LOL!
Unresing now...
Lazy I'm yeap!

Nothing much ji, bas PM ke baare mein,

Unfortunately, I'm still not able to do P.Ms! I really dont want to rant over how poor I'm at the moment not being able to afford a proper, net, but I do P.Ms, I did before, people following from the first could be aware of this, I P.M everyone in my frnd list...
but anyway...

The main point is, I READ ALL COMMENTS HERE..!
I swear I do and I process every reaction...
I get curious how many of you are getting impatient with mystery...
I process every reaction and i do remember almost all of them, in a way that when someone re-comments on my next update, I would know what was the previous feedback from that person...

I just wish we had better ways of communicating in IF maan! like I being able to comment right below your comment as in the same box like a proper reply?
I spend half of my day here, more than half actually refreshing it all the time, catching every comment, becoz this piece of writing means a lot lot to me. I have kept many of my life's activities at hold, to only dedicate my mind to this...the faster updates should explain this.

You can guess this by the way I jump in to res or reply as soon as you ask for next update, you know what I mean?

But I remain anonymous most of the time, mainly becoz I'm online from mobile, and I cannot do as much as 'like' comment from the damn small touch piece! and so I like whenever I get a chance to update from lappy...

Sigh! Thats the story about it, I just want everyone of you, who are commenting, catching up with updates, the increasing number of likes, new readers, my dear entwinies------everyone of you to know that I'm right here all the time, just thodi majboori, hai, I'm really grateful to all your comments and feedback... and with all humbleness n honesty, I'd like to covey my sincere gratitude to each one of you... right from the bottom of my heart!!

Thank you so so much!
I love you all!!

Chapter-23:

She wrapped her arms around Sheethal causally only to be held by her all too tightly causing the submerging emotions to be surfaced, even as Khushi chuckled whilst her wet eyes briefly eyeing Arnav who was silently witnessing the exchange.

"You take care okay?"

"I will" khushi said, as they pulled away, slightly sniffing whilst smiling adoringly at her friend.

"I love you yeah?"

"I know---"

"If you want to run away, just know that your role in ESS is always open----"

They laughed out causing Arnav to chuckle in that dismissing way. Sheethal then Khushi's hand and almost grabbed her towards Arnav who was now standing at the porch of the little wooden house, which had been Khushi's very own place. "When do you leave?" she asked dropping her hand around Khushi's shoulder, as they both looked up to meet his eyes.

"Uh, drive from here to Mumbai, and a flight from there----"

"To?"

"London---"

"How long in London?"

"Whats with this interrogation weirdo?"

"I was just checking how many questions of me you would answer" she said and the three of them laughed together. "So, you do have time until your flight right?"

"So?"

"This beach, sea, waves are probably the only things which she might be missing over there, despite having a hot company-----" that earned Sheethal a slap from Khushi causing Arnav to chuckle as his eyes for a brief moment met that of Khushi's.

"Point taken Madame"

**

As he hopped on, onto the sea-shore just opposite to the restaurant, with two sealed plastic mugs of Espresso in his hand, he looked around for a while, before his eyes landed on her posture. She was standing on the shore, turned away from him, facing the waves quite expectantly, her hands were folded across her front, while her stance was calm and composed, staring away distantly into the sea. He looked on, slowing down deliberately, as he took slow steps taking his time capturing her into his eyes.

Dressed in her white floral shirt and a pair of blue full-length jeans for a change, that was however folded up to just below her knees, her hair twirling in thick strands flowing over her shoulders along with the afternoon slight wind, as she seemed lost in a different world altogether, yet her stance filled with unexplainable tranquility and peace, she looked like an epitome of calmness for Arnav. Even as the thought came across his mind, as his legs finally reached her, standing diagonally right behind her, his heart was filled with the same familiar uneasiness which he had been experiencing ever since the decision or plan was made.

Is he taking it all away from her?

He wondered, as he looked on at her serene little smile, her little world peeping into his view from behind, the little individual and independent solace that she discovered around here, the sea, the waves, the cliff, and the breeze everything of which that keeps occupying her thoughts -------his heart yet again constricted into a vague unsettlement.

His reasons were selfish, he knew it and he can't change anything about it; his logical mind here always had better explanations and reasoning, enough to surpass the irrational feeling at the part behind his chest. But why had she even agreed? To leave everything behind? Just like that? All for a challenge?

