Oh Indi, is that the case? then I am sorry, but most truly loved this deep magenta than that girly pink. I hope they change to your fav pink again for the next stage when you reach there!!:)

horizon,

well said about the women who were in charge. and i do agree the story is primarily about the male protagonist. that in itself doesn't bother me... it is the bent of the tale, its reason for existence.

where i find a sad lack of responsibility in writing is in the way characters, especially the female lead, have been treated at will. yes, that started way back, not here.

no matter who is your protagonist, when you create characters you have to be true to them... if you are a writer with any integrity that is. to completely ditch the female lead's character, to make her into a meaningless muddle... that i thought was not done... of course, you will manipulate characters, even the main lead, but the task is not to lose them, however hard that might be... that is the challenge of creative writing...

here i did feel khushi was treated in a most cavalier fashion... made into a caricature when it suited them, and then suddenly acchi bahu bharatiya nari... anything... along the way she was gone. whoever the writer was... the one who executes the words and story... messed up. i did feel a male indifference to a woman's mind here. centuries of patriarchy and seeing men as natural leaders... karta... has its impact on minds, male or female. gul, gautam hegde, ved raj, hitesh kevaliya, whoever started letting khushi become less, was wrong.

when one sees the final scenes of othello, desdemona still feels real... not just othello. many stories are about one principle character, male or female (zee's astitwa did a pretty decent job of portraying a female protagonist but created a memorable male lead too)... but the other characters remain relevant... as they are... not just as a tool. a rather clumsy writer's tool at that.

i do feel writing was ultimately weak. bits of utter brilliance, but no real consistency or commitment of writers... more a show of "cleverness" from time to time... in the middle of it all some lovely lines... but tell me if sanaya and barun were not saying them, would we be swooning?

can't think of anyone else who could have made stuff that was kinda corny sound practically divine, like a life lesson.

loved the geeta quote... still trying to understand it.

but the oft said karmanye badhikaraste comes to mind... that went missing, too much concentration on the fruit of action.

Thats exact;y what it was. Khushi was used rather as a prop to contrast ASR from the start to finish. But some how I could n't see a gender bias in whose character was elevated or killed.One of the leads was done with obvious utmost care than the other which after a while started to show up glaringly. There is so much of creative energy and commitment required to come up with a Guest house or a resignation or a farq padtha hai, which could last only as long!
Right now Indian TV is deluged with male leads who can't even be props but mere spectators. This show was other way around with a very potent male lead. A right amalgam of these two seem rare right now like the one you mentioned, Astitva are rare.

It was Khushi who dragged me into IPK. I was surprised to see a character like hers in a regular daily soap. The way she would protest, takes those little revenges, asks questions fearlessly, I loved her instantly.
Loved what you said above in bold. In blue, bingo. Same feelings here. Positivity and hope was oozing out from every episode of IPK. In red, so true. Why does it have to be that great lovers have to die. They can be together loving each other madly.
Thanks for the story of Saptapadi, the Bangla movie. Sounds interesting. Someday, I would want to watch one of those Uttam-Suchitra ones. I did watch their Hindi movies, but didn't see them together on screen. I understand what you said towards the end underlined. I was listening to the songs of Sankarabharanam a couple of days ago, the movie I suggested earlier, and I felt the beauty, the attraction of the melodious songs didn't wane even a little bit. And the movie, I know the scenes, the dialogues, almost all of them by heart (It's a 1980 film). But still, everytime I watch it yet again, it pulls you in and makes you want to belong to that era. This happens with very few movies.

i think i have seen shakarbharnam on doordarshan ji way back. story of shankara, yes? lovely songs? am i right?

yes, that positivity, oh i love it. the rona dhona oriented serials sicken me... this false notion of life. this ridiculous insistence on looming sadness. everyone protested about the mu (what a name) but you know it was nothing compared to the rubbish in other stories. serials seem to eulogise rona dhona... ipk laughed, sang, danced, said what the. it felt healthy and real. only the mindless killing of the baby, for that someone should take tomatoes on the face and rotten ones at that.

khushi was indeed lovely and rare. then they quashed her. some more tomatoes i am buying now. 😆

i am not ionto the great heroines of our saga soaps... i'd rather bbe the vamp with bhadakti aankhen and "komolikaaa" type of echo around me. bas.

