Manav Gohil and Sharad Kelkar have worked together in CID and Nach Baliye 2. Gohil says he'd got to know Kelkar's wife Keerti Gaiekwad first.
Keerti and I had gone to the US for a show and became friends. I was almost like her elder brother, always concerned about whom Keerti is getting involved with. And, that's when I was introduced to Sharad," recollects Gohil. Hum sab dost Gohil and Kelkar say that their wives, Shweta Kawaatra and Gaiekwad, also get along very well. They have stood by each other in difficult and controversial phases of their lives. Says Kelkar, "Keerti and I made sure that we stood by Manav and Shweta when the SMS controversy surrounded them during the shoot of Nach Baliye 2. It was a tough period as everyone was against them." Kelkar remembers a rough phase; "Manav introduced us to Buddhism. He and Shweta have always been a pillar of strength. We used to sit and chant together. It definitely helped us take a positive approach towards life." Friendly neighbours They stay in the same complex and hang out together. When Gohil decided to shift and bought another house, Kelkar followed. "I have bought a flat on the eighth floor and Manav's flat is on the fifth floor," says Kelkar. Pet peeves Gohil remarks, "Sharad and Keerti lead a very lazy lifestyle. I hate the lack of discipline in their lives. At times, I even nag them about this. I guess, then, I become less of a friend and more of a father figure." Kelkar retorts, "Yes, that's true. We are used to staying up late and watching television when we aren't shooting. But Manav and Shweta are very disciplined and keep telling us to change our lifestyle." Kelkar, in turn has many grudges against Gohil; "He has stopped lending his DVDs to me. Of late, he hasn't even attended a single party that I've thrown. But he makes it a point to attend everyone else's party. That really makes me mad."He never picks up his cell phone, when I have something urgent to tell him. Shweta and he want to sleep as early as 10 pm whenever I make plans to go out or watch a film."
