Then like an unpredictable storm rough roads came into our life

And suddenly we found each other as husband and wife

Destiny did forever our paths entwine

Your heart had been broken and so had mine

Together we picked up the pieces and started again

Promising only to look forward, this time though as friends

Coming into this relationship was difficult at times

But as long as you continue to stay by my side

I'm confident the journey will prove to be fine.

And even though I didn't know you'd be headed my way

The days passed by and you stood by my side

Reassuring me and strengthening my stride

We started hanging out and doing things together

Made a pact to leave the tears behind

The colors around me seem brighter these days
