'll soil the bed-sheets and Mr. Khan doesn't like that." She held her jumping sister and made her sit quietly.
"Oh!! When did you become too systematic, Mona?? Ahaan!! Bhaijaan...haan??" Ayaan joked.
Zoya threw a pillow on him which hit his laughing face. He growled and charged towards her but she efficiently dodged him. Soon, all three of them were running behind each other, forgetting who was running behind whom. This is how Asad found his room when he came after a tiring day at work. He had to finish all his pending works before flying. He was ready to blast when suddenly a very clumsy and oblivious Zoya bumped into him. Ayra looked at him and froze in shock, their hands flying to cover their mouths to hide their wide-open mouths. Obviously Ayaan gulped in horror.
Oblivious to all this, Asya were lost in their own world, in each other's eyes (YET AGAIN...YOU ALL CAN IMAGINE WHAT'S PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND!!) Zoya was clutching Asad's shirt tightly around his shoulders while he held her possessively around her waist with one arm and with his free arm he tucked the stray hair lying on her beautiful face and then continued caressing her cheek. Ayaan whispered into Humi's ear, "Abhi toh Honeymoon shuru bhi nahi hua aur yeh dono toh mood mein aa gaye!!" (Their honeymoon has not yet started but they are all set.)
"Bhaijaan, aap kab aaye?? Humne dekha hi nahi!! (When did you come Bhaijaan?? We didn't notice..) Humeira interjected. Asya sprang apart as if they had touched a hot object. They looked down unable to face their siblings. Ayaan chuckled inwardly on seeing their reaction, "Ohk Begum, let's go. We've to do our packing. Let Bhaijaan and Bhabhi do that too." With that Ayra left the room. Ayaan said in whispers, "Did you see them...lost in each other?? Remember?? We used to have such kind of eye-locks during our courtship days..." Humeira replied, smiling at her husband, "Yes dear hubby!! This is the beginning of yet another love story...Asad and Zoya's love story!! We'll get them together...no matter what."
Meanwhile, Asad came out changed into his casuals and brought two huge suitcases from the store room. He called Zoya, "Zoya, I think we should start packing. We'll be leaving tomorrow night."
"What?? Tomorrow...so soon!! How will I pack my stuff in a hurry??" Zoya whined.
"Hurry?? Zoya, we've a whole day!!" Asad asked in shock. Zoya sighed dramatically and explained, "Actually, back in New York, I used to do the packing at least a week before any trip. You know, I'm so forgetful sometimes...so I even forget to put basic stuffs in my bag." Asad shook his head in understanding, "Ya..right!! I know that...but don't worry. How about we make a list of items that we need?? It'll make our task easier."
"Zoya clapped her hands happily, "Oh Mr. Khan!! Have I told you that you think of brilliant ideas!! I never thought of that."
Asad moved out of the room to fetch a pen and paper to make the required list but not before saying, "Actually Zoya, for thoughts to come...we need a functional brain...not an empty skull-box!!" Zoya gaped at his retreating figure, "Allah Miyaan!! Did Mr. Khan cracked a joke on me?? Or were my ears ringing??"
After their fruitful attempt of listing the things to pack, Asya were taking out things from their cupboard and stuffing them in their suitcases. "Zoya, please put some warm clothes too. It's really cold there, these days." Asad advised her. She obediently followed his words and brought a pile of cardigans, winter tops and overcoats. She kept on choosing what to take and what not, a confused look intact on her face. Asad smiled on seeing her like that. They finished packing and then went for dinner as Najma called them.
AS IT IS GOING QUITE LONG AND SOMETHING IS GOING WRONG WITH MICROSOFT WORDS...I'LL HAVE TO UPDATE IT IN TWO PARTS..
