Hello, I am not sure If I have ever posted anything on this forum. I am not a regular fan of the forum any more but I do still watch my Indian serials. Something's never change eh?

Let me start by introducing myself, I am a 20 year old boy living in England. The topic I want to speak about is the track of individuals thinking about themselves first but not completely neglecting their families wishes/expectations. This was shown with the Nani jee's track previously who was trying to steal the properties etc.

I understand I am a little too late but my thoughts are still here and I thought I'd take the minutes and write it here in the hope that the producers or anyone from the show will hopefully come across and see that what they have done previously was a stunning work.

In western societies at the age of 18 their parents let them move out and say go create your life however you want to. The parents still support their kids but they no longer make decisions for themselves. On the other hand, despite living in western countries, Asian parents even today still try make decisions for their kids. My parents still do even though I am old enough to know the difference between right and wrong. Don't get me wrong, I am not here venting out my anger. there's no regret or anger here at all. Most Asian parents feel that their kid, no matter what age, will always be a kid and therefore will always try to have the autonomy to their children life. This often creates conflict, significantly I must claim. I say this because I've studied subjects that touched up on families and households in the UK and studies often showed that most asian kids were found rebelling against their parents because they wanted a little bit of freedom or at least be asked to make decisions relating their life etc.

There's no denying that Star plus is the no.1 asian tv in the UK and there's no denying that TV shows can often teach one or two thing to the common people out here in our world.

What Pyaar Ka Dard did was absolutely stunning with their previous track in the terms that they highlighted that young individuals can make decisions for themselves if they feel it is right for them. For example in the case of Revati, she knew that she wanted to pursue her dreams in music whilst her step-mother felt that it was best to have her married. These both individuals are right in their place. Nobody was wrong. But what's right for someone else doesn't have to right for you! Not at all and the team portrayed this beautifully.

Adi and Pankhuri did a fantastic job with reiterating constantly that Revati should do what she thinks is best for her not what her mother thinks is best for her. This was a powerful performance and a very powerful thing to do. Because we get brought up in ways where we are so obedient that we sometimes do not have the guts to stand up and say "I really want to do this" because you know sometimes your parents won't agree with this. At the end of the day, that individual has their live his or her life and you live by being happy inside because you and I know that being happy for someone else and for yourself is a completely two different thing!

The show has done an exceptional job at highlighting that sometimes young individuals do need to put themselves first and that doesn't, not in any means, suggest that they do not take into account the norms and values that their parents have given them!

WELL DONE! 👏

I haven't written a post in a long time and I have tried to write my opinions and feelings about this. I hope some of you understand what I'm trying to convey, and if you feel that you want to add anything! You're more than welcome.

Kind Regards

PKDH in this way is higher than other SP shows I think as it also shows a society with a modern outlook towards life, and I like your description of the previous track really I never thought that way!

Totally agree with all your views and opinions!!
PKDH is wonderful like that the way the portray their characters and tracks, sometimes it goes at bit off and gets irritating but i think the end product (forgive the term) is bitter-sweet! Theres something for everyone! 👍🏼

hey there, i was amazed by your post!
it doesnt matter if the track you're talking about is over. atleast, you gave your thoughts regarding the track!

and i really agree on what you wrote. and it really needs guts for a coward like revati who is just listening to her mother all her life to make her decisions! hats off to her!
