Adaalat written update - Rakh ka adi manav I (31/11/13)

Episode opens with the night view of a village. A man Hariya is going home on his ox cart. Suddenly the ox stops and he gets down to see smoke in the air. Suddenly a demon figure appears with red light type eyes and Hariya runs away. Scene shifts to KD's office and Srman meets Sunaina. She had gone to attend a seminar in Bangalore. A man named Sarju enters and tells KD that his villagers want to burn his crop field. He explains the reason through a flashback.
Sarju's grandmother's last rituals are going on. The priest instructs him to burn the 'Mukhagni wood' after the fire is over. Sarju forgets it and rushes there when he remembers. The particular wood is missing and the priest says it must have turned into a demon.
Sarju further explains that two people, Hariya and Vaidehi saw demon in his field. Then a news came that there's poison in the well's water. The priest suggested all to burn Sarju's field on new moon night and a powerful man Balbhadra Singh to supported it.

KD decides to go to his village accompanied by Srman and Sunaina. KD's arrival news spreads and Balbhadra orders someone to call his lawyer. He names a man Paltan, one of his men. KD asks Srman and Sunaina to check Sarju's field and they both leave. People advice them not to go there. Vaidehi is amazed to see KD and appreciates his looks. Sarju's wife introduces her and reveals that Vaidehi's relation was offered to Sarju first but he refused. Srman asks Sarju if he himself saw the demon, Sarju denies. Sunaina receives KD's call who orders her and Srman to stay in the field. Sarju leaves. Camera focuses on a dead man's blood strained legs in Sarju's field.
Two policemen pass by the field and stop hearing dogs barking. They get in the field and spot a dead goat there. The goat was of a man named Chhedi and he claims the demon has killed it. KD meets the village head and asks him can't he stop the people from burning Sarju's field. The man replies he can't do anything now.

He further gives an advice to KD that he should fight for Sarju against Balbhadra's lawyer. KD agrees. Scene shifts to Patna high court where the prosecutor claims that Balbhadra wants to burn Sarju's land because it has poisonous insects and may affect Balbhadra's land too. He shows a sample of Sarju's land soil. KD denies his claims and says this isn't possible as Sarju's land is green and lively. Balbhadra enters and gives a scolding to the prosecutor as he didn't speak about the demon thing. Prosecutor tells him that court won't believe in such things and hence he had to plan this. Balbhadra doesn't care and screams about the demon being in Sarju's field. Prosecutor repeats the same. The priest comes in witness box to narrate a 5 year old incident. He says that once he was returning a night and felt as if a force is stopping his cycle. He even spotted smoke in the air.
KD explains that methane gas is formed due to decaying of grass and such illusion is created after the gas interacts with air. This is a scientific explanation. Chhedi then comes and claims his goat was killed by the demon. KD tells him that a man has done so and questions if demons hold an axe. Balbhadra's phone rings and he starts talking with a loud tone. The judge doesn't dare to interrupt. After his talk his over, KD tells the court that he sent his assistants to look after the field. Flashback -
Srman moves ahead as he feels someone's presence there. Sunaina screams as a scare crow just tends to attack her from back. Srman rushes and then she's surprised to see the scare crow standing at a distance. The prosecutor assumes that perhaps they thought demon to be a scare crow. KD reverses this statement and tells him that the villagers think scare crow is a demon. Srman then brings a statue of a scare crow in the court. KD asks Sarju if he kept it in his field to which Sarju denies. KD concludes his enemy must have kept it then. Suddenly, a scorpion hiding in the statue bites KD. All are stunned at the scene.

The judge asks KD to receive a proper treatment and court is adjourned. Everybody including the prosecutor advice KD to go back. Sarju too pleads KD to return. KD denies and utters he needs to talk to Balbhadra now. Sarju gets scared and tells KD that the man is very dangerous. He further reveals that he often sent his men to beat him as he wanted to buy his field. KD questions Sarju why he didn't reveal this fact in the court? Then he himself utters nobody would have listened against the man and feels it's urgent to talk to him now. Scene shifts to Vaidehi who is passing by Sarju's field and a man is with her. He offers her a marriage proposal which she rejects. Suddenly the man is attacked by the demon and Vaidehi runs to call everybody. All the man including KD, Srman, Sarju, priest, Balbhadra and the village head rush. They see the man returning, injured. He tells them that somehow he managed to run away. The village men agree to burn the field right then.

Cont: KD stops them and sees eagles in the sky. He moves in the field and spots a dead body. The men identify him as Paltan, one of Balbhadra's men. KD gets a murder weapon too, the crop cutting tool. The men claims it's of Sarju and he's arrested.
