Oh boy, time for the big misunderstanding! This Shlokie boy needs better friends for sure. But very nice, I am loving this turn in the story.

Part 9

Shlok is sitting in his room.. Astha understands that her move of coming and staying in shloks house is not a very good thing.. and its possible that shlok may not be liking it..

Astha comes to shloks room and sees shlok sitting there..

" shlok.." she calls from behind.. then she comes and sits next to him..

" shlok.. I know what u are thinking.. aunty took me to the ashram and spoke to the manager and brought me here.. she is very emotional about me.. and I swear I dint know how to say no to her.. although I tried but she kept insisting.. look I know this is not right.. but u have to tell me what to do.." astha holds shloks hand

"astha.. we will have to do the break up drama as soon as possible.. before mom takes any other move with us.. I know this whole thing was started by me.. but we need to put an end to it as well.." shlok is serious.. " we will fake a fight tomorrow morning and just finish it off" he says astha and walks away

Astha feels bit bad.. but she knows that it is bound to happen..

Astha and shlok finish meeting his mother and leave from the house.. astha is still bit upset after meeting anjali and she sits in teary eyed in the car..

Shlok drives and sees astha not feeling very fine.. he slowly moves his hand and cups astha's hand

Astha suddenly turns and sees him.. and slowly pulls out her hand..

" don't cry astha.. just forget the past..mom is fine" shlok tries to explain astha

Astha gives him an irritated look and keeps looking out of the window and doesn't face shlok..

Shlok thinks to himself.. " I am sorry astha.. I have caused u a lot of pain in the past.. I don't know wether I can redeem myself ever in front of ur eyes.." and he looks away and drives the car

They both reach a place and shlok stops the car to pick up something from a store near by.., its quite a lonely place..

Astha also gets down from the car and looks around..

Shlok goes to a near by shop to buy some water and something else..

Astha is standing with her hands folded and seeing here and there...

Suddenly someones hand cups astha's shoulder.. Astha gets irritated thinking its shlok and turns back and sees a guy..

" you??" astha pushes his hand away and gets scared

The guy grabs astha's hands very tightly " astha kirloskar.. I knew I will find u someday.. how long will u run from me" he says and pulls astha into his arms and manhandles her

" leave me..." astha screams and cries " I said leave me"

"shlok shlok..." astha starts to shout..

But the guy starts dragging astha into his car and astha cries for help..

He drags her to his car door and about to open the car... suddenly shlok comes and gives him a hard blow on his face.. and pulls astha aside

" how dare u touch astha?" shlok says angrily and gives him a slap...

They both start fighting and astha gets worried... shlok holds the guys neck and starts to starangle him to kill..

Astha gets worried and goes and grabs shlok and asks him to stop.. " shlok.. leave him.. for god sake leave him"

Shlok suddenly lets go of him and the guy starts coughing... and tries to hit shlok back..But shlok holds his hands..

then the guy suddenly speaks up.. " how dare u hit me.. who are u to come between me and my wife?"

Shlok is stunned and looks at astha.. astha is unable to look into shloks eyes..

Anjali has invited some guests at home for dinner.. and she goes to astha's room to tell her..

"astha,.. today I have invited some guests to have dinner .. so I want u to be well dressed and I will introduce u to them.. ok" she says lovingly and leaves

Astha is uncomfortable as she keeps thinking about shlok trying to break off..

"aunty I need to tell u something..its very important please.."

"Astha.. ok I will listen to you..only in one condition" anjali fodls her hand and says

Astha looks at her in surprise

"astha u will call me aai from today.." anjali smiles and says

Astha is taken aback..

" yes astha.. u know seeing u I feel that my life is complete.. and I trust u more than my son ever.. so from today u will call me aai..ok.. no argument on this" anjali says with tears in her eyes

Astha is in tears.. she wonders how will she and shlok break her heart and tell her the truth.. this whole break up thing by shlok is hurting astha ... also because she is in love with him..

Astha goes to shloks room

"shlok we need to talk.. about this whole break up thing"

"yeah I know astha.. today there is a dinner party and this is the right time to do this.." shlok says in excitement

" what!!" astha is bit shocked.. astha had come to talk about not hurting his mother

"yes astha.. see I have the plan.. we will have dinner with everyone.. then suddenly we will pick up a fight.. I will tell u that u don't dress up well and look good like my other friends do.. then u fight back that u have a doubt on me having an affair etc.. and then we will make it very big fight in front of the guests.. then we will break off" shlok smiles and tells astha that it's a good idea

Astha feels bad and unsure of doing this

The evening is set and astha is dressed in a beautiful blue salwar that anjali bought for her..

Astha is totally tensed about this whole plan of shlok..

The guests get seated while the dinner and drinks get served.. anjali introduces astha to the guests and they all like her.. astha feels uncomfortable and looks at shlok

While the food is served and everyone is eating.. shlok signals astha.. astha looks scared to do this. Shlok and astha are sitting together..

So one gut asks .. " so shlok whats ur future plans?"

"ah nothing uncle.. will join dad in business.." he says

" oh that's good.. so astha is also doing her MBA.. so she can join u too" he asks

Shlok find a chance " no uncle.. astha and business.. naa .. I don't think so.. I would not like her to do all this.." he says and signals astha to pick up a fight with him

Astha understands

" no shlok.. why are u saying that.. I am studying MBA too.. so I would like to work too.. so u are not right" astha says back

" yeah astha.. u are no good to work for agnihotri's.. look at yourself, u have no class nothing.. how will u increase ur standards to meet up agnihotris" he says angrily

Astha also gets up in anger to fight.. suddenly she sees anjali... she starts to remember anjali's words.. to call her aai, that she trusts her.. then she sees all so many guests and what will be anjali's face if she argues and spoils her reputation..