for di

the episode made me think a lot... it was funny how things piled up on one another and a certain picture of the so called "truth" emerged which the viewer knew was not true at all, yet in the mental and emotional state asr was in he just couldn't sense the lie in it.

right through the rest of ipk, we all expected that at some point there'd be a huge reveal of shyam's lying... but that never happened. instead a feeling spoke its truth and the man said, i don't care, i believe in khushi... no matter what.
That is so magnificent. Isn't it? but shyam's truth needed to be revealed completely, not because of ASR only, but for the rest of the family. Shyam not only harmed Khushi, but harmed other people, like Anjali and Babuji and of course Arnav too.

no doubt, in the beginning the writers had envisaged the usual revelation, otherwise they wouldn't have wasted time showing nk filming everything, especially shyam, at awkward telling moments.
It always bother me. CVs became oblivious of NK's camera.

but by dumping that route, i felt something more interesting got conveyed.. at least to me. this whole thing of what is "truth" and also how does an emotion sense truth.

long back in communications class we'd studied the famous japanese auteur akira kurosawa's "rashomon". the story was his take in a way on what is truth, is there an absolute truth, or does it always get coloured by the narrator's self interest, he/she a filter through which truth passes and gets altered.

i can't say i studied the film deeply, but that whole thing of four people narrating the facts visible according to their own needs and personalities was most interesting. kurosawa never did that easy thing of ending on a version that was supposedly the actual truth. it was left to us to surmise. even the one most likely to be truthful played a little mischief, but the ending had a sign of hope, which was kind of nice.

watching shyam creating a truth out of asr's misconception that khushi was part of the deception was really interesting. it was engineered cleverly... no loopholes really. by the end of the spinning of yarn, asr was completely convinced khushi loved shyam and was a threat to his sister.
that's surprised me. I didn't expect it from Mr. Harvard brain. He already knew how nefarious Shyam is! How could he believe him!. I agree that the terrace scene imprinted in his mind deeply. But he also said once that it's not necessary that what you see, has to be true always.

perhaps in this perception of truth was his personal filter. the one of insecurity, of suspicion, sown at a tender age by a philandering father and the tragedy that brought. he was indeed too easy to convince. that worked for shyam.
logical interpretation.

later too, when khushi presented her version, i thought she was not being as honest as she should. she had the filter of mahanta... i didn't tell you about all these terrible things that shyam did, only to save your sister. really? was that a good enough reason, i thought... what would have come undone if you had told asr that his sister was married to a cheat? wasn't it only right to do so? and where was the astuteness or decency even in letting a loving honest woman remain married to a lout?
The way khushi made a mistake by not telling ASR, same way ASR also made a mistake by not telling Anjali about shyam. Both gave priority of their sisters, right? But Khushi's family is also responsible in this matter. After the break up of her sister's first alliance, Khushi was not ready to give her jiji another heart break.Did you notice in episode-201 that, khushi was in consternation thinking whether Arnav came to know about shyam or not. She thought of anjali too. She thought that she should take care of everything deftly, as Anjali is pregnant. I have to say Arnav and Khushi both became the scapegoat here.

then therew as asr's "chhap gaya hai dimaag mein."

in the end the truth was whatever it was, but two people's love made its way through the minefield of deceit and found each other. only to say, it needs nothing else.

i wonder, if khushi actually been in love with shyam at some point, what would have happened to this story... ok ok, do not kill me, but i do wonder a lot about love and what it can or cannot do.

the other major thing from the episode that sticks in teh mind is the unreal response of khushi.

started in 185, this strange response to a lascivious, clearly out of line, abhorrent lech who has dared to touch her.

her first "chhoriye humey," so calm... post that and pre that ;lots of talk about all sorts of things, why? shouldn't she have started running away from the terrace much earlier? i would. and what she said after many things... tehfact that had he been unmarried also she wouldn't have given a damn... shouldn't that have been said before?
Can't agree more. i was so annoyed at khushi for giving him chance to touch her or even talk to her. She just should slap him, spit on his face and ran as fast as possible. But sigh the cvs was hell bound to create the MU.

why all that about, the man who couldn't love a devi like anjali ji, how would he love someone.

one good thing, she finally realised, anjali needed to be told...again, no pondering the issue, no understanding that keeping quiet the first time was not correct.

and after all that, she doesn't feel the need to rush to a place of comfort... amma or asr. instead she is walking around looking lost, being "good" and hiding her troubles with jiji...

