Chapter 1

'First Encounter'

Astha ran for a rikshaw; she was getting pretty late for her interview appointment that day. All the autos in the world seemed to have lost somewhere. She groaned and the very moment a car sped by spraying the dirty water of a puddle nearby on her yellow intricate kurta.

"Haye what the hell?" She yelled but the car had sprinted away. Thankfully the signal was nearby and it was on red. She plodded with quick hasty steps towards the culprits car and slammed her fist on the glass slab. An annoyed face emerged out as the glass was pulled down.

"Yes?" He asked perpetually annoyed at her actions.

"Get out of the car you moron!" She merely stopped herself from yelling.

"What the..." He exclaimed and jumped out of his vehicle.

"If you don't have any driving sense why do you bother driving hun?" Before he could voice anything Astha spelled out her complain-cum-displeasure.

"Excuse me? What the hell is your problem lady?" He took the set of those bifocals off is face quite heroically. Astha rolled her eyes regarding him as another filthy rich dude with nothing but prejudice and selfness in him.

She pointed towards the mess of her clothes.

"Look what your rash riving did to me..."

He rolled his eyes arrogantly.

"So what?"

Her eyes popped out. "So what?" She mocked.

"Haven't your parents told you to be sorry after committing a mistake?"

"No! Anything else?"

Astha's mouth fell open. He sighed and settled inside the car. The signal was clear.

"Bloody hell..." Astha pouted her lips. He heard her discontent but thought it better to ignore it. The car zoomed away. And Astha missed the interview that day all thanks to the buffoon she could not stop cursing.

Seeing him there right in the middle of the interviewers her mind screamed No No No a thousand No's'. Putting up a brave face she pulled herself to the designated seat. The look on Shlok's face told that he had never seen the girl before, Astha could only wish for that. Sitting there totally bewildered by his expressionless features Astha took in a shallow breath and pushed forth her CV.

"Astha kirloskar... BArch. Graduate from IEC" She told them avoiding any eye contact with him specially. She knew she was not gonna make it through but there is no harm trying.

It was clear that the directors were pretty satisfied with her academic record and her designs were impressive too. They asked her the usual questions; all except him. Shlok barely spoke a word instead he stared at her rather intently much to her discomfort.

It was the worst interview of her life and two days later she was shell shocked to receive the letter from the company stating that she had been appointed as Dy. Head Architect.

Astha thought, maybe he didn't remember me after all. But his peculiar behavior that day during the interview boggled her. Maybe he aint that snobbish after all, she thought and made for the dear bed to get up the next morning for an unanticipated encounter with her boss, Shlok Agnihotri.

She entered his cabin; he was engrossed in a blue print on the map table. It surprised her how he managed to compose that expressionless visage of his.

"Good morning sir!" She said entering. He did not respond.

"You are five minutes late."

"Hun?" She checked her watch it was five past nine.

"If you cant manage time why do you bother doing a job Miss Astha Kirloskar." She gasped; those were her words. So he remembered that encounter. Oh Man!' Her mind screamed.

"Sorry Sir."

"Mind that next time..." He said dryly. She nodded obediently. Why on earth only him?' She cursed.

"okay for now these are the blue of our upcoming project. I am not satisfied with the designs at all. So I need a complete new print set on my table before dusk...TODAY!" Her jaw dropped.

"That gives you approximately umm seven hours...get to work!"

Shlok enjoyed the stunned look on her face.

Prepare your stay in hell Miss Astha Kirloskar... You did the mistake of calling Shlok Agnihotri a moron and yeah Bloody hell. I will show you what a moron is.'

Precap:-

Astha ran into Shlok in the main entrance. "Sorry Sir!" She said picking up the files which had fallen down.

"It's okay...by the way the lift is not working you better try the stair case. Don't be late." He smirked and left.

She jumped and hopped the two hundred and forty three stairs only to be told by Arav,,

"Astha dear your working out?"

"No the lift was out of order na!" She panted.

"It's working perfectly fine."

"really? Don't tell me."