Even as his mind went on with uncertain reasons, as on cue she turned to her side, her eyes meeting his instantly, giving away that she had been long aware of his presence behind her, and all he did was offer her the coffee taking another step to stand beside her as he sipped on his own coffee, silently joining her in the little sea-staring session.

"Are we going to have these awkward I-don't-like-you silent moments now?"

He said after several moments of listening to just the juggling sound of the waves and nothing else. She turned to her side, as the afternoon sun suddenly objected her view to properly look at him and he reflexively moved to place his back to shield the warmth of the rays from hitting her face, instantly her burrowed eyebrows eased out and her hazels filled back in her face causing him to be captivated by them yet again. As the bluish white water beneath them, reflected in her hazel pools, he thought he could just drown into them as long as he can, and they could still seem mysterious to him.

"Oh, so you are in currently I-don't-like-you, mode?"

"I thought you are------" he said causing her to turned her head and meet his eyes, smiling a little.

"I like silence sometimes; I mean comfortable silence with someone----"

"Perfect with me, if comfortable is all what you are"
He said more to himself, dropping the subject instantly, and looked away convinced that she was not upset about anything although he didn't quite understand why it would make any difference to him, as going away, with her this time wasn't going to be changed, whether she liked it or not. But looking at her, it seemed like she was all the more content about it.

"I'm not that intelligent anymore Arnav, or maybe I never was---" she spoke looking into the sea, her eyes lost thoughtfully before they shifted to her side to meet his curious gaze. "Like you have always said, what was it?" she added chuckling a little.

"Uh, Nave?" he said in his unsure tone yet with a hint of teasing glint in his eyes.

"Yes, Nave, but there was one thing I was smart about back then Arnav and even you would agree on that----"

He just raised his eyebrows urging her to continue.

"Figuring you out" she simply stated and the teasing glint in his eyes, the little smirk playing at his lips and the curious look, instantly vanished away and in its place was a stony yet intent look, even as he found himself looking through her hazels yet again, trying to figure out something or rather everything.

"What are you trying to say?"

"That I might not be smart this time around to figure out the reason for the sudden mask you are wearing, but smart enough to figure out that you started wearing a mask again indeed-----"

"In case you haven't figured out already, I cannot follow your philosophy lectures! Can you for a change talk like normal human being?"

"You choose this Arnav and I'm used to speak this way, like it or not, I speak what I want to----"

"Okay, so why are coming then, if you have figured out that I'm hiding something--------"

"Are you hiding something?"

"That's what you just said, didn't you?"

"Well, so you do understand my deep thoughts, very well Arnav, I'm impressed-----"

"Oh, I can impress you all you want baby, why not for a change answer my one direct question, or rather your very own favorite question and impress me?"

Her mind was for a moment pondered over the word baby, casually uttered from his words sounding nothing close to causal and her stomach did a tiny flip-flop in that girly way, the very signs of normalcy, she sometimes dreaded about. "Huh?" she found herself uttering in a little daze as he stepped in her view even more blocking the sun from her face completely and he tugged his both hands into the front of his jeans pockets, his face bent down a little to meet the level of her eyes into and he looked on intently.

"Why?" he just asked, meaning a lot more than the three words could out across, like she would always do.

"Because I trust you"

She found her inner thoughts being voiced out effortlessly surprising her own self even as she registered the same surprise or even shock flashed across his eyes and he stood up straight, suddenly uncomfortable of the conversation looking everywhere else other than her eyes.

"Didn't really enjoy the straight forward answer, did you?"

He looked back to meet her eyes only to be met by a sudden unreadable expression. "You feel some kind of stress, pressure suddenly? Or are you yet again trying to relate to the nave girl you met all those years ago, who had given you quite a few trust lectures-----"

Although that was the last thought he had in his mind, the realization suddenly surprised him even. The Khushi he knew surely didn't have any trust issues, he was sure, but he wasn't expecting the same from her this time around at all. Definitely not when, there sure is difference between what he had communicated to her, and what his actual reasons were...

And the fact that she wants to trust, even this time around, only made it even more difficult for his inner turmoil.

& all he did was just look into her eyes with such great determination, yet confusion.

She then looked away, not wanting to try and figure out the uncertain look in his eyes and took a deliberate step away, throwing the coffee cup in her hand away vigorously, as she continued to look into the sea, silently. He fell silent too, this time around quite apprehending the comfortable silence she was talking about, despite the unsaid, unacknowledged words.