only thinks of asr when payal mentions kash and needing him. even then, no frantic urgency.👏

she has just been embraced and harrassed by a creep. he has said unspeakable things to her. he even hinted he wouldn't want to hurt her twice (she never asked what was the first time). yet she is just a little perturbed, not going bananas.
I think he meant his encounter on the sangeet day, when he hurt her by holding her arms vehemently, made her bruised.

i know how i'd react if that happened.

the problem is i guess khushi was written by a man/bunch of men, who never quite understood women... certainly not khushi. and khushi was never conceived as a character on her own... always vis a vis asr. she was manipulated at will to reveal asr's inner self... rarely was she given equal status. she served a purpose. that's all.
you said the blunt truth. The cvs just used Khushi as per they wanted. Her character was brutally butchered for sure.

story of our lives in a world that is intrinsically patriarchal. a really interesting woman cannot be conceived, created and nurtured here.

of course, the acting by barun was superb once again.

main dekh chuka hoon... main sun chuka hoon. a shattered, man, trying to bring order back. then the devil goes into his terrible dance... khushi ji hamari... whatever.

a few things from the episode.

khushi's voice rises seemingly exhorting shyam to leave anjali, a terrible echo magnifies the sound.

asr is breaking.

he turns and walks away.

so he doesn't hear the truth. he walks away, every shot getting imprinted in his mind. "chhap gaya hai dimag main," happened around here somewhere.

he sees the maniacal shyam grabbing onto her. he's imploring, "hum sirf aapko chahte hain, khushi ji. hum raani sahiba ko apni patni nahn mante... humara yakin kijiye, khushi ji, hum sirf aapse pyaar karte hain aur bahut sara pyar karte hain!"

i only want you, khushi ji. i don't consider raani sahiba my wife... believe me, khushi ji, i love only you and i love you a lot.

and khushi is saying those damning words...

his world is turning upside down, he is on autopilot, complete crisis time, he needs something to make him think... feel.

poignantly, he traces the same path back, the one he'd taken with so much hope.

on the terrace, shyam is nonplussed. shyam thinks she means leave anjali... i'll marry you. he actually grabs her chheks again, khsuhi doesn't move, she just looks at him horrified...

then comes... now i know what a terrible man you are, aap kitne gire hue insaan hain. now? i am thinking? so you didn't know this when he got engaged to you while being married to anjali, when he lied for months and hoodwinked your entire clan?

finally she says what she might have said earlier if life and rather whimsical, opportunistic writers hadn't decided to play this game.

"aap shadi shuda rahe ya na rahe, hum aapke zindagi ka hissa kabhi nahin ban sakte..." whether you are married or not, i can't be part of your life.

and then her angry retort, "aap kya shadi todenge, aap kya anjali ji ko chhorenge, hum toh kehete hain unke sukhke liye unko aapko chhorna chahiye."

you'll break the marriage, leave anjali ji? i say, she for her happiness, she should leave you.

perhaps a little too late khushi understands the simple undeniable fact. anjali would be better off without this sick man. alas... too late. what's done cannot indeed be undone.
again i have to say I can't blame Khushi for this. she is a very young girl, what 19/20! It was not easy to take such big decision by herself. her family was also responsible equally.

at long last, the words which in a better written screenplay would have come soon after the laying of filthy hands on her, "mat chhuhiye hume, aur na bhi kabhi jurrat bhi kijiyega."

don't touch me, and don't you ever dare again.

payal is looking at gifts, khushi walks in disturbed, remembering shyam saying ever since they met in lucknow he's been obsessed with her.

she is in a state but payal is clueless... then khushi forgets her troubles for payal... i wonder how this is even possible. and it is only when payal mentions akash and says that once she sees him she'll feel better, that khushi realises that's what she must do... meet arnav ji. her reactions are a bit off key.

but asr's reactions are beautifully crafted, well understood and brilliantly enacted. he is alone in his room wondering what to do, breaking to bits. he recalls the many times he's trusted his sister's husband, and shyam has shown overt love for his wife.
How brilliantly cvs crafted ASR's character, same way they ruined Khushi's character. But it's undeniable truth that Barun did full justice to it. He was beyond excellent in the scene.

for asr shyam was a father figure almost, a place of trust. smashed to smithereens once more...

