Unlike western countries, in India arranged marriages take place with the expressive wish of having kids, that too mostly boys. If the defect is in the man, even that man is made fun of, mocked at as namard. In woman's case, it is more pronounced. Unfortunately.

I agree about mentality of people, and that is the reason I want creatives to be cautious to show such things like Ganga's dialogue and numerous other dialogues like baasi phool. Regarding Ganga's report, showing Ganga heart broken etc. was not bad and emotional contents would not have diluted if that one dialogue was not there (just like Sumitra's hatred of ganga was obvious even without that baasi phool dialogue), and so they were wrong to include such things.
