"Kya kaha tum ne?"... I shake her a tiny bit because she seems to be in shock ".. Tum ne mujhe kya samjha hai?".
She moves away from me looking at me as if I was a ghost.
"Giit! Main tumse baat kar raha hu...", I step towards her.
She steps back away from me as I keep advancing forward. Her back finally hits the wall and she looks to each side to see how she can run away from me.
I put both my hands on either side of her trapping her to the wall. When she looks like she will duck in the space between us, I move closer to her not giving her space to escape.
I stare down at her angrily. Did she think I was getting married? How dare she? How dare she not trust in me?
Have I ever given her any reason to doubt me? My anger rises some more because she will not look at me.
Har baat ke liye na. Har baar dur rehti hai mujh se. I put a finger beneath her chin raising her eyes to mine forcing her to meet my gaze.
"Inn aankhon mein tumhe koi aur nazar aata hai Giit? Jawab do, mujhe".
She closes her eyes not willing to see me. "Mujhe kuch nahi dekhna. Mujhe jaane dijiye".
"Pehle jawab do Giit. Inn aankho mein tum kya dekhti ho? Tumhare siwa koi aur kabhi tha yaha?", I close the distance between us some more so that our breaths are mingling with each other now.
"Mujhe na hi kuch dekhna hai, na hi kuch samajhna hai. Mujhe jaane dijiye. Aap ki aankhen mujhe samajh nahi aati. Aur ab in pe mera koi haq bhi nahi hai. Chodiye mujhe Mr. Khurana", she squirms trying to get away from me.
Mr. Khurana. That was all the tinder needed for me to explode now.
"Kabhi nahi. Ek baat saaf saaf samajh lo Giit. Tum meri thi, tum meri ho aur tum meri humesha rahogi" I stare her down.
When she refuses to acknowledge me, I argue "Ek toh mere letter ka jawab nahi diya, na koi phone, na koi email; phir bhi maine tumhara intezaar kiya, do saal tak, aur tum mujhe tewaar dikha rahi ho? Ab wohi hoga jo munzoore Maan hoga, warna...", I squeeze her waist bringing her into contact with me.
