aastha aastha she has lost it. she just got married to a man who might not love her, she didn't once think about her parents. the same parents who has given her everything yet not once she thought about how they will react. just b/c shlok said he will handle everything she should just let it go😕 i don't see even a flinch of pain in her eyes for getting married like this and not telling her parents. she is in la la land where only shlok exist but when the bubble will burst she will realize what kind of hell she has enter. i feel bad for her parents they saw everything today but it's too late their daughter is already in their claws.

dsr11, I so agree with you. The restrictions on love in india stem from the fact that there Is too much familial involvement and marriage is looked upon as a union of two families rather than two individuals unlike in the west. The choice to choose your life partner is still looked down upon in some families, unfortunately.

My parents met my husband in person, two days before we got married. That did not mean that I disrespected them , but rather that they trusted me to take the right decisions at that point of time. I equate getting married to gambling, you are lucky if things work out , irrespective of whether you get married with your parents blessings or not. People change with time and experiences , so what seemed like a perfect match during the wedding may be not be true years later.

In case of Astha, the reason people are so offended is because we know shlok has evil intentions going into the marriage, but in life many people get into a marriage ( sometimes, against their parents wishes) not knowing what is in store for them. That is a huge risk( some of us have taken it) and undortunately in Asthas case ,she will not be so lucky.

Dua is your name right? You are right, any kind of marriage is a gamble, be it love or arranged. One of my distant aunt's marriage wasn't rosy even though her husband was chosen by her mom and dad. He would lock her up in the house so that she wouldn't see/meet anyone. My marriage is rosy and it is arranged. I mean I picked this guy from a bunch of photos of guys, if that could be called my choice, but I too respected my parents' wishes.

It was the lack of guilt after the wedding, and enjoying herself that pissed me off...sorry but I hope she pays for it, and I hope her parents disown her

Oh I'm so sorry Sandhya. My name is Rekha. I think we are happy because we stay far away from our families. Bol diya. As much as I love both our families, the very few times me and my husband argued is because of the differences between our parents. Familial involvement almost in all cases complicates things.

No problem, I am terrible at remembering names. Rekha, I have to agree with you. I am happy to be away from both of our families, less complications. In fact when either of our families visit, I feel like the hubby and me have drifted apart because we hardly get to talk to each other. 😊
