I share a love/like-hate relationship with Ranbir and I suppose even Ranveer 😆

I like Ranbir the actor. I trust him to do good movies for the most part and be at least decent in those films (barring the Besharam kinds and I still think he needs work in the rom-com space but that's another story 😆). He can very effortless and charming on screen.

I very rarely like Ranbir the person however...very very rarely..Its one of those few off interviews where he does not talk about the women in his life, does not boast about cheating, being a player, mamma's boy (its total fail when he tries to be cute with that)...and just talks about films and himself..he can be charming when he wants to be and its a rare case when you see for a split second what made perfectly normal and sane women like Deepika/Katrina lose their minds. 😆

Post YJHD...the Ibiza pics and Besharam, I was on my "I can't stand Ranbir" phase...but its amazing how fans influence how you feel about an actor. The constant "Ranbir is over, he is not a star, Ranveer is a bigger star (huh?)" and I dunno what else makes me want to root for him again..so I am back on the Ranbir fan brigade for the time being. 😆

As for Ranveer, I find him both amusing and too out-there for my liking. I can't decide...I think it's just a cancerian-cancerian thing here. 😆 As an actor, he has potential and with the right choices can definitely make it. He should work a bit on his dialogue delivery..like most of the newcomers.

...and Deepika and Katrina. I don't like them, even less with these guys. 😆

And if you don't support them or critize them for what they have done, does that make you any less loyal? Or does that make you a fickle fan?

Critcising an actor whom you like on-screen for something that he does off-screen does not mean that you have shifted loyalties...it simply means, that you are capable of differentiating between the individual and the actor/star/celeb and are not blind towards all their faults and failings.
This is the one issue I have with a lot of Salman fans...that they are completely blind towards what he does and won't even hear a word of criticism against him. That is also proof of his immense starpower.
Ranbir and Ranveer don't have that kind of fan-following right now, they might or might not have it in future, but as of now, if either of them messes up off-screen, they will be hauled over coals for it by their detractors as well as some of their fans.

No, who said you have to support a celebrity through thick and thin 24/7? you're not indebted towards them and even if they don't do something scandalous or crazy you can choose to not support them and I still wouldn't call one fickle.

I think Ranbir's whole image as being "the casanova" is exaggerated. I think it definitely helps him stay in the news, I guess perhaps it also helps this forum get their daily dose of entertainment and whatnot but by no means do I find it a case of dragging him down all the time. His situation is not clearly black or white..it's not like the analogy you're giving here with Salman and his fans. If we were to really nitpick and I've said this countless times before then I can easily pick up say Deepika's past relationships and say was she really faithful to each and every person she was with before she was in a relationship with Ranbir? Or I can also pick up Katrina's relationships and even ask did she cheat on Salman before she started dating Ranbir? Do we know the entire story behind Ranbir-Deepika-Katrina's saga anyway? not really...I also feel Ranbir never really talked about what happened, he never demeaned anyone he was with and not even post the infamous KWK episode. Girls also have the tendency to walk away with the most sympathy in such cases and if they were actually wronged then they should..but as I said this is not a clear black or white scenario like that of Salman's.

Furthermore, if we were to really nitpick then we can easily dissect the personal life of any star and degrade them based upon that. The entire saga associated with PC and SRK is another example. Just because neither of them ever chose to speak about it, we couldn't entirely judge what happened...but there were speculations. The situation with Ranbir is somewhat different because his ex went on national television and told the entire world what exactly happened..but even then, I don't feel the need to put Ranbir on gunpoint and degrade the guy because as I said I find this situation iffy..it's not the same as Salman running over a pedestrian etc. With that said, I'm not saying what Ranbir did or may have done was right..absolutely not and I never even backed the things I've read about this guy...however, I do like to see the flip side to it as well which many others choose not to.

Oh and I do agree with iktaara completely..I've watched many interviews of Ranbir and I said this just yesterday that he has a different side to him but it's overshadowed by the other side we're used to hearing and reading about. A lot of the things he has shared here and there about himself are very intriguing and display this other, rather deep side to him but there's no room to build on that side with the kind of space this guy has landed in..and not just that, just his approach to cinema..the way he speaks about films or his performances, his outlook is all very, very interesting and I like seeing that side to Ranbir through his interviews. Of course, that's not what majority like to ponder on and I don't even blame people with the kind of reputation that he has developed...but I guess there are some people that do put his casanova image aside and take a look at the positives to his offscreen personality..and those people from what I've observed aren't many.

I admit to that too..the constant downgrading of Ranbir nowadays does make me want to root for him more...and the things that you read here can be mindboggling. 😆 As you said, it is amazing how fans can influence how you feel about an actor.

The way I see it with each actress Ranveer works with he is bound to get some fans from that pairing. In the end who people prefer is purely subjective. Will people go all OMG, so many new Ranveer fans increasing if his pairing with Priyanka and Parineeti works as well? I can bet one thing amd is that Ranveer will work damn hard to make sure you fall for these pairings as well though. 😆 It is only beneficial for him.

The only problem is there aren't that many Parineeti and Priyanka fans here though. 😆

As long as outside of IF thinks differently, Ranveer's pairings will likely be accepted. For gunday there were so many priyanka fans on twitter who bugged the director why priyanka did not appear in the teaser? So I think she has a large fan base. It will help ranveer I think.

yeah outside of IF, definitely.

I'm more excited for their pairing in Zoya's film. I think there brother-sister combo onscreen will also be something to look forward to.

I like them both. They're both good actors. Off screen, I prefer Ranveer...his personality is actually what drew me to him. Ranbir can be pretty annoying with his W*F statements especially when he's gearing up for a new release but he always manages to shut me up and win me over with his performances. I can be fickle when it comes to Ranbir I guess but I'll always be a loyal follower of his work and I'll always have a soft spot for him for Barfi..one of my favorite movies ever!

As for the ladies they're involved with, I don't care for Katrina at all and I've recently warmed up to Deepika but I've liked Ranbir and Ranveer longer so her connection to either men doesn't really make a difference to me.

I didn't see any complaints, or people getting all territorial over Ranveer the actor when he was linked with Anushka despite doing two movies back to back with her. News of their relationship used to dominate other aspects of their career too, I think it all boils down to which actress you prefer with him and which one you abhor.

So I find this notion that you have to be just have to be a fan of his acting solely to be considered his true fan rather ridiculous as someone who's followed his work/interviews since BBB and rooted for his pairing with Anu, Sonakshi prior to Ram-Leela and will most definitely do the same with Parineeti.

Thank you. 👏 The way some people are going insane over here if Ranveer gains some new fans, are making me rethink my decision of becoming his vocal fan, here on IF. 😆 I have had my share of territorial fans from television forums. I don't need it here as well. Ranveer has never been out of a relationship. This is one guy who thrives on commitment. His relationships are as much a part of him as his career. And naturally, there will be people who like him based on his relationship choices as well. Ridiculous, really. It really boils down to which actress you prefer with him. Exactly. 😉

Am definitely fan of Ranbir, the actor..He might be a man wh**e in real life but the guy is brilliant onscreen..I still remember that scene where Barfi realizes that Shruthi has moved on and i swear Ranbir was outstanding in that scene..RK, DP and Kat can have a threesome for all i care😆 I hope he stops bullshitting about his personal life and focuses on doing good work😆
