Fatefully yours?
Khushi looked at her daughter's happy face who was little lost in the movie and the characters. She could not concentrate in the movie as her thoughts were been occupied with someone else. Arnav loved Hollywood movies and enjoyed it immensely. Now, when she was with her daughter trying to watch a movie of her like, she could not just help lest think about the person who was her everything..everything she wished, wanted and yearned for.
The lights flickered on one by one and people started to move out as the movie has been finished. Cammy pouted and looked sideways at her mother, who was staring at the blank screen on the front, too lost in her own world.
"Mumma, you were not paying attention. You missed every thing..."
Khushi almost stiffened on her seat and her eyes caught Cammy's sulking face next to her.
"I am sorry. Did you enjoy the movie?"
Cammy nodded and jumped out of her seat and then they were out of the movie house. Cammy's small hands almost dragging Khushi out of there in hurry. Khushi followed her daughter with a faint smile on her face and her eyes caught a familiar face in the crowd of people who were all gathered in front the mall for some lucky contest.
The person waved at her from a distance and Khushi's steps halted recognizing him at once. Cammy looked at the person and her mother confusedly and stopped on her track as well.
Khushi's grip on Cammy's hands tightened and she did the unexpected by turning to the adjacent door to exit the mall. Cammy was been however confused by her mother's resolute but kept mum when the person finally stood in front of them, blocking their way.
"Khushi ji.."
Khushi did not wait for him to speak anything further and walked past him, holding onto Cammy's hands. Cammy kept looking back at him as they got out of the mall and grabbed their shopped stuffs from the security counter.
"Khushi ji please..."
Khushi hurried with her moves totally knowing as why he was not backing away or the reason/person behind the same. Cammy withdrew her hands from her mother's hold and turned to the person who was hell bend on following them.
"My Mumma does not seem to enjoy your presence, why don't you..."
"Cammy, lets go.."
Khushi said dragging Cammy out of there, while she fisted the shopping bags in other hand.
A hesitant hand was been placed on Khushi's shoulder and without looking back at the person she shrugged it off her form.
"Nanhe ji, I know why you are here, and for whom..." Khushi paused and took in a long breath, her eyes almost closing at the mention. "Why does not he understand that I have moved on, and I have a life to live and a kid to take care of?"
"He does understand you Khushi ji! But why are you not giving him a chance to prove himself to you? Everyone deserves a second chance Khushi ji, I thought you would understand that better than anyone else..."
Khushi let out a mock laugh at his said words and then crossed her arms over her chest, looking more confident than she had ever looked. NK was confused beyond words but continued looking in her direction and the little girl beside her looking as confident as her mother.
"A second chance? Everyone deserves a second chance? What about me and my so called second chance? Does not I deserved one? On the other hand, was that been reserved only for Raizadas? I am sorry if I offended you.."
NK's trance broke and his shoulders stiffened at the mention. He knelt in front of Cammy who looked little lost in her thoughts.
"Its complicated and I was not here for Nannav, he left for Delhi yesterday and you wont be disturbed again by him.."
NK noticed Khushi's face failing to show the happiness she felt at the mention of Arnav leaving Kochi at the earliest.
"Why do you look disappointed? Were you expecting him to stay?"
NK rolled his eyes and shot a curious look at Khushi's perplexed form. She was lost for words for sure and NK was right, she indeed was been disappointed by the news of him leaving the place, but why? Left unanswered in her mind.
"So Chaahat, who do you like? Sid or Diego?"
NK asked poking Cammy's nose and she stepped away from him reaching for her Mumma's side.
"Its okay dear, I am your NK uncle. Your Dad's favorite cousin and now a partner. But you don't ask our area of partnership.."
NK winked at her and Cammy smiled looking at her mother's flustered face.
"Hello, Uncle NK!!
Cammy extended her small hands towards him and NK shook the same, his eyes twinkling with mischief as he did so.
"How about an Ice-cream?"
"I do not think that, Mumma will appreciate it.."
Cammy whispered into his ears while Khushi looked at the exchange curiously.
"Aww you must not worry, Khushi ji wont be a major threat in that case. Well, we can always buy her some piping hot jalebies..."
He whispered back grinning widely at Cammy's pouting face.
"But she did not like jalebies. I have never seen her having any of that dessert lately. NK's curious gaze met Khushi's coldest and expressionless ones and he sighed feeling extremely aware of the change in his Khushi ji. The bubbly girl, who left no stones unturned when it came to someone else's happiness. The girl who loved jalebies like her next breath. And seeing her just like any other person, all changed and accepted her fate, made him sad and worried for her instantly.

Arnav rushed towards his room tripping every now and then, his eyes giving away as he stumbled onto few steps in the last. Anjali, she was there, looking curiously at her brother, who was smiling?!!
"Chottey? You are late once again. go and get ready, everyone will be here anytime soon. By the way, Happy Diwali to you too..."
"Its Diwali today? Aapne pehle kyun nahi bataya di?"
"Why would I? You never celebrated any of these festivals since seven freaking years Chottey. Then why now?"
Arnav's face lit up suddenly thinking about the reason behind the same. he could no longer hide it from his di, and like his Khushi had said, happiness only doubles when you share it with your dear and near ones.
"Khushi... I found her di. not only her, but our "Chaahat" too. Yes di, we have a baby girl in our life now. I just cant believe my destiny and do you know how proud I felt after finding out that the girl I met, and adored instantly turned out to be my own blood. She's an amazing child and I cant wait to bring her home once I convinced Khushi.."
"She said and you believed that kid to be your daughter? You are pathetic Arnav..."
His Dadi's voice caught him off guard and the next moment he was cursing his fate which played a cruel game with him and his Khushi.
