Wow, today's episode gave me goosebumps. Hats off to Geetanjali & Manish. The episode belonged to them today.

Anjali nearly had tears in her eyes as her parents left & NA, noticing that, called out 'Anjali' in a loud, strict tone. NA's voice was enough to awaken Mrs Niranjan Agnihotri. I realised that just like Shlok who oscillates between his inner demons & his growing attraction for Astha, Anjali too is constantly oscillating between being Mrs Niranjan Agnihotri & Anjali. Anjali yearns for her parents & has tears in her eyes as she thinks about them but Mrs Niranjan Agnihotri humiliates her parents & calls for guards to send them away. Niranjan probably realised that his tone was louder than usual, so he quickly dismissed the topic by apologizing to everyone. He couldn't let people see his mask slip. Vinayak noticed it though as his face was fuming with anger.
As everyone walked away, Anjali's expressions changed & she looked forlorn. The crowd was walking away, everyone concerned with the next ritual where the bride would cry, but no one was concerned about Anjali's tears. No one noticed the tears that she was trying so hard to hide. That's what being lonely in a crowd is all about.

Despite Astha being the one who was crying during bidaai, Anjali's fear & NA's anger stole the moment. Anjali, as usual, was being rude to Kirloskars. This time round, it wasn't Anjali's ego that was speaking. It was her need to show NA that she is still very much in control. NA's wife was speaking here.
With Anjali being rude to Kalindi, Avdoot decided to speak to the person who he taught would take better care of Astha. So he went to NA with the same request that every father makes to the in-laws after their daughter weds into the life. NA was being nice again, promising Avdoot that he would treat Astha like his daughter. The daughter who he doesn't care a damn about. The daughter for whom he did not feel even a little ounce of sympathy upon hearing that she was being abused. Probably he married Jyoti into that family knowing what kind of people they were. He obviously couldn't be bothered to ensure that his daughter is being sent to a good place. He just wanted to get rid of her. Vinayak & Varad were in the background & both clearly saw through NA. Varad, especially, had a 'whatever' look on his face. Somewhere he knows that these are just empty words.

SCENE OF THE DAY : NA physically abusing Anjali with the stick. NA was at his darkest today. Scary would be an understatement. The poor woman was so scared that she didn't even dare to look him in the eye. It was as though she was constantly pleading with him for her life.
Today confirmed that Anjali was definitely an Astha in the past, who fell for NA's charms & got trapped. Just like Astha, she too, fell in love with NA so bad that by the time, she realised what he was, she couldn't leave. Even if she wanted to leave, NA closed the doors, leaving no way for her to escape. His reflection in the windows on both sides with Anjali in the middle, crying, was significant in highlighting how NA has cornered her from all angles. It reminded me of Astha lying on the floor & crying after Shlok had broken her bangles in the Kohlapur scene. Both women there were delicate & vulnerable at that moment, craving for some love & affection.

Anjali was in a frantic state as Tai called out. Seems like the whole family is unaware of NA's abuse. She could not give NA another chance to abuse her. So, she quickly attempted to wipe her tears & apply something to her wound. These 2 made me cry so bad today. While the whole family was smiling with Astha entering the house, Anjali stood far away, alone. She wasn't involved in the celebrations at all. Even Shlok looked at her with anger & defiance, & did not notice the pain in her eyes. Wonder what NA was doing in his room all this time. Wonder why no one noticed that he wasn't present?

Anjali was right in remarking that Astha is much luckier because she is getting married to Shlok. Even though that comment was made in the context of Jyoti, but it is very much applicable to the whole Agnihotri family. Yes, Shlok is getting his revenge, but he will never be as dark, or as disconnected like NA & Varad, respectively. No matter what his purpose is, he notices Astha's tears & he is much more liberal in that he doesn't believe in doing things for a show, unlike NA. Despite being a lot like NA in his relationship with Astha, he never hid his dark side when trying to woo Astha. He has made clear what he is. It's just that somewhere Astha doesn't see it or rather chooses to turn a blind eye to it & makes herself believe that it is love. Astha's question to Shlok on whether this was his love when he did not support her emphasised that when she was talking to Vinayak the other day, she did exclude Shlok. So somewhere she does recognise that they have physical intimacy, but the only person with whom she actually connected with in that house was Vinayak. She is just so infatuated with Shlok that she lives in her dreams. And believes her dreams to be reality.

