I have prepared food the guests. Last minute they change their plan. Whether they went to somebody's house, or someone else came to their house; it is not important for me. What bothers me is the change of plan and the food which has gone waste. Whether Rajiv loved Gunjan or Gunjan liked Rajiv may be an important issue for you. Not for me, who invested my heart in a pair called RajNa. Either way, Gunjan became a dominant character over Rachna.
I don't want to go in the direction "but she did that", "she did this". End of the day both you and me know, whether Gunjan, Rajiv or Rachna; all are fictional characters created by CVs. We know very well, whatever happens happens because CVs want to sketch these characters in that direction. All I wanted to say (which I hope, you definitely understand), there was no need for the CVs to give importance to one fictional character "A"over another fictional character "B", unless there was any personal bias over the person who plays the character.
