Saraswatichandra is an outdated tale, lovers dying of heartbreak because of separation like romeo and julet, or a man drinking himself to death in Devdas is timeless. but sacrificing ones love and happiness for somebody else selfish reasons is stupidity. i dont see why Kumud should sacrafice Saras for Kusum, when saras is in love with her.
didnt Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV, and Uttran for colours have a track where one sister sacrifices forces her love to marry her sister and nobody lived happily ever after. that was a dumb and stupid story line.
and Saraswatichandra advocates this outdated notion of sacrifice and widows not marrying again.
this is totally regressive thinking. and has no place in our modern society. if woman is not a commodity then neither is a man. and should not be passed from hand to hand at some wimp,
