Creative head of the youth's most loved show Dil Dostii Dance,Palki Malhotra, has been asked to step down from her position completely, as somebody else would soon be taking over. From all the rumors that have been going around, the most prominent ones seem to be her bias towards Shantanu Maheshwari (Swayam), and also a likely return of Shakti Mohan (Kriya), besides Vrinda Dawda (Taani), on the show!
When we got in touch with Palki Ma'am to get a clear insight into everything, she said, " Firstly, yes I am stepping down from the show by end November, as the problems cropping up day by day just don't seem to end! Secondly, as people already know, Shantanu and I have always been close due to such baseless rumours about biases etc, and also, somehow we can never discuss D3 when not working because there is so much more to talk about! Once these things are known, people obviously think to another level of why SwaRon is doing so well, but the point is, if fans are loving SwaRon more, I can't help it! And to be honest, we all know that Rey was, is and always will be the prominent face of D3. I mean there have been times when the channel guys have called me asking why they are receiving mails from fans on why Rey's track is always the centre of attraction! So that's when one should wonder where the biases are coming in right? Moving on, yes Vrinda will be back very soon as Taani, and as I always maintained, sending her away was not a personal decision, as I felt incomplete without her. So I was very happy when the channel agreed with me on getting her back. Though talking about Shakti, I cannot comment as I am here only till November end, and the current track that I am working on still doesn't have her. Hence I am the wrong person to comment".
"But all said and done, D3 has completed 2 and a half years on air putting aside all the issues, which is a very proud moment for me, and that is what matters! I feel proud that all my finds have done well, my fights with the channel were for a right reason, and this only proves that one should always follow ones conviction. The fight for the name D3, to the casting of Kunwar Amarjeet Singh, Sneha kapoor, Vrushika Mehta. It has all been proved fruitful today and everything and everyone has worked hard and made me proud!"
Through a few prior observations and experiences due to having been closely associated with the entire D3 unit, it always felt as if Shakti Mohan, who might make a surprising re-entry into the show, could never gel well with creative director Palki Malhotra due to a lot of differences, even after her exit. And the computer room conversations also proved that the baseless bias rumours related to Swayam, Swaron etc were just never ending, and had to definitely be worked upon! So the question does arise, about which of these 2 strong factors has led to the decision of asking Palki Malhotra to leave?
Well whatever said and done, Dil Dostii Dance was, is and will always be the awesome creation of Palki Malhotra. Whose name will always be associated with this show regardless of whoever takes it up next, because D3 without Palki Ma'am is definitely not going to be the same now! And as a few insiders from the unit had once themselves said, "Hum to Palki Ma'am ke fan hain!" as she is just so good with her work! It also did prove to be so, as when she entered the tiny computer room, white hairband on her head, her signature yellow Simpsons or the black batman t-shirt and the large army themed laptop bag on her shoulder. Everybody would just get to attention and whisper to each other, "Palki Ma'am aa gayi!". Which was actually pretty cool. So, we too do agree with this statement.
