Thank you for reading and like i addressed in a previous statement i had no intention (originally) to have Kunal and Dhruv dead or shraddha like this. i kept debating whether i was going too far...maybe going a little too crazy with this idea...but i felt it was necessary to carry on the story line that i have in mind and it will change and make a little bit of sense in the next chapter.

Chapter Four

I felt peaceful...no more hatred, no more blaming...just at rest.

I guess the pills actually worked.

Soon I would be able to see Dhruv and Kunal and apologize for everything I have done.

Something felt soft, really soft.

It kept on going away and then coming back...as if it was teasing my nose.

I thought it stopped and then it would continue and I could hear hushed laughter.

I moaned and moved away from it.

What is that...

Move how I can move...aren't I dead...

But if that is true...how can I still think if...

Something kept on teasing my nose, something soft and fluffy...how is that possible...

I opened my eyes.

And saw brown eyes widened in shock.

I panicked and without knowing it I screamed.

"Shraddha calm down," a voice said.

I continued to scream, closing my eyes shut.

How am I screaming, how is it possible that I can open and close my eyes open and shut if I was...

I felt soft hands close around my mouth and I could smell him.

A mixture between earth and the strong scent of his cologne.

I opened my eyes and saw Kunal staring back at me; a mischievous glint in his eyes.

I could do nothing but stare at him in shock.

I could do nothing but stare at his brown hair that was ruffled, his eyes that were still with that mischievous glint, his nose, and his lips that were tugged into a warm smile.

How it possible...there is is no way...am I dreaming...did I survive...I'm now in a coma?

Must I now relieve each and every moment?

"Sheesh Shraddha I was just teasing you and now you are just screaming like a nutcase. You're acting worse than my mom when she sees us hugging and kissing," Kunal said smiling.

He dropped his hands from my mouth and lifted up a feather.

"I wanted to see if you would wake up and its looks like it worked," he said smiling even more.

How is this possible?

I wanted to reach and touch him, to make sure he was real...but was afraid that he would disappear again.

"Why are you so silent? I know you were mad at me yesterday for working so late but I promise to make it up to you," he said smiling.

His cupped his hands by my cheek and he leaned forward and kissed my forehead.

I felt the warmness of his mouth and it felt so real, so soft, and gentle.

"I'm sorry," he said softly and he kissed my left eye then right.

"I will definitely..." He trailed on as I suddenly wrapped my hands around him.

That felt a little bit too real...

But I didn't think...I didn't care...he was right in front of me, alive, well, and his regular crazy self.

I hugged him closer and soon tears started to fall.

"I'm sorry..." I mumbled over and over, in a chant.

"Shraddha?" Kunal questioned.

"Are you okay? Did I screw up that bad that you're apologizing to me," he said joking.

I ignored and continued hugging him, bringing him closer as if I couldn't get enough of him.

"Shraddha, what's wrong," he said somehow breaking the death-grip I had on him.

I kept on crying and couldn't stop.

"Shraddha I was kidding around I wasn't trying to..." he said trying to wipe away the tears but it kept on spilling out.

"You keep crying how can you hear what I'm saying? You're hiccupping so much I doubt that you can hear anything beyond it," he said joking.

At that I looked up and saw a smile tugging on his lips but his face was etched in concern.

"You're...su...su...such...a bi..big i...i...idiot," I said in between sniffling and hiccupping.

"You are the only one that makes me into an idiot...Shraddha," he said while gazing at me.

I continued to stare at him and he reached up to brush my hair behind my ears.

"See I'm still an idiot that I still somehow find you sexy with mucus starting to fall down your nose," Kunal said.

I looked at him as he went to get a tissue off the nightstand and he wiped it away for me. He placed the tissue aside and leaned back to stare at me.

"Ta-dah now I have my mucus-free Shraddha," he said.

At that I stared at him and more tears started to come out.

"You're such an idiot," I repeated while I started to sniffle again.

"Oh come on Shraddha, I didn't say that to make you cry some more," Kunal said.

He started panicking and he looked like he was confused on what was going on.

"Shraddha I'm sorry...this is not like you what's wrong? Did something happen? Are you hurt? Did Jaya said something again?" he said in annoyance at the last sentence.

"Jaya?" I trailed on confused.

