Nausheen goes to Glasgow

The actress has finished shooting a Pakistani serial titled Kuch Dil Se in the Scottish city

After Kkusum and KaalCchakra, Nausheen Ali Sardar has kept herself away from the small screen. However, she has just completed shooting for a serial called Kuch Dil Se to be aired in Pakistan. The actress spent nearly two months in Scotland on a start-to-finish shooting schedule for the show. "It was freezing there," she says.

You have kept away from television here, but overseas you pursue it?
Their projects don't go on for years and years, so you can pursue other things. There's a fixed set of episodes till the story is over. Kuch Dil Se was shot entirely in Glasgow, Scotland. The entire team is Pakistani, except for me. The cast includes well-known Pakistani actors like Sameena Peerzada and Zulfiquar Sheikh. It is slated to air on Geo channel soon. I had done a show earlier for Geo called Ana, and it was thanks to this that Kuch Dil Se came my way. It was surprising to see that even in Glasgow there are so many people hooked on to Indian soaps. It was some experience shooting in those cold climes for the outdoor scenes.

What is Kuch Dil Se about?
It is a family drama and I play this character called Maha, who is a poetess. She is a Pakistani woman married to a man settled in Scotland. The problem arises when Maha feels stifled in the marriage as her husband does not appreciate her. Then there is a big twist and another man enters her life. Just when she thinks that this new man is what she's wanted in a life partner, another crisis takes over her life.

What is happening on the film front?
There is Nisha Chainani's Marathon with Bikram Saluja. Then there is Navneet Baj Saini's Vassh with Lucky Ali. This project was formerly titled Vivash. There is another film with Lucky Ali with the same team. There is also Akash Pandey's Chaloji Shaadi Kar Lo.

Will we ever see you on the big screen soon?
I have already shot for Marathon and Vassh. I have no clue when it'll be out. The other two projects are in the making.

Why have you kept away from television here?
It's not that I do not want to do television, but it should be something worth doing. There are some things happening but I would prefer to talk about them only when they actually commence.

What's happening on the personal front?
Whatever has happened in 2006 is over. This is 2007.

ohh, it's a shame she hasn't been on Indian Television for such a long time. Would like to see on TV again...I think I am not the only, isn't that right guys?
