Irrfan to haunt Vishals Hamlet

Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to roll the last of his Shakespearean Trilogy.

Titled Hyder, the film is an adaptation of Hamlet-the dark revenge tragedy that has caught the imagination of readers for over 400 years. And after Tabu, Shahid Kapoor, and Shraddha Kapoor, the latest to join the cast is Irrfan Khan. The actor will be making in a special appearance in the film.

According to sources, Irrfan will play the ghost of the newlydead king Hamlet who torments young Hamlet urging him to avenge his murder, which sets in motion a trail of events that eventually destroys the entire family as well as the state.

Initially, Vishal wanted to start his trilogy with Hamlet and wanted Irrfan to play the protagonist. But it took him a long time to put the project together and now Irrfan can no longer fit the role of the young prince of Denmark.

This is the second time Irrfan, Tabu and Vishal will team up after the critically acclaimed Maqbool, which was based on Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Irrfan has also worked with Vishal in 7 Khoon Maaf, while with Tabu he has done two other films -- Life of Pi and The Namesake.