he remembers his di doing arti of shyam. shyam carrying di... the images keep flashing. di introduces "iss duniya ke sabse achhe pati" to khushi. he's giving them matching watches, and the loving words around these moments.

and he flings his tie, takes off his jacket... as if he's suffocating.. anger pain hurt all melding and screaming.
he is reaching for his familiar friend. gussa. without it coping is impossible.👏👏👏

he sits on his bed and the dreadful picture of shyam holding khushi, speaking of his desire... her shrieking, "chhor dijiye anjali ji ko..." a close up, a new rage rising... tears in his eyes. what a nameless glut of emotions.

he says "di, i'm so sorry, mujhe maaf kar dijiye par yeh baat main aapse chhupa nahin sakta... chahe aap ko kitni bhi thes kyun na pahuchen... mujhe aap ko batana hi hoga..."

forgive me, di... i can't hide this from you, i must tell you, even if it hurts you terribly.

character... i think. the guptas played the game of the weak with that lethal information re shyam. they hid the truth.

yet a young boy whom life had left for weak, vanquished, but who showed "himmat" and got up and fought back, claiming his place back, who chose to be strong, no matter how broken his insides... he grew up to be a man that acted from the position of the strong... no need to hide anything and not tell di. he knows it will hurt her immeasurably... but he will do it.

something to learn in that.

straight forward... no game... no excessive to and froing about the good and bad of a thing... his instinct says she must know.

in the meantime, shyam knows he has failed and raani sahiba is in his arms again. while khushi is running around looking for arnav ji, a certain sense of urgency just not there.

"di!" he's changed for the wedding. i see his clothes and my heart contracts... we are here... the bride groom from mount vesuvius, mount etna, mount pinatubo and all other volcanoes combined is here.

"kahiye, saale saab, hum toh bas..." shyam is all sweet smiles but again i notice the meaninglessness of his words. why this lack of care in dialogues?

but no need to waste time on that, someone keeps pulling me in with his magnetic performance. a fist is clenched, a music starts... asr is back... the tears are not for public consumption.

then comes the ominous walk down... the meeting.

"mujhe aapse kuch baat karni hai..." i need to talk to you, animosity in every pore.

he bursts in
to a room, shyam behind.

what's up, saaley sahib, you look upset... shyam is trying to be normal. oh abhas, why this aimless pitching?

"main janta hoon..." the cool in the voice. i know, says asr... the one who doesn't really know.

shyam thinks it's about the engine, the tampering with di's car.

"aisa bhi kya jaante hain, saale saab," what's it that you know, bro in law. and he rushes to the mirror. both in the reflection now. a funny parallel world.

"mein dekh chuka hoon," i have seen.

then what hurts him badly to say, "khushi ke saath dekh chuka hoon," seen you with khushi.

shyam is stunned... searches for the right response, sliminess magnifies.

he reiterates, i've seen you on the terrace with khushi.

shyam has the temerity to suggest this might be a misunderstanding.

ah, misunderstanding. our one and only mu, come let me seranade thee. somehow i hated hearing the word from him... of course a nice irony there.

"mujhe koi galat faimi nahin hui hai..." i have not misunderstood, says asr.

his face is set so differently... stone like.

"main apni aankhon se dekh chuka hoon aur apni kaano se sun chuka hoon.. so don't even try. safai dene ki koshish bhi mat karna..."

i've seen it with my own eyes, and heard with my own ears... so don't even try... don't try to explain...

he hurls the words, his arm swings out, finger aggressively pointed at the enemy. of course, at this point indi dies... just look at him.
hehehehe

with that the entire scene takes a turn and shyam goes into mode rumplestiltskin. in that now nasty now nice vein devised freshly by the directors. frankly, it was silly and rather tiresome...
i was convulsing to see the vicious scene.

wish they'd thought more clearly, not wasted some of the finest scenes.

especially since asr was at peak interpretation. how could you do this to my sister...who thought you greater than god... you cheated on her.

shyam smiled... he could sense asr's weakness... di!

