Obviously the high point for me always is Jodha-Jalal scenes.
What I liked was even when Jalal was occupied with the beautiful sight in front of his eyes, Jodha picking flowers in the garden, not even for one moment he got distracted from Atga Khan and the administrative plans he had in mind. This was a sign of being a true Shahensha. Loved that quality in him, he is so balanced in that regard, when it relates to personal matters he is a different person but not for one moment he neglects or let go of his administrative policies or planning something urgent. For a person with no education he had tremendous foresight and expertise in handling matters.
The garden scene was fantastic. It was soft, a familial scene enveloped in compassion & love based on fond memories. Loved the flashback and his connecting the present with the past. And Jodha too came to know he had her payal. Jodha my dear, he is not only your 'payal chor' but your 'dil chor' as well. Very soon you might be wondering to yourself 'that particular moment I left my heart open and you quietly entered it and kept the key to yourself and I didn't even realize this'.
Only glitch in that scene for me was Jalal going to put the payal back on her feet out in the garden. I will explain why CV's. Jalal is the husband and Jodha is his wife, its fine what he does or puts on her but to others he is still the Shahensha, be it the maids, ministers, other begums or relatives. A Shahensha bowing down to his begum and putting something in public is not my cup of tea and neither do I think it was acceptable then. If this was in his or her room I would have had no problems with that scene. Think about it CV's, though he is a husband, he is still a Shahensha, he has to maintain his status and respect in public, in private he can do anything he wants. It is my opinion rest it is up to you all.
Ok can we have a role reversal CV's or a scene reversal? I want Jodha telling a story to Rahim and obviously Jalal will walk in and will lie down with Rahim listening to Jodha. Jodha on purpose will start with,' this is a story of a wonderful, nice and kind princess who got married to a cruel, hot tempered, ruthless Emperor'. And Immediately Jalal will say this is not true and Jodha will ask him 'oh you know the story, then why don't you tell it?' and Jalal will say no its ok, you go ahead. And the scene continues with Jalal laughing away and Jodha looking at him with love and laughter. That will be a fantastic scene, re-enactment of Amer with a role reversal.
And Jodha thank god you are not in administration yet!! Lady you have a lot to learn! What do you think the world is like? Every one is like Jalal who will listen to your rants and accusations with a smirk and casually lets it go and in turn will falls for you? You went ahead and told Sharif everything you know?? 😲 Why? Why would you give your trump card away to your enemy? Now he will be on alert and will alert Adham as well and not only that he will be plotting against Jodha and will slowly poison Jalal against her.
And then the precap...why Jodha why? Why will you tell Ruqaiya everything? What happened between Jalal and you and what did not happen is none of her business but yours and Jalal's. Why do you have to justify to her anything? This is the major difference between Jalal and Jodha. He will be sweet and nice, all smiles but he will say what he has to without a stutter...in not so many words he conveys to he other person to 'shut up and mind your business' but Jodha being the upright, straightforward and righteous princess with no exposure to family politics and always loved and respected by her relations is unable to comprehend the equations of this harem and wears her heart on her sleeve all the time. As I said earlier in one of my post to her life is either Black or White, nothing in between. You have to learn to be diplomatic, to gauge others, to measure up your opponents and think before you speak. On this regard Ruqaiya is way ahead of her because that is what she is expert in, plotting, scheming and dominating others. I don't mean and want Jodha to be like Ruqaiya but I want her to be sensible and gauge the situation and think before she speaks.
The first scene between Jalal and Ruqaiya shows a major change of equation. Jalal for the first time broke a tradition. He always spends the 1st night with Ruqaiya when he returns from some place and this time he willingly and happily spend it with Jodha and he was not ashamed of it and neither did he make any excuses for it. He knew Ruqu was jealous and will be mad but he knew how to calm her down or rather he didn't do anything to calm her down. From Jalal's perspective priorities have changed already and slowly Ruqaiya though in denial is getting it and is burning in insecurity. Her major trepidation is Jodha will get more powerful and might snatch the Mallika-e-khaas title from her. Its all a game for power as far as she is concerned.
I can see how the CV's are slowly laying the base for Jalal and Jodha misunderstanding. I am expecting Hamida to go some where for some days now. If they show that tomorrow I will be 100% sanguine that a major twist is coming up to create a misunderstanding between Jalal and Jodha with no one to intervene and play cupid. The test for Jodha will be to handle the harem and the palace and Shahensha with expertise in Hamida Bano's absence. I am speculating this and I may be wrong. Will see what will be in store for us.
I liked the Diwan-e-khaas scene, Jalal roaring with full power and authority and most importantly with logic and brain! Again a true sign of an emperor!
As I always will wait and watch! I will give today's episode a B+ CV's.