" tell me astha" shlok screams loudly at astha

Astha is in her thoughts.. shlok holds her arm tightly to provoke her further.. and looks at her in anger

" whatever u want shlok.. that will happen" astha suddenly says in a soft tone with teary eyes and sits down..

Suddenly there is silence from shlok.. he cant believe that astha dint fight with him..

Niranjan speaks up.. " astha is very brilliant girl.. she got her college seat due to her intelligence and good in studies.. so I would love if she joins our business.."

The other guests give an awkward smile and continue eating..

NA and anjali give a strict look to shlok and shlok sits down and starts eating

Astha feels tensed as she dint do as shlok asked her to do..

After the dinner.. everyone is in the hall and talking and laughing and having some desserts..

Anjali and NA come there..

" we actually hosted this dinner to make an announcement.. " everyone is surprised and so is shlok and astha

" astha.. our sweet girl.. we would like u to be with us all ur life.. so we have decided to get shlok and astha engaged.." she smiles and says

All the guests start to clap...

Astha and shlok look at each other in dilemma..

" we spoke to out pandit ji and we have got a good date nest week for the engagement" anjali says happily and NA agrees to it..

Astha and shlok both are taken aback

Its night and all the guests have left... shlok comes to anjali's room to talk to her

" mom are u serious.. u announced out engagement.. u dint even ask me?" shlok is angry

" shlok.. astha is a nice girl and you love her.. so whats the problem.. u guys get engaged now and after some years we will get u married.." anjali says strictly to shlok

Shlok tries to argue but astha holds his shoulder to stop arguing with his mom

Shlok leaves in anger to his room

and shlok is sitting in his room and astha comes to talk to him...

" shlok listen to me .. there is no point in you arguing with aai" astha tries to console

Shlok is very angry and remembers what all his friends told him about astha.. that she is not going to break off from him and that she is happy getting all this from his mother.. all the love and money and guy like shlok..

" no u listen to me astha.. u are the cause of whatever is happening today.." he says grabbing asths's arm..

" we could have easily broken off today.. but u.. my friends were right about you" shlok is so angry

Astha looks at shlok in disbelief

" yes astha.. they were right that all u want is all this comfort of this house and all the money and financial security that u never had.. u are just trying to hook up with me, shlok agnihotri.. every girl I know wants to be with me... u are a gold digger and nothing else astha" he screams at astha saying all this

Tears flow from her eyes in disbelief that shlok is saying all this..

" shlok.. ur mom trusts us.. how can u break her heart.. don't u have any feelings for ur mom.. that too in front of so many people?" astha asks calmly

" no I don't have any feelings astha.. and by the way she is my mom and not yours.. and don't worry I know how to handle my parents.. am not an orphan like you astha.. so don't teach me.." shlok shouts

Astha's tears flow as she dint expect shlok to say this to her ever.. it hurt her so much.. she just turned her back not to face him..

Shlok goes and holds her arm again as she is crying.. " astha I want all this over.. seeing you anymore in this house is irritating me.. " he says in anger and pushes astha away as she falls down ... and shlok walks away from the room in anger

Astha holds on to a table and cries.. she was in love with shlok and dine believe that he will speak to her like this..

She thinks about each and everyword he said to her today.. the most hurting was when he called her an orphan, a gold digger.."

Its been some days and astha and shlok haven't spoken to each other..

Anjali has been planning the engagement..

It's a day before the engagement and there are so many guests in the house..

Astha is worried as still they have not been able to tell the truth about their relationship to anjali..

astha goes to shloks room to talk to him and she remembers every word he told her the other day.. every bit is still hurting her..

" shlok.." she tries to talk to him again

"astha.. if u think that with this engagement we will be bound forever and u can enjoy all luxuries of life.. then forget it.. nothing of that will happen " he says and pushes her out of his room and closes the door

Astha cries and goes back to her room.. she sits crying and thinks about what shlok told her..

Anjali is sitting with her guests and talking

Astha enters with a guy to the hall... everyone is shocked and see her,..

" ms.anjali agnihotri" astha calls out loudly

Astha is drunk and she talks as if she is in influence of alcohol...

Everyone is shocked and so is anjali...

" ms.anjali agnihotri.. come here and meet my new boy friend kunal" she says smilingly

Anjali and NA get up and come near astha... shlok comes down from his room and sees astha with another guy and talking loudly

" ok ms.anjali.. don't be so shocked.. u know he is wealthier than u all.. I know u are rich too.. but not as much as kunal is.. so actually I have lost interest in ur son.. he is no good for me anymore.. and all this engagement and stuff.. am sorry I cant do.. actually the problem is that I cant stick to a guy for more than few months.. I need change u see.." astha laughs

" sooo.. this engagement is cancelled... and I am going on a holiday with kunal to his farm house in delhi.."

Anjali is taken aback.. she comes to astha " astha.. are u in ur senses.. what are u saying? Who is this guy"

" oh please ms.anjali.. stop bossing on me.. and stop calling me my mother.. cos u are not.. and I don't even think you are.. I am so irritated with ur constant calling me daughter daughter.. I am done with you.. atleast I am glad kunal has no mother: astha laughs and makes fun

Shlok watches all this from a distance and sinks..

" ok then bye ms.agnihotri.. hope to not see u again.." astha says and hugs that guy with whom she had come

Anjali gets very angry and upset.. " wait astha" she says in anger

Astha turns back to see anjali... anjali gives one slap to astha...

Astha is teary eyed but she controls herself..

She smiles at anjali and shlok holding her cheek where she is slapped.. and just leaves...

Shlok keeps looking at astha teary eyed and guilty..
