After really long there was a perfect episode, not only just brilliant execution and not only just brilliant acting but amazingly brilliant writing on paper. Asad and Zoya from the beginning of this show have been poles apart.,different ideologies and entirely different ways of seeing things and even living them. Both are what they are because of the circumstances life has put them into.
Zoya - Zoya lost her parents at a really young age, she was abandoned but doesn't clearly know why and doesn't want to believe the worst. She chooses to see the brighter in life and chooses to believe her Abbu had a reason to leave her or was forced to do so. In any case, her search for her Abu has made her crave for the love of a parent, which was given to her by her phupi. She doesn't want to lose another parent and does not want Asad to lose her parents because she knows how it feels to stay away without them. Zoya wants to be with Asad wants to give him the love, wants to give him the support but she doesn't want him to leave behind what she thinks he needs to face rather than run from. Zoya though has gone through the worst in life, has never faced bitterness from anyone head on. She is yet to see how low people can stoop and how pathetic their minds can be. Today when she mouthed dialogues which seemed really practical to hear and amazingly soul wrenching, I felt bad for her because she would have to bite back on them when the true face of her Abu comes in front of her and she is left to choose between Abu and what is right. I do not blame her for any of the words she said today and do not blame her for the wavering stands she took either. She has very little to do in all of this than be a bystander.
Asad - This man had to grow years before he would really grow. He took over responsibility after responsibility to father not only his baby sister but his mother too. He and his mother put day and night together to make their life what it is today, so that no one could ever leave them helpless like this ever again. A man who lost a father at such a tender age, but not to God but to another family, who still got his love and care, at the cost of him and his family being abandoned once again, by the one woman who is and will always be the source of his life, blood and flesh. She walks away choosing her husband over her son.. A husband who abandoned her, never stood up for her, never protected her dignity when it was scrapped off her. And she goes without an explanation, without being tender and gentle, without waiting for him. He feels abandoned, once again living all those years once again he had put behind him for his family and for his Zoya too. His brother being snatched again, like he was in his childhood. He couldn't escape when he was a child which he would have rather done at that age, but this time he couldn't take it happening all over again. He only wanted a world of peace and solace where that pain wouldn't bother him again. Zoya did not agree to go, he felt abandoned again, escaping was even more easy now. When no one is with him, why would he stay there? His words today will bite him in the back too, just like Zoya's will to hers. He WILL have to go to his Abu, much before his death, maybe for his Ammi, or who knows for HIS ABU.
Such brilliant characters, and so minutely etched. I cannot even side any of them and will not, because AsYa are one and I don't think any of them is right or wrong.