"Looking at the sea, as the waves keep juggling onto the shore...
Observing their uneven, unplanned, uncertain pattern of waves hitting the shore every now and then...

Is like looking at a rather big, deeper, never ending uncertainties of something even larger than the life and the world..
And suddenly your own insecurities and uncertainties seem much much smaller..."

He heard her say and shifted his attention back to look at her only to find her staring distantly into the sea. His gaze locked for a brief moment as he intently observed how her eye-lashes were batting evenly over her eyes, how her hair danced along with the slight breeze and how the slow serene smile made its way to adorn her lips.

"And Arnav means ocean" she simply stated looking at him, making her hair flip, the tips of which brushing his nose, as their eyes met captivating into another brief moment, before she turned around completely starting to walk away.

"Wait,...what does that mean?"

"-------And last night, you just disproved my stupid philosophy of waves and sea by turning around for once and coming back"

"Huh?"

"Because if I were to be the waves, I would never crave for an apparent shore, although roles are reserved here, but you still came back, and that's why I'm coming with you------"

"Deep----"

"Do you need more reasons?"

"If this is the way you are going to answer, no thank you, let's get going?"

He said almost jogging away to collect her packed luggage from her porch. Even as he did so, the knowing smirk did make its way onto his face, completely processing all that she said, quite oblivious to her.

She had figured out that there sure were other reasons for him to take her along, and he now knew that she knew this.

She did acknowledge his cared for her enough to get her approve of his proposal, and this he now knew it.

What left him surprised is that, she did figure out the forbidden confessions as well, and then nothing else was needed to be said, and nothing else needed to be voiced out, at least not until they sort out the mess of their own minds.

Because I trust you...

And his last thought before they drove off onto the highway was that he just hoped he lived up to this one statement, as much as he could.

**

Arnav Singh Raizada, never in his wild dreams thought he would be worried about his own driving, but with sweet torture of orchids and cloves, nearly a 2 feet distance away from him targeting his senses, even as he found himself glancing at her more than once in a while only to find her completely attuned to the view of sea towards her left on the highway, he wondered what could possible in her mind at the very moment.

But before he could ponder on that thought, he found himself ignorant to the vehicle that was trying to overtake him and within what seemed like minute fraction of moments, his car lost the control over the speed in the tiniest bit and with his skilled spontaneous control it did miss hitting the passing by car, nevertheless, not being able to control the accelerator any longer, he hit the brakes in sudden moment, the friction of tires making the required noise alerting the vicinity, and before everything could be processed, the car was halted almost at the end of the high-way road, stopping just a thread distance away from the mud road beneath.

After momentary recovery he looked to his side panic pumping in his nerves, only to find her perfectly fine, without as much as an injury but definitely was in a shocked state, or so it seemed to her, as he looked on at her arms gripping the front of the car nervously, her eyes filling her face and her stance stilled in that very statue mode.

"Khu-khushi?" He called out nervously, his one hand reaching to place over her shoulder, all too tenderly.

"If this was your plan, then what was the point of the whole take care of yourself' lecture?"

He heard her say despite her stilled stance, and he found himself releasing the deep breathe which he haven't realized how long he had been holding for. "Are you..you okay?" he wanted to check, yet again.

"You didn't tell me you are such a ridiculous driver?" she exclaimed finally looking at him, her eyes throwing nervous daggers at him, which for reasons unknown amused him. She was scared of death, good!

"I'm sorry what? I happen to be the best driver known to man-kind-----"

"Oh, spare me hero, I could drive better than you------"

"You could drive?"

"Uh, I did learn never put it into practice although I'm not very familiar to use the reverse gear, or even the break sometimes..."

What they have not been aware of, being indulged in this little verbal banter or rather had been oblivious of, was the car that tried to overtake them, which even stopped almost like them at the end of the road trying to avoid the collision, just ahead of them and also the man who got out of the car who was right now walking towards them.

He reached to the window of the driving seat, just as Khushi stepped out from the other end, fetching the bottle from behind, to drink water while catching the fresh air outside, her back leaning onto the window of her side, quite unaware of the foreign presence in their little moment.

"Hey" she heard the voice, and ignored the instant familiar churning of nerves inside her stomach, as she bent her head behind, gulping the water down, in slow steady moments.