"You visted your parents two weeks ago and you were annoyed and you have been ever since. I figured it has something to do with what she said. I mean I make you angry when I forget about meeting everyone for dinner but not to the point you are crying," Kunal said.

I laughed and Kunal smiled.

"See...there...I got you to laugh again. What's wrong seriously?" Kunal said.

I looked at him and he was getting to be concerned again.

I had no clue what was going on and how it was possible that I was in front of him and he was in front of me but I wasn't going to waste time crying.

If I somehow survived and this was a dream as part of concussion or possible coma that I slipped into then I was going to darn well enjoy the heck out of having him here with me.

I punched him in his arm and smiled.

"Nothing is wrong...plus whatever Jaya said...it's usually nonsense so it makes no difference," I said smiling.

I wiped away the tears that were stuck on my cheek and Kunal grabbed my arm before I could finish.

He brought the palm of my hand closer to his lips and kissed inside of it while he smiled and winked at me.

"I know you're lying to me about what's bothering you but I wish..."

The door opened and Dhruv came running in dressed in his school uniform.

"Papa hurry we are going to be late," a small voice chimed in.

Dhruv...

He came running over to me and I hugged him.

"Good morning mama," he said looking up at me, smiling.

"Good morning honey," I said feeling like tears were close to falling.

"Mama are you okay? Are you sad? You look sad." Dhruv said.

"See even Dhruv is able to see that you're sad," Kunal said.

I smiled and squeezed Dhruv's cheeks playfully.

"Owww...mama," Dhruv said laughing.

"I'm not sad, why would I be when your father is here...bothering me 24/7?" I said.

"Hey!" Kunal protested.

I looked up at Kunal.

"Aren't you going to take him to school...how are you when you are still dressed in your sleep wear," I said looking confused.

"That's...that's because..."Kunal stumbled.

I ignored Kunal and turned to Dhruv.

"What can we do your father is suppose to take you to school and is suppose to go to work but it looks like he isn't ready for both," I said.

Dhruv turned to Kunal who was still flustered.

"Bad papa...minus for you!" Dhruv drawing an X over Kunal.

"Dhruv..." Kunal mocked being hurt.

Dhruv laughed and I smiled.

"Are you guys going to laugh at me,"Kunal asked.

I looked at Dhruv as he looked at me and we busted out in laughter again.

"Fine then since you guys are going to laugh at me you can forget about me taking you to get ice cream," Kunal pouted.

Dhruv stopped laughing and immediately went to Kunal side.

"Papa I didn't mean to laugh, I wasn't laughing it was all mama's fault," Dhruv said.

"My fault? Are you betraying me so easily for ice cream?" I asked shocked.

Dhruv turned to me and he nodded.

"Yes mama," he said and turned back to Kunal who was beaming at me with pride but quickly hid it when Dhruv turned back to him.

Dhruv tugged on Kunal's sweatpants and Kunal ignored him.

"Papa," Dhruv continued to tug on his pants.

"Sorry Papa," Dhruv said.

Kunal lowered himself at Dhruv eye level and smiled.

"All is forgiven," Kunal said smiling.

Dhruv smiled as well and he hugged Kunal.

"What is this? My own son is betraying me for ice cream I cannot believe it this is..."

"KUNAL...KUNAL...ehhh what is this Kunal you're still not ready? Do you know what time it is? You're going to be late for work," Kamini ji said.

I looked at the doorway and she was wearing a scowl on her face.

I immediately got up.

"Good morning maa ji," I said.

She was wearing her usual scowl that she always has every time she looked at us. Gone was the indiscernible expression she wore when I was in the hospital and gone was the angry and hysterical expression she had when I couldn't remember what happened to Kunal.

Back was the usual expression she always wore when saw me: annoyance.

She looked at me and the scowl deepened.

"Never mind good morning, what are you doing sitting when he is about to be late for work?" she said.

"Mom relax, chill it wasn't Shraddha's fault I was busy messing around like usual," Kunal said going over to his mom.

He wrapped his arms around her shoulder, giving it a quick squeeze.

"Why isn't it her fault? As a wife it's her duty to help her husband. It's not like she is doing anything else in the house she might as well help you," Kamini ji said.

