... Two Days Later ...
"hey armaan.." she was too chirpy to be believed..
armaan literally got a high voltage shock sensing her big smile on d other side of the phone.. he wasn't expecting this.. she was supposed to sound low or upset but not this chirpy while he've disclosed about his wedding plans.. oh hell!!! something stroke his mind nd he felt as if his surprise has become a complete waste.. Did aunty reveal my surprise?? i bet it is the case only.. i must hve known this before.. aunty can nvr see her princess upset.. oh no! armaan beta.. aab toh tu gaya kaam se.. basket tujhey kachcha chaba jayegi.. oh god.. plz save me! abhi toh meri shadi hona baki hain.. Armaan quickly prayed in his heart before facing his jhansi-ki-rani..
"oyee.. tu kuch keh kyun nhi raha??" riddhima demanded still too jolly for his digestion..
"umm.. nahi.. kuch nhi basket.. waisey y are u this happy?? care to reveal.." armaan tried his best to control his voice so dat he didn't sound too eager or restless but failed miserably and as a result her smile widened more..
unlike armaan she didn't try to hide her happiness nd replied enthusiastically.. "of course armaan.. isi liye toh call kiya.."
and then she paused making him confuse even more.. why is she behaving so normal? he thought unable to solve the puzzle but nxt moment relaxed completely wen he understand the scenario.. phew!! i guess i'm saved for now.. aunty ne kuch nhi kaha hoga.. yeh koi aur hi matter hain.. but again his smile turned into a frown wen another realization hit him.. but aisa bhi kya ho gaya joh meri shadi se bhi basket ko koi fark nhi padh raha hain.. but before he can strain his brain anymore, she continued..
"armaan u knw wat.. something happened.. actually not something.. someone happened!!"
She was too enthusiastic dat made him confused lyk hell nd expectantly he asked.. "woo.. wat?? Someone?? basket are u sure u ok?.. ppl don't happen, u silly gal.." he laughed at her madness nd at once engaged himself into his fav pass time, pulling basket's leg..
"tch.. stop teasing me, armaan.. nd yes i'm absolutely alri8.. actually, i was nvr this fine before.. i'm juz.. (*deep breathe*).. i'm juz too too happy.. so happy dat i cn't belief myself still.. (*pause*).. well.. I knw I'm sounding insane but armaannn... u won't believe wat happened yesterday.. I mean.. I,myself cant blve it still.. omg!!! It actually happened.. armaan u understand, It. Actually. Happened.."
she kpt on blabbering in her over excited voice making armaan uneasy to his core.. don't knw why but he wasn't feeling it good anymore.. something wrong was going to happen.. nd this feeling of negativity made his heart beats erratic..
"basket.. umm.. i knw u're hppy.. i cn sense it but.. umm.. u still haven't said the reason?" his voice was breaking wth an unknown fear..
Riddhima took a deep breathe nd finally started, softly this time.. "umm.. wohh armaan.. wohh.."
Armaan felt awkwardly uneasy this time.. y is she stammering.. nd if i'm not wrong, i guess she's shying.. but why? wat happened last night dat she's behaving like this.. but before he can ask her anything further, she confessed, herself.. "Aditya proposed to me.."
She stopped nd he shouted in shocking "WHAT??" unable to believe his ears..
"yeah.. he proposed to me.. I was shocked too.. I nvr imagined him cuming nd proposing to me! Well.. how cn I dream something like that? He's too good for a gal lyk me.. he's handsome.. intelligent.. rich.. humble.. funny.. cute.. I mean.. he's juz way too perfect nd look at me.. I'm juz a simple gal.. nothing but an absolute stupid, idiot, crazy.. umm.. wat u call.. yeah jhalli.. a big jhalli.. .. in short i'm just too average to dream so high..!"
