Mom-son are alike. Both are NA worshipper. But of course there are other similarities too.

Very nice comparison Lachii except that I disagree that he wants Astha to be like him and Him to be NA. I think he told Astha indirectly today that if you do not consider me villian means somebody who wants to hurt you , but your bhagwan, somebody who wants to help you, your life will be very easy. He told her to look into herself instead of him as she will find solutions to her problems. He actually wants her to go against traditions so said he told her "that next time you go against may family and traditions and me indirectly I will remove all your dad's problems" and he wiped her tears after that, typical dialogue of Shlok with double meaning.