"I'm sorry, I think you suddenly slowed down the pace, and I didn't notice, everything alright, are you guys hurt?" the stranger spoke to Arnav all too cordially and Arnav smiled, getting out of the car to acknowledge the hospitality.

"We are fine, it my mistake too, I'm sorry, is your car okay?" Arnav spoke glancing at the car that was parked a little ahead of them.

"Oh yeah, it is fine, but I guess the engine gave away, do you think you have extra water that I can use?"

"Uh, I guess we do, you have an empty bottle or something, so I can pour half of what we have to you?"

"Yes, yes, I do, uh let me get it from the car"

He said and turned around, only to be stopped by Arnav's cordial voice. "Oh and by the way, I'm Arnav, Arnav Singh Raizada-------" he said extending his hand for a shake hand.

"The ASR of advertising industry? Singer Anjhali jha? You threw a big party around here recently didn't you?" the man took his hand all too pleasingly and shook with enthusiasm.

"Yeap that's me"

"Very please to meet you Mr.ASR, I've heard a lot about you------"

"Good things I hope?"

"Ofcourse, I'm Akash, Akash Singhania, uh, let me first get my water bottle, yeah?"

Arnav nodded watching him hop towards his car, right when he heard sudden vigorous coughs from Khushi. He ran to her side, in an attempt to comfort her only to find her in the most distressed state possible. Her hands were shivering clutching onto the bottle of water, her eyes turning the familiar color of red, her breathing uneven and her glance lost into a distant, fear and trauma, quite evident in her stance------- and she continued to cough, choking even at the gulp of water she just had.

"Khushi?"

"khushi, what"whats wrong?"

"Arnav" she reached out her hand clutching onto his collar instantly and he stepped closer, caressing her back, trying to ease the coughing out. Lets...lest j...just go"

"Huh?"

"Arnav! Please!!! Let's JUST GO!" she yelled hysterically clutching his collar even more, tears pouring out of her eyes and al he could do was make her sit inside the car, walk around, hop in and look at her intently clutching himself inside the seat-belt.

"Khushi, what?"

"PLEASE!!! Take me away! Please!" she cried and his insides twisted with the familiar uneasiness.

The next moment saw the jet black Benz to suddenly speed away back into the highway, sharply cutting-by Akash Singhania who was busily shuffling through the rear of his car causing him to yelp and turn, even as a curse escaped his mouth, and he finally caught glimpse of the reason why the car sped away suddenly as his eyes landed on the side mirror of the vehicle, and the image that caught his attention continued to sped away into the distance along with car, away from the beach road, away from the highway, away from the surroundings, away from Goa, far into the distance.

"She is alive------"

I am wondering at how I am always at the right time to reserve! Dil ka connection hai kya?! Let's not get started on the telepathy! 😆

---Edited---

I loved Sheetal and Khushi's camaraderie and I'll never get tired of saying it again and again!

Seriously, how do you manage to write descriptions so beautifully? Envisaging it , it is such a beautiful scene on the fore! I've always loved the role the sea and the waves play in this marvelous piece of fiction and I can almost vision the ending scene with them walking towards the sunset by the sea, laughing, eyes full of love. . . . . . . . . . . . . . *sigh!* I am dreaming too much now, am I not?!! 😳

Although Arnav maybe feeling guilty, he is doing all of this for Khushi with a good intention. Oh dear Khushi, if only you knew Arnav wants much more than you know it!

Their conversation this time had a certain edge to it. It felt as if they were more aware of each other this time and did not drift apart. And yet they were there, uncertain but with a tinge of realization!

Trust - a big leap for Khushi, indeed!

I wouldn't blame Arnav if he had a hard time driving with Khushi beside him! After all, she was the only one who had been able to grab hold of his attention during college days!
"She was scared of death, good!" I couldn't expect more from Arnav! His
"Take care of yourself" and "What are you trying to prove" lectures to Khushi are enough evidences for that!

And now finally! Akash was the man behind it all?! The haunting past, the hysterical reactions, the fearful thumping of the heart? It was all him?! It was Akash who pushed her off the building that night! He is a character with a grey shade! As much of a hard time I am having processing it all, I am all hands to receive this mighty villain! Bring it on Dee! I might punch him black and blue right in the eye, for all you know!

The mystery is slowly revealing and I am gleaming in ecstasy!

An intriguing update, really! 👏 I love you Dee for writing such a story that has captured all our minds. Thank you so much! 🤗
