NEW FF 'MISTAKEN IDENTITY' chap 2 pg 7 - Page 4

He remembered the incident that took place yesterday, he had kept a class test for the students, based on the portions he had taught till then, unlike the usual 10 marks test, he prepared a 40 marks test to write within an hour, with over 7 essay questions uday was sure none would be able to complete the full exam on time. As he gave them the question paper he sarcastically told them with a smirk. " it's a short test , I just gave it an hour, so that you could get time to write your answers and yet have extra time to recheck it" the students groaned seeing the questions they were expected to write. His eyes meet each of their gloomy faces and then, he saw her face- manyta's, her face looked tensed as she grabbed her pen and started to attack her answer sheet mercilessly.

After half an hour she just sat their put her pen down, and stared outside the window. Maybe she does not know the answers, he thought

After an hour he came to take away their paper , he told, " put down your pens, I hope you must have got enough time,give me your papers."

Everyone groaned " sir, more time"

" no, you got enough time already" he added with a chuckle and began collecting the papers. As he reached manyta, she gave him the paper without a fuss and with a small smile. He had to struggle with the others to part them from their papers.

Later in the staffroom as he started to correct their papers, he was surprised going through her paper, she had managed to write all answers in half an hour's time in her totally beautiful handwriting and she had scored full marks...that's one good student, he thought

He liked the way her eyes would follow him as he took classes for them, totally observant about what he was saying absorbing it like a sponge.

"sir?" a voice awoke him from his thoughts. "talk of the devil and here she is."

Virendra singh helped his sister to unpack their things in their new flat in Mumbai. They were earlier settled in UP, But nw came to Mumbai, because virendra got transferred to the special branch here.
Virendra's and shreya's parents had passed away in a car accident when virendra was 16. He then raised his younger sister who was 6 years younger to him, alone. He became her mother, father and brother. Shreya was the apple of his eye

Virendra hugged his sister and told her " see, shreya, bhaiya is here in the city for an important task, so I wont be coming home often, and if you see me in the city, whatever be my state, DO NOT acknowledge me, don't come to running and shouting bhaiya"

" but bhaiyya?"

" just don't make this difficult for me. its just I am working on a touch case, so I need to protect my identity along with yours, I cant live if anthing happens to you,

"bhaiyya, why do you go for such risky jobs?" sobbing on his shoulder

"baby, listen to me, its my job, and I have to do it, don't even speak to your friends about me ok??? Please:"

"ok, but I will miss you"

"so will I, so be a good girl and study hard, make your bhaiyya proud"

Dhirendra baba sat on his usual spot in his "judgment room" he was huge man, of average height, fully bearded and wearing a turben, he wore dhothi and a loose shirt, it was difficult to see his face except for his eyes.

Today the victim was a 26 year old man who was caught in the act of molesting a 14 year old kid. In the midst of baba and his goons, this man stood in the midst of them weeping like a small kid

"so you are found guilty for the mistake for which you are on trial her today" said the tall man next to baba , baba rarely ever spoke a work to anyone, but the man, shyam knew what was in his mind and spoke on his behalf

"please, please... I ... never ever do it...ffforgive meee"

Before anyone could react, dhirendra baba pulled his gun and BAMMM , the man was on the floor, dead it was just a perfect shot through his head.

take him away' came a very soft spoken reply that spoke danger in that

abhaya washed her hands stained with gunpowder, as she came to her room shyam uncle stood there, he looked worried.

"you know abhaya what you are doing?"

"I know perfectly well uncle"

"you are putting yourself at great risk, ypu don't have to do it, you know"

" I have already decided, I am willing to do it"

" what about dhirendra baba?"

"baba wont worry about this (winking) what baba does not know wont harm him"

"this is a game of life and death, don't you understand for god's sake?"

"that's why I love this game- the game of life and death, we have an empire built and I am not giving up all this for a cheap police officer"

"yes manyta?

"sir I just did not understand about what you spoke about the ac analysis of a common emitter amplifier?"

Uday looked in her eyes as he explained. He always noticed that she flinched every time he looked at her, she tried to look somewhere else other than his face , he noticed how she fidgeted with her specs or her duppetta, and he wanted to take it away from her hands.

"all you have to do is short circuit the voltage circuits and the capacitors"

" but I still..." she said making her face and raising one of her eyebrows high up, it was one expression that he loved about her, it made her look young and innocent, everytime she did not understand about anything he said she had this look on her face and he could not continue till she was satisfied

After spending half an hour explaining to her how it was so and finally seeing the frown on her face disappear, he smiled

"thanks so much sir, I guess I should leave now"as she looked her watch she exclaimed " oh god, its so late, I did not notice it was 6 already"

as uday packed his bag and saw how dark it was he added,

" I would leave you if you want"

"leave me?"

" ya, its late , its not safe for you to alone, I will leave you in my bike"

"er??/" she looked with a look of doubt and finally said..." ok"