She paused but wen she got no reply, she started again.. "umm.. I nvr told u armaan.. but I alwaz had a secret crush for him.. from the very first day at school.. he was my neighbor.. I almost grew up wth him but his features started fascinating me wen I was in class 7 or 8.. he used to sit in front of my bench.. although we're classmates but I nvr dared to go nd talk to him.. well.. he had too mny attention to rejoice.. why would he look at me nd as expcted, he nvr did.. but yesterday when I went office all solemn nd upset, he came to my cabin nd.. (she paused) nd.. (she tried again but fumbled) nd he confessed how much he loves me.. (this time she completed her sentence in one go) I'm his 1st luv armaan.. he luvs me even before I felt sumthing diff for him.. cn u blve dat?? He actually loves me.. oh my god!! I still cnt belve how he cn luv a gal lyk me.. I dnt desrve him.. his too good for me.. dnt u think so,armaan??"
she paused this time waiting for his answer desperately.. she needs assurance.. she needs his support.. He took a deep breathe nd whispered.. "u alwaz underestimated urself riddhima.. u r not an avg person.. u r too good to be real.. It's adi who's fortunate to get u, not u.. because u r an angel in disguise full of love, care, honesty nd positivity.. u're some one whom everybody wishes to include in his life but I guess not everyone is as lucky as adi.."
armaan's tone was exceptionally honest as well as serious.. she wasn't expecting him to say this.. he was supposed to tease her even more for disclosing her old secrets nd being proposed by a guy finally.. he alwaz teased her on how she'll die being a virgin as no guy can marry a pagal like her but he's juz saying complete opposite..
"armaan.. yeh tu??"
riddhima started feeling concerned for him.. he wasn't sounding fine.. but he cut her in d middle..
"kuch nhi basket.. leave it! waisey basket can I ask u something?"
he don't want her to dig the matter anymore.. now there is no reason to disclose his feelings to her.. but although, he wanted to skip the matter but he failed helplessly..
"of course idiot.. from wen u need permission to ask me anything?"
riddhima asked trying to sound normal to cheer him up but failed ultimately.. the situation is every thing but funny!
"umm riddhima.. u said u were sad in d morning wen u went office.. umm.. wat happened dat u were dat upset??"
nd he paused waiting impatiently for her ans.. he could feel his heart beating two times faster than before making his ear able to sound it's restlessness..
"u dnt need to knw dat portion armaan.. it'll mke u uneasy.."
she was serious too..
"trust me.. I won't.. plz tell me riddhima.."
riddhima felt a jolt of current hearing his soulful whisper.. he never sounded like this.. he sounded as if he knew her answer but how's dat possible!
"i.. i.. I was upset dat u are going to get married.."
she confessed stammering, her eyes shut tight..
"why?"
he didn't tease her but asked too seriously to made her gasp..
"i.. I thought I'm in luv wth u.."
she confessed making him choke his breathe this time..
"oh! So.. are u?"
his voice was dangerously hopeful..
"I dnt think dat make any sense now, armaan.. u r getting married to a gal whom u approved willingly.."
riddhima tried to pass the issue but he was no mood to let go after knowing this much..
"dat's not d ans of my question basket.. tell me.. are u in luv wth me?"
unknown to himself, his fingers got crossed nd his heart started praying for her positive answer..
"yes.."
she didn't deny but accept finally..
"yes??"
he was too shocked to believe wat he's heard..
"of course armaan.. u r my best frnd.. but I guess I misunderstood my luv for u.. but yesterday wen adi confessed his feelings, I realized it was alwaz him.. he was my 1st luv.. I nvr considered dat case as we were nvr even stand close to good frnz.. i awlz stayed glued wth u nd simply messed my own feelings.. but thnk god.. u said u're going to marry nxt month.. otherwise he would hve nvr come to console me nd I could hve nvr knwn his feelings.."
she paused only to hear his monosyllabic answer.."hmm"
"armaan.. i'm soryy.. I knw I alwaz act dumb nd do stupidest things nd again I proved u right.. but trust me I juz messed up my feelings for you... plz don't misundrstnd me, armaan.. I cnt lose my bst frnd.. tu mujhsey gussa nahi hain,na??"
she asked d last sentence helplessly making him sigh in defeat.. it's over! everything is over! he went to play a prank wth her emotions nd now god has punished him for torturing this naive soul.. he felt vulnerable..