"i am not gonna spare you, jo ki hai uski keemat chukani padegi... itni asani se jane nahin doonga... na aapko... aur naa hi uss khushi kumari gupta ko..." i am not gonna spare you, you'll pay for what you've done... not letting you escape so easily... not you... not that khushi kumari gupta.

the madness has begun...

shyam guesses khushi's reality is hidden... and starts the talk of hamare aur khushi ji ke pyaar... bataiye apni ji ji ko...his and khushi's "love", challenges asr to go tell his di... for a moment it looks like asr won't.
i was feeling to kill him when he mentioned khushi as his love.

what you and khushi have got together and done to us... he is seething with hurt, revulsion, anger, protectiveness toward di, so much.

"aap ne aur khushi ne milkar jo hamare saath dhoka kiya..."

shyam asks him to respect the feeling he has for khushi.

at shyam's heinous "khushi ji hamari zidagi ban chuki hai," khushi has become my life, the eyes close... the heart cannot bear it.

there's only one thing between him and khushi, screams shyam, and on a devilish grin, he utters, "raani sahiba!"

all of it is like the rings of chakravyuh, a coiled snakelike thing, falling fast and smooth and trapping the honourable warrior. he who has entered the formation but has no idea how to get out.

with that last echoing word (episode started on an echo that would lead to hell and closed on one which shut the door, the quarry was in), the darkest and direst moment of the night began to take clear and present shape.

for khushi

awesome write up as usual.
I know i rambled a lot, but one more thing I want to say, Arnav was determined to tell shyam's truth to Anjali, but he couldn't when he came to know that Anjali was pregnant. What inhibited him? As Anjali's child would be fatherless or Anjali wouldn't bear Shyam's deception in that stage! Definitely the second option right? He thought of Anjali's feelings. Khushi also came to tell the Raizada family everything. But anjali's blind love for her husband refrained her that time. and of course Payal's alliance with akash was the major reason.
i'm not justifying Khushi's mistake,I just wanted to say that some time people gets weak for the sake of their beloved.
Enough of my rambling.😃

HI Blasters how is everyone😃. Came back after long time and was missing ARSHI like crazy. Went for a camping trip for the first time in an RV van. It was fabulous. 😊Looked at the clear sky with all the stars from the middle of a forest. It was really magical.⭐️ ARSHI made us realize that there is a lot of peace at night in the middle of trees. No wonder Arnav would go there close to midnight to clear his head. Anyway my daughter was telling me about camping disasters and guess I had one too. My cellphone fell inside the car vent and of course can not take that out. 😔So do not laugh at me. All the menfolk there of our family tried taking it out and failed. In the end they said they may need to flip the car to do that👎🏼. Will start reading and commenting. And wiwy hope everyone is OK.