Can someone please translate what Astha said in marathi during the grahpravesh scene & what that ritual meant?

Do share your thoughts!

Cheers,
Samridhi

beautifully written, Samridhi!
I am not in a state to comment. Anjali's tears and NA's anger on his face made me cry. I cannot imagine how she has lived all these years, that too, without telling anyone how she feels.

I loved how you compared shlok and Anjali. Both are lost in there own worlds and may be like in case of Anjali, its NA who destroyed shlok's world and caged him by using swati.
I agree about Aastha too, no matter what we say the signs were there and aastha accepted him because she wanted him.

p.s. yes, Manesh and geetanjali deserve a standing ovation

Sam, I am compelled to comment today because of the episode & your post.

The scene between Anjali & Niranjan was very real. It is a reality for many women. It was a reality for me once. Niranjan was at his worst. More aptly, he was at the lowest level any man can stoop to. And my heart did go out to Anjali who desperately attempted to cover up all her wounds. I am amazed at her capacity to be able to tolerate. I was in a similar situation once where I was kneeling, not being able to look that man in his eye because of fear. But that was it. It was my breaking point & I knew that no matter what I had to survive & I had to get out. My personal experience definitely affects the way I viewed everything today so I do not know whether Anjali should be respected for her high tolerance or whether I should ridicule her for being able to tolerate this all these years. No doubt about the fact that Niranjan of course should deserve the harshest sentence.

I am very interested to see the revenge Niranjan has planned for the Kirloskars. He has not forgotten anything & he will get back to them for every insult, with interest of course. As you rightly said Astha's real battle begins now. Shlok is more liberal but you cannot forget that he is his father's son. And its not like he is not abusive. Unlike most people's opinion, I would not be surprised if Shlok ends up abusing her when she tries to escape. The slap & everything that happened in Kohlapur was just a trailer. I am alright with which ever way he turns out as long as Astha does not become another Anjali. She needs to break this cycle of abuse.

My god NA & Anjali stole the show.
The scene of NA's reflection on both sides of Anjali and his half face is so dark that you could not even see his eye showed how EVIL he is...

Poor Anjali has nowhere to go she even could not raise or even flicker her eyelids when NA came towards her. poor soul.

I think the plot is coming little clear or so I think... Shlok will take revenge against aastha but in private...As aastha being nosy she will find out what actually happened wrt Anjali and her parents.

I really hope AA has a shoulder to cry on soon.

PS: Your analysis are superb

Wonderfully analysed Sam! The best part is you've given a detailed analysis of the episode and I agree with you that no matter what Shlok can never be like NA because NA is sinister and one of his kind. For all his flaws, Shlok has some humanity in him deep down and that I think is going to save Aastha from NA when the time comes.

I have still not been able to come out of NA-Anjali sequence and re-posting my views here from Myra's thread:

Nothing was as gripping as NA-Anjali scene today and I think a majority of the viewers will agree with that. Manish Wadhwa was bang-on when he said on his twitter handle that today's episode will have a turning point scene and indeed NA-Anjali's sequence proved to be exactly that. You couldn't remain unmoved when you saw NA's savage anger and Anjali's naked fear. I would never ever want to be in Anjali's place as she has virtually nobody on her side in her life. Her husband abuses her both physically and mentally, her son Shlok hates her guts, the other son doesn't seem to feel any visible attachment to his mother, Daughter Jyoti and DIL Sojal are blissfully unaware of her plight ---- Anjali is all alone on her own and at the mercy of a very lethal man who unfortunately happens to be her husband! Now I wonder if Anjali ever tried to walk out of this extremely abusive relationship and was trapped so badly that every time she tried running she was ruthlessly dragged back to this horrible world by NA. I really hope Aastha helps Anjali out at some point because this lady seriously needs help.

However, I fear for Aastha now. By entering Agnihotri mansion as the bahu, she has actually signed up for a dangerous game with a deadly man at the helm of things. Shlok's still a baby before NA, he doesn't know his baba's true colors and Shlok's revenge is not even the real issue here I guess. It's all about the fulfilment of one person's whims and desires and that man is undoubtedly NA. If at a later stage, Aastha unknowingly steps on NA's toes, gets a wind of NA-Anjali's real equation and god forbid, accidently witnesses Anjali's abuse at NA's hand, she'd be in deep, deep trouble. I shiver to think what NA would do to Aastha if she decides to show his real face to the world! If nothing else I really hope Shlok is by Aastha's side and saves her from his evil father's wrath. I am also wondering if this marriage has been done so early in this show because the real battle starts now between Aastha and NA with his true colours getting revealed gradually to the viewers.