"no.. (he controlled quickly before his voice becomes huskier due to his mental turmoil).. nahi yaar jhalli.. main tujhsey gussa ho sakta hoon bhala.. tu bhi na pagal hain poori ki poori.."
he tried to be her humorous best frnd but he forgot who was on the other side of the call.. it's his riddhima.. she can differentiate his pretense from his real feelings..
"armaan jhoot mat bol.."
she said in her authoritative tone..
"I'm not lying riddhima.."
nd it was truth indeed.. he wasn't lying actually.. riddhima sensed nd paused for a brief moment..
"thn y are u not happy?? My armaan cn nvr stay indifferent wen it cums to my happiness.."
she too was in no mood to leave the topic now..
"I'm hppy for u riddhima.. it's juz.. I'm feeling like losing u forever.."
although her "my armaan" almost urged him to confess his feelings but he controlled.. he doesn't want to torture her anymore.. he got his opportunity nd lost due to his own stupidity.. in no ways, he'll make her suffer wth his idiocity..
"armaan.. yeh kaisi.."
riddhima started to cross-question but armaan cut her before she could submit her doubts..
"no.. sach mein.. aab tu shadi karke chali jayegi toh main kissey raat ke 1bajey call karke satayunga.. hayyee.. main toh bore ho jayunga yaar.. (although he successfully sounded teasing this tym but nxt momnt confessed honestly).. I'll miss u basket.."
as soon as he paused she could hlp but whisper a soulful "oh armaan".. but thn she, too, collected herself nd played along.. "oyee.. main bas shadi kar rahi hoon.. mar nhi rahi hoon joh miss u miss u ki rath laga rakha hain.. (thn she paused nd started seriously)... trust me armaan, u was, u are nd u'll be alwaz my 1st priority.. tu jab chahey mujhey disturb kar sakta hain.. (she paused again but this tym chnged her tone in a teasing one..) u see... main kabhi manti nhi but I luv u more wen u annoy me.."
but to her surprise, in spite of direct clue to pull her leg, he didn't bother to mess up wth her brain this tym but asked seriously..
"toh kya plan hain age ka??"
riddhima sighed but thn replied wth a straight tone..
"age ka.. umm.. filhaal toh tujhey merey liye ek kaam karna hoga.."
her serious tone made him startled for a nano second but he replied anyway..
"anything for u,basket.."
riddhima smiled getting her desired reply but still maintained her voice controlling her urge to spill the beans..
"open d main door.."
"sorry.." armaan couldnt hlp but asked being confused.
"open d main door idiot.. kab tak gate ke bahar khadi rahungi.." this time her tone was completely chirpy nd teasing..
"basket.. tu bhool gayee main abhi delhi mein hoon, banglore mein nhi.." he tried to put sense in the brain of this crazy gal.. but wat he didn't knw dat she wasn't that stupid dat he thinks..
"really mr. super smart?? Huh! Mujhey pata hain.. main bhi teri delhi wali ghar ke hi bahar khadi hoon.. now close ur mouth nd open d door before I get highly pissed off.."
as soon as she ordered to close his mouth, he actually did as his lower jaw was hanging down making his mouth wide open for flies to have feast..
"wat the.."
He cut d call immediately nd ran towards n main door.. but opening it he got d biggest shock of life.. "tadaa.." she was standing there with her naughtiest yet cutest smile.. his eyes became wider in shock nd surprise but all his doubts regarding hallucinations got cleared wen she touched him..
"wat d hell is happening.." he couldn't hlp but mutter under his breathe wen he felt riddhima whispering 3 words in his ear after engulfing him in a warm, cozy hug.. "I missed u.."