"Mom, you already know Shraddha is working, the same way I am and she does what she can. Stop acting like this when you know she helps a lot. Wasn't yesterday you were complaining about the man not picking up the clothes for the laundry...didn't helped you with that?," Kunal said with irritation.

Kamini ji smiled at Kunal.

"If you weren't always playing around with her then she would have time to do more than just "help". "Kamini ji said.

"Plus if she just quit that job she has she would get a lot more done," Kamini ji ranted on.

"Mom..."Kunal said irritated looking at Kamini ji.

"Don't mom me. This is serious, what's the need of her working when you are doing perfectly fine with your business? Instead of her running around she can actually just stay at home and assist me," Kamini ji said.

"Mom that's..."

"I'm sorry maaji I cannot quit my job. I have no problem helping out as much as I can...but I love teaching and I love seeing and teaching my students," I said.

All Kamini ji did was say a quick "hmph.." and folded her hands together.

"Forget it. Kunal hurry up and get breakfast before you leave," she said before she turned around and left.

"I will...Dhruv go get breakfast I will quickly get dressed and meet you down there and I will take you to school," Kunal said ruffling Dhruv's hair.

"Hey," Dhruv said.

Kunal laughed and walked into the bathroom.

"Mama are you coming downstairs with me for breakfast?" Dhruv asked.

I kissed him on his cheeks and smiled.

"I will, I'll join you when I get dressed," I said smiling at him.

He smiled back.

"Okay mama," he said and he quickly bounced out the door.

I heard the shuffling of clothes in the bathroom and I couldn't believe that I actually blushed.

It's not like I never seen him undressed or naked...why am I acting childish? Plus many of times I was there right along with him in the shower...

I heard the shower come on and I could hear Kunal singing and I laughed.

I smiled and I got up from the bed, looking around the room.

I couldn't believe that this was just a dream; everything felt so real...too real.

I noticed the pictures of Kunal, me, and Dhruv was everywhere around the room.

A photo of our wedding, a picture of all of us plus my family...I smiled when I saw Anand, Kittu, my father and mother, Ashish, Ishaan, Jaya, and even Ishaan's wife Malika.

I walked up to the picture of where it was Kunal and Dhruv together after Dhruv's team won their cricket match. I placed my hand on the picture and couldn't believe that this was real. I smiled and a tear slipped down my face.

"There is no need to cry ahjumma," a soft voice said.

I heard that voice before...

I turned around and was shocked to see a little girl, the same little girl that I saw in the hospital.

"What is this..."I said confused.

"Don't you remember Shraddha?" she said.

"Remember?" I asked confused.

"Don't you remember this, this whole scene that played out?" she asked.

I backed up against the wall and she continued to approach me.

"What are you talking about? Who are you?" I asked.

"Mind you that you of course changed it up...but you want to know my name? Sure I will tell you, I'm Jin Yeon or Jin for short. Now back to important matters..," she said.

I looked at her puzzled.

"Don't you remember Kunal did this to you already? You got angry at him for not coming home on time so the next morning he used a feather to cheer you up and to wake you up without you noticing it was him. Of course that time you knocked him out, ignored him for a week, and Kunal was such a sad, romantic sap that he did everything for you to forgive him," she said the last part while smiling and looking off somewhere.

That's why it felt kind of similar...

"Plus you met Dhruv in his room and took him to school because you were pissed at Kunal and told him that...what was it..." She trailed off..

"That his father is a no good lousy uncommitted fool who would probably forget at where he's supposes to drop him off," I said recalling the words I said.

"Exactly," she said snapping her hands.

"But this... that...makes no sense. This is a dream and you're part of this dream," I said more determined.

I'm unconscious in a coma; I'm knocked out from the pills. I'm unconscious in a coma, I'm knocked out from the pills. I'm unconscious in a coma, I'm knocked out from the pills.

I chanted the mantra as if it was the only way to maintain my sanity.

Which I probably have little of it left as of now.

"By the way, that wasn't a good idea! See if you listened to what I said you wouldn't be so surprised and so worked up right now," she said annoyed.

"How did you know..."

"No need for all these questions now it's time to get to work," she...or this Jin Yeon said.

She was smiling as she looked at me.

"Okay I learned not to try to kill myself, sorry. I'm ready to wake up now," as I said that I lifted my foot and smashed it against the other.
