Kumud finds out the truth about Pramad's illness and she runs to see him. On the other hand, Saras gets scared of the thought of losing Kumud again. He goes to her house to talk to her. He reaches the home and finds out that Kumud isn't there. Dukhba sees him tensed and asks him what the matter is. He tells her everything and asks for forgiveness for hiding the truth. Dukhba assures him that it's not his fault since he was only trying to protect Kumud but Saras is still worried about how she will react. Just then Kumud enters with sick Pramad. Saras is shocked to see them.
Kumud informs the family about the illness and all are shocked to know all this. Seeing this reaction, Pramad sees the perfect opportunity to weaken Saras. He looks as if he is surprised and asks everyone whether Saras told them everything or not since he knew the truth. Vidyachatur inquires about the same. Saras looks down and says yes. Kalika gives an evil smile and says, "You knew that he was dying and did not tell us? Why?" Saras looked down. Badi Kaki says, "He's still Kumud's husband. She should be taking care of him. Why did you hide this from us? Or did you want Kumud to not go to her husband because you want her?" Saras is shocked and so is everyone else. Saras says, "No I was just trying to.. " And Badi Kaki interrupts him and says, "To keep her away from her husband because you're selfish and want Kumud." She taunts him saying that he has sort of khot in his heart. Saras is heartbroken after hearing the accusations. Kalika and Pramad gloat with victory.
Dukhba can't tolerate all this and says, "No. Don't say all this about my Son. He didn't do anything wrong. His heart is pure and truthful." Vidyachatur also defends him. Badi Kaki says, "Then why didn't he tell us the truth? Why did he hide the fact that Kumud's husband is about to die? Why?" Kumud comes forward, stands by Saras's side and says, "Kyunki usne mujhe tootte hue dekha hai.. Mere darad ka khamosh gavaah hai woh! Usne mujhe nahi bataaya kyunki woh jaanta hai ki mein badi mushkil se apne atit se nikalkar aage badh paayi hu aur agar mujhe apne guzre hue kal ki parchaai ka saamne fir se karna pada, toh mein seh nahi paaungi! (Because he has seen me getting shattered.. He is the silent witness of my pain! He didn't tell me because he knows how hard I tried to come out of my past and move on and if I have to face it again I won't be able to bear it again!)" Pramad and Kalika are stunned to see all this.
Kalika tries again by saying, "Lekin unhe yeh sab chupaane ki koi zaroorat nahi thi. Hum sab aapke saath hai. Lekin Chote Seth ki aisi haalat.. (But he didn't have to hide all this. We all are with you. But Chote Seth's this condition..)" Kumud cuts her in the middle and says,"Tumhaari aur uski khud ki vajah se hui hai! Pichale 13 saalo se tumne isse sharab ke nashe se kabhi baahar nikalne hi nahi diya. Tumne iske andar itana zeher bhar diya ke woh apne Ma-Bapu tak ka pyaar dekh nahi paaya! Tumne iski jade iss had tak sadaa di ke aaj aakhri waqt mein bhi apna kehne ko koi nahi hai uske paas. (Happened because of you and he himself! You never let him come out of this addiction in the past 13 years. You poisoned him so much that he couldn't even recognize his parents' love. You poisoned his roots so much that even in his last days no one's with him!)" Yash interrupts and says, "Bas Kumud. Yeh meri biwi hai! (Enough Kumud! She is my wife!)" and Kumud says, "Aur Saras meri zindagi! Woh mera sahaara bana, meri shakti bana.. Woh waha tha toh meri zindagi thodi bohot jeene laayak ban jaati thi. Mujhe dukhi dekhkar roya hai woh! Yaha tak ki jab Pramad ne mujhe Saraswatichandra ka shraadh karne ko kaha toh bina kuch soche-samjhe usne mujhe kasam de di ke mein uska shraadh karu taaki Saraswatichandra ka naam meri zindagi se hamesha ke liye mitt jaaye aur mein apne shaadishuda jeevan mein aage badh paau! Apne inhi haathon se meine uske jeeteji uska shraadh kiya! Woh wahi khada tha.. Chupchaap! (And Saras is my life! He became my support, my strength.. my life was some what tolerable because he was there! He cried seeing me in pain. In fact, when Pramad asked me to perform Saraswatichandra's shradhh, without thinking about anything he made me do the pooja so that his name would be erased from my life and I would be able to move on with my marriage. I performed his shradhh with my hands despite him being alive. He was standing right there.. silent!)" She looks at Saras. They both have tears in their eyes. She holds his hand tightly and says, "Saras ne meri khushi ke liye apna vajood tak mita diya! Bina kuch bole, bina kuch maange woh har pal mera saaya banke mere saath chala hai. Mere liye mere bhagwaan se bhi badhkar hai woh! Agar meri zindagi mein woh nahi, toh meri koi zindagi nahi! (Saras sacrificed his existence for me! Without saying anything, or asking for anything in return he always walked with me like a shadow. He means more than the God to me! I don't have a life if he's not in my life!)" She looks at him and he looks at her with eyes filled with undying and devotional love!
Kumud looks at Pramad and says, "Tum yaha reh sakte ho! Mein Ma aur Bapuji se baat karne ki koshish karungi. (You can stay here! I'll try to talk to you parents.)" Saras says, "I've called one doctor. I'll tell him to come here and check on you." Kumud asks Kumari to open the guest room and asks Pramad to go to the room. Pramad feels awful after the defeat and is about to go inside when Kumud says, "Pramad! Ruko.. (Pramad! Stop..)" She looks at him and he understands and gives her his liquor flask. She takes it and throws it away. Pramad goes inside. Everyone is about to leave when Kumud says, "Kalika, yeh Swarnapur ki haveli nahi mera ghar hai. Agar yaha sharaab aayi toh jis haathon se tumhaari muh dikhai ki thi, unhi haathon se tumhe dhakke maar ke yaha se baahar fikva dungi! Meine tumse pehle bhi kaha tha aur aaj dubaara yaad dila rahi hun, agar safai nahi kar sakti toh gandaki bhi mat failana! (Kalika, this isn't Swarnapur's haveli, this is my house. If you bring alcohol in the house, I'll throw you out of the house. I told you before, I'm reminding you again, if you can't keep the house clean, don't create more mess!)" Yash says, "Enough Kumud. Kalika iss ghar ki bahu hai. Sabka bhala chahti hai! (Enough Kumud. Kalika is this house's daughter in-law. She only wishes good for everyone!)" And Kumud says, "Pramad ka bhala bhi issine socha tha. Dekh aaj uski kyaa haalat ho gayi iski mehrbaani ki wajah se! (She also wished Pramad's well being and look what happened to him thanks to her!)" Yash can't deny this fact and leaves and so does everyone else.
Saras comes to Kumud and says, "Kumud mujhe maaf kardo. Mujhe samajh mein nahi aaya ke mein tumhe yeh sab kaise bataaunga! (I'm sorry Kumud. I didn't know how to tell you all this!)" Kumud stops him, hold his hand tightly and says, "Tumhe kuch kehne ki zaroorat nahi. Mein khai ki tarfa aankh bandh karke aage badhn jaaungi agar tum bas ek baar kehdo ke tum ho mere saath... itana bharosa hai mujhe tum par! Sab theek ho jaayega! (You don't have to say anything. I'll happily walk towards the edge of the cliff if you just say you're there... I trust you that much! Everything will be fine!)" They look at eachother and smile and Kumud hugs him!