EPISODE 189

~~~ Besieged Darkness ~~~
"Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift."
Mary Oliver
Phoenix has risen from the ashes yet is ready to put some one's dreams into ashes along with him.He is doing out of rage and ego for now yet he is not letting her walk through this besieged darkness alone .He is assuring her that he will be with her at each step.Today Mamaji's words for Akash ,"Jhuk jao tou sada sukhi raho gey..."[bend down to find happiness] are coming in this picture as Khushi leaves home with her Rajkumar/Shaitan by bending her head down ,totally defeated , by looking at him last time who gives her way to move in front of him on this path of darkness and then followed her as he can't see her to be afraid of darkness any more .How ironically he is with her in this walk of thorns by putting those for her at the first place .Two hearts are broken again second time by the same Rajkumar.He was the"Destroyer" as she ended up in the alliance of Shyam and for which she is being scared for forever but he was shattered in that process for saving him for more destruction which just happened to him today again. But Today unknowingly he became the "Savior" from the very person he had thrown his girl to. But again at the same time he became her "Destroyer" . At the same time today, the destruction of her heart is willful , carefully chosen with the intention to save his sister ..and this time it hurts more than ever as he actually owned it. Diwali night is revisiting again..chakarvyue...is back.
He is closing the door of deceiving light behind them to make new path in the darkness with new light, with new hope,and with new beginning.
Symbolism and connection: Arnav is closing the door towards family and this is a good sign as Khushi and him are going to be with each other for forever as their directions are same , they are on this side of the door but together in every state,Dukh or Sukh...as they are thinking only about themselves here.
Door closed the stigma for Payal but opened for Khushi as both are on different sides of the door.He is the one who was responsible for this mess is giving her respect back and putting other at the testimonial seat but unintentionally closing the door of storm for Khushi too by making her family safe including her.
Love the parallel wedding sequence.Akash and Payal are ready to exchange the garlands but Akash doesn't want to do it without his bother's presence.My grabber is Khushi and her anxiousness, her feel[mehsoos] for her Arnavji as both can feel each other's distress from miles away though not that strong yet.Arnav appears with composed ,quiet, and calm state after venting out.He passed Khushi without giving her any look and that ignites the flicker of anguish in her. Her gazes gauge him and refuse to leave him any second .She wants to know the reason behind these dark orbs .The wedding proceeds with full swing and laughter.Mamaji's jokes is the one took my attention.silly me...
Khushi smiles along with others but that fades away quickly when her eyes land on Arnav's straight and unhappy demeanor whose dark orbs were just shooting pure disenchantment and anger at her.His steady glare was burning her to the core that not only baffles her but also concerns her.
The garlanding ceremony completes and Payesh walks for the next ritual . Khushi couldn't move first from his fixed troubled glare. She was more concerned for his silence and didn't want to leave him alone.She walks and joins the crowd as she has to be with her family in these rituals but couldn't resist turning back and giving him a puzzled look and that one confused glimpse of her becomes a catalyst for his move towards her as he was waiting for this cue.He strides fast by cutting across all the guests.He slows down near her and walks beside her. Her questioning eyes meets with his denunciatory and anger filled eyes. The very next moment, right in the middle of the crowd, he holds her wounded wrist and she winced with pain, pulls her away from the Mandap and drags her towards their Eternal Heaven [ Poolside]
Pause here: Double meaning...He is a destructor and savior here as he is the one who did the bandage as a healer and now he is the one who is opening the wound again to destroy her dreams...pointing out opposite also as she is the healer of him and she is the one opening his wounds too.
Pondering Connected Dots: A long awaiting loop is closing here.At Dargha they both are walking parallel in the same direction as chadar is in between em and they have no clue about each other.The Mandir walk, after the bandagement, they are walking parallel in the same direction with distance in between em angry.On the hill walking with Payesh while Payesh in the middle together and they both had the physical distance but with eyes full of longing and yearning for each other.Today they are walking together with hate ,in between guests behind Payesh as a connection but in the same direction because from now on either hate or love they will be together.Must say one couple is walking with love and the other is with hate. How ironic,This parallel walk started with misunderstanding and ended again with misunderstanding...wow ...as this walk from now on will be persecuted...
Must say Barun with stoned ,frozen looks to versatile gulps for each emotion with tensed muscles along with Sanaya with her growing anxiety and performing all rituals by fixated glares was just awesome...I got Sanaya back in this epi...
Mamaji's second dialogue..."Dekho kaisey dono utawlaey ho rahaey hai eik dossrey se bhiya keh liye..."[Both are getting impatience for marrying each other] is coming in the picture but in a slight different way.Deal is setting upstairs while the marriage rituals about to begin downstairs and before that Arnav Singh Raizada imposes a proposition with some severe conditions for the rituals to proceed by placing Khushi in a predicament and confused state.Darkness prevails in Khushi with disbelief after listening this. She looks at her Rajkumar with disbelieving eyes .She keeps riveting on his remorseless face trying to believe that is this the same Rajkumar who teased her yesterday to bring a smile on her face, who welcomed her with desirous and lit up eyes. Her disbelief and incredulity rolls down with tears as this Rajkumar Vs Shaitan just pierced an arrow into her heart relentlessly by besieging the darkness in her surroundings. She gives him a disdainful look which meets with his dark frozen gaze and she ends up with her lonely friends "tears".Those tears which move him always have no effect today.He waits for her answer and looks serene as he is in no rush while the family is getting tensed downstairs ..