I am happy that the show and the story are again moving. Now not only looking forward to Shlok breaking Aastha's heart most probably during their honeymoon period but also NA's devious machinations designed especially to suck in Aastha and Avdhoot further in his web.

Acting wise everybody was good today as usual but for me the episode belonged to Anjali and NA! The way NA wiped off his tilak and then with immense anger and that dangerous glint in his eyes looked at Anjali was spine-chilling. This man needs to be arrested and put in jail ASAP! He is evil-personified! Hats off to Geetanjali and Manish Wadhwa for giving us a power-packed episode. I am glad the CVs kept Shlok-Aastha romance for tomorrow because today's highlight was indeed NA and Anjali'.

Sam lovely analysis
a great episode today. Geetanjali and Manesh stole the show with their great performances.
I must say I was in tears today for Anjali.
So finally we are aware now of what goes between NA and Anjali behind closed doors and what that stick is used for. I doubt this NA has any human side to him. The way he was speaking with Anjali and his glaring angry eyes just brings the shivers. Anjali was definitely another Aastha and NA degraded her from her identity. I can feel how bad this woman is feeling. She is burning from the inside. Putting a fake smile and looking strong from the outside while her heart is bleeding from the inside and she is not were close to the term strong.
I just hope Aastha can find out soon about NA's true face and help Anjali. I'm also hoping Shlok doesn't turn out another NA and makes Aastha another Mrs. Agnihotri.

I m managing to post here after ages..
Bt today I jst want to clap for Geetanjali and Manish..👏👏👏 brilliant actors they r..

n i also liked the fact tht CVs implied the abuse very strongly without showing it openly on screen...Kudos to them for tht..👏👏..They mst hv read d reaction of the forum to tht "slap" in kolhapur...😉

I was really shocked to see the extent of mental n physical abuse Anjali has been constantly going through all these years..Today's episode truly belonged to Anjali..

when i saw the scene where Anjali was looking hurt n lost n entire crowd was leaving around her for next ritual..she was all alone..no one s there to notice her pain, sorrows..I feel Astha will fill tht vacuum..I m reminded of these lines from one song i heard smwhere when i watched tht scene..

Dekhiye to lagta hai..Zindagi ki raahon me..
Ek bheed chalti hai..
Sochiye to lagta hai..Bheed me hai sab tanha..

Jitne bhi ye Rishte hai..kaanch ke khilone hai..
pal me toot sakte hai..

ek pal me ho jaaye..koi jaane kan tanhaa.."

these lines suit Anjali..she has all her family members around her..bt still she s all alone

Wonder tht s wat going to happen to Astha too..😕😕

Bt Astha's dialogues abt her having trust in her love and today when she promised tht she will make Shlok's life happy and will spread love n happiness in tht house made me think otherwise..

Also i noticed tht Vinayak will openly support Astha the way he supported her today..

I m excited to see d story now coz i know the real story has begun jst now..

😛😛

Neha, I concur with you.

The real challenge for Astha is not Shlok. It is NA. Shlok is a mere pawn in NA's hands. If NA was this angry for Anjali's parents turning up, I cannot imagine the extent of revenge he has planned for the Kirloskars, given how they have humiliated him not once but a few times. In the scene between NA/Anjali, NA's dialogue was so significant, because it emphasized that it's all about ego for this man.

You know even if Shlok stands up for Astha, I do not know, esp. after today, to what extent he would be able to protect her. NA is not someone who will give up so easily. Astha even managing to reveal his true nature would be quite a task because he has managed to balance that public image & the man behind closed doors so well. The only thing that can trigger some thoughts in Astha's mind will be Anjali, who was at her most vulnerable today. Despite that, Anjali managed to put on a mask, so I wonder if she will ever break because I don't think NA can get any worser than what he was today. And she's probably been going through with all this torture all her life. So I really wonder what her breaking point will be.

NA definitely deserves to be put in jail.
