OS: Veer's Escape

Veer sat on the ground in the middle of a bare room with his wrists and ankles bound by thick rope. The two goons desperate to find the stash of dope they had given to the mystery girl's brother hovered over him. The mystery girl's wrists and ankles were bound too. She too was seated on the floor but in a distant corner of the room.

The two goons smiled at Veer, enjoying his humiliation. The skinny long haired guy began circling him. "Out with it" he barked, "where have you and her brother hidden the drugs".

"I have never met her brother - and as matter of fact today is the first day I met her". Veer mumbled.

"Don't be naive. Telling lies will get you nowhere. She has confessed that you are her boyfriend".

Veer's eyes remained fixed on the wall.

The skinny long haired goon stopped his circling. "Since you will not talk. I think the time has come for you to get a taste of my friend's awesome fists", saying this he nodded towards the second goon.

The second short-haired goon came and stood before Veer. "Torture, as you know is an old and honorable method to elicit the truth ... So I will ask you once and once only before I begin punching you. Where is the dope stashed?"

Veer remained impassive. He knew it was futile to convince these two goons that he neither knew the mystery girl or her brother.

Veer began reciting to himself the titles of Shakespeare's 38 plays. The instructor at the academy had instilled in him the need to keep his mind intellectually occupied when undergoing torture. But right now all that Veer could think was how pleased his old English teacher would be to know that even after so many years Veer could still recall them. Henry the Sixth, Part One; Henry the Sixth, Part Two; Henry the Sixth, Part Three; Richard the Second ... Veer mentally continued while the short-haired goon kept punching all over him.

The Gentlemen of Verona, Love's Labour's Lost, Romeo and Juliet ... and then Veer let out a scream. Without warning, the second goon had intensified the pounding.