Thinkable Moment: Khushi's words after which Arnav clutches the steering is making him clutch her hand here all the way to the temple to make her his.. " humare zindagi mein agar koi aisa hota jo humare saath rishta toh banana chahta hai par uss rishte ko koi naam nehin dena chahata to usse bada humare liye aur koi beizzati nehin hogi" "[if any person who wants to have a relationship with mebut doesn't want to give a name, then that would be my biggest humiliation"]. That loop is closing here and for that he is doing a contract marriage which will stigmatize Khushi. This step of him will leave a door or redemption and repentance for him later and he will be the one who will do whatever it will take to name this relation to win her with respect.
Khushi with barren eyes fixated her gaze at his cold hearted voice when Arnav laid down his terms and conditions which leave her with no choice. She is facing a heinous condition which is challenging the very roots of her values and beliefs. Khushi listens with tearful eyes but today her world collapses with her shattered dreams and her own words are coming alive "Sapno ki Duniya main hi rehna acha hai..." .Her heart and mind both couldn't fight any more with this Shaitan/Rajkumar. In these few minutes she watched her love burning into ashes by a man she had considered her own who is a stranger now to her.But She is a pillar for her family ,she has to move on...but tears roll down at their own will. Khushi descends from her dream world to the reality and shakes off this darkness and comes down to the light, to her family. Arnav follows her in this matter and quickly assures his family and Akash and above all himself that everything is alright by his determined and fixated stare at Khushi...
The pheras rituals begin which make Payal emotional as her stigma is being washed away. Khushi lost in her collapsed and despaired world which she never shares with anyone just like Arnav .Her silence which is speaking with volume for him and making him numb seeing her in that state as well. Her beseeching and questioning eyes meet with his hawking and gauging ones.After teri meri his hawking eyes showed her ,he can't let go her off of his sight and today he is proving her.The marriage is complete. Buaji tells Khushi to put the Shagun thaal to a side but my grabber is she asks Arnav to help her.Khushi by composing herself behind her tears picks up the thaal and hands it over to Arnav whose eyes are watching her each reaction so closely and I must say he is getting calm seeing her state as it seems he found the answers of his unanswered questions and disbeliefs. He is a man who thinks is betrayed by this girl and despises himself as well as her but still somewhere in the his stone heart he still has a softness towards her in his eyes for a moment and then he calcified to remain in his shell. These silent conversations and interactions are being observed by snotty and angry Shyam whose twitches are broiling me here ..
PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: 1-A second loop is closing here ...Thaal .. During Teej puja thaal was handed to Arnav by Khushi but with Anjali's permission...and he touched her hands...but he accepted it .Today Buaji is telling Arnav and again Khushi is handing him and he accepted it after the purified moments and under the purified fire...Agni .They both are accepting each other in front of the havan without being aware of it.
2-Another loop is closing,Buaji is the one who gave Khushi's hand in Shyam's and today she is rectifying her mistake by handing over to Arnav ,her rightful owner but at the same time because of Arnav, Khushi ended up in Shyam's hands and today by touching her hands again he is accepting her and rectifying his mistake unintentionally .
Pause here:If you were reading my 7 pheras and all Today Kanyadaan has been done as Buaji gives Khushi's hand in his ,who is holding her.Teej day he asks for her hand from her and today he is accepting it from the elder of Khushi's family but without Khushi's consent...
Finally the wedding finishes with honor..both the sisters embrace each other with tears in their eyes,for Payal ...tears of relief as the stigma is finally washed away and for Khushi... it is just the beginning of the end.Arnav turns away this time as her tears do make him weakened no matter what.He shows guilt in his eyes yet determined and adamant to his intention ..
As people begin to depart after wedding party and Arnav and Khushi stand there alone.Arnav is fidgeting trying hide his real feelings while Khushi stands there with hope in her eyes that may be he will cut loose on her from his end but in vain.King's stoned decision is ready to stone his Queen behind marble walls. Her distress and tears couldn't move him a bit.She gives him last look before marching towards the door to seal the proposed deal of him from her end, as "hum ne zuban di hai..." .Arnav starts walking behind her and walks past and comes ahead of her while Khushi drags herself with hesitant and afraid mind behind him . Her each step is protesting against this dark fate which is against her beliefs but she doesn't stop either.She comes out of the door where her Arnavji welcomed her yesterday and today he shut that door behind her.My grabber is she gives him one last hopeful look before walking out and then bows down her head which Mamaji said earlier...Her last defeated walk into the night as the door gets closed behind her from her family and loved ones who are the reason of her survival and existence for a while.No doubt Khushi walks into the darkness but not alone as her Rajkumar is right behind her ,besides her as always,Hamesha!!! They both will win this darkness by their LOVE...as La's words will come to life..."Pyar sab se bada hota hai...Make sure use khabi jane mat daina" and Arnav will never let Khushi go !!!...He will make her his "Queen" and he will win her back...just like she will win him with her Love and innocence as The name "iss pyar ko kya naam doon "will only be achieved when they both will truly and honestly love each other without any condition and only for each other.
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
