She is opaque, arrogant , headstrong , stubborn, judgmental, prejudiced , reminds her wavering heart everyday that Jalaal's good side has an ulterior motive... and then, there are these fleeting moments when the guard is off... and she lets you see that , beyond all her now-conditioned hatred and pseudo-anger , she really cares about Jalaal. Someone as proud as Jodha , apologizing for a slip of tongue that was not even intentional is a big thing - her mind was on Ghauri and the atrocities he did to Prithviraj alongwith what all India had gone through due to cruel foreign invasions- but she saw her error , realized it and read the anger on Jalaal's face- and out came a genuine apology , straight from her heart. A very very big thing. The sky never falls, otherwise. 😆

2. The beautiful cherishing expression on Jodha's face as she recalls Jalaal's " Ek baar toh Shehzaadi ne Shahenshah ke peecche baagh hi daudaa diyaa tha" - it was a lovely memory for her and she was smiling to herself. The pride and affection in her voice as she trumpets to her Mom that Jalaal was born in a Rajput house and that her in-laws know the culture pretty well. And how her face glittered when the kids were praising Jalaal.

Jodha will never let Jalaal see and she will never admit it to herself ( trust her to make some eye-roll excuse for wearing green tomorrow ) but Jalaal has made his place in her mind , and now, is making inroads into her heart. If not that, then, people smiling to themselves on flashbacks of their sworn enemies are usually sent to psychiatrists. 😳

P.S- Dear casting department, you are requested to improve the casting of Rajvanshis- a king should look like a king . And creatives, please refrain from showing the 'janaani' side of those two phuntroo Rajvanshis who are always instigating Pratap. Rajputs played dirty only in the war field or else played politics on a superior level. To sit in a game of Chaupadh and gossip and bitch about " lets neecha dikhaao the other person" or lets see MP outdo Jalaal is very very Un-Rajput. It looks more like saas-bahu planning ki aaj vamp ko khaane mein kya khilaa ke maara jaaye. 😲

good post, Vicky. u seem to catch Jodha's mood (rather her character ) so perfectly. 👏

we keep on screaming she needs to behave like a 16th century princess yet we keep on forgetting she is behaving like a 16th century princess..and just because political alliance was a common practise then ..it does not take away the cultural shock or personal trauma or the whole lot of confusion associated with it...we are simply getting an insight into one such princess's life who atleast had a spine..imagine the many princesses who never could utter a word bartered off as a prize and lost herself in a harem of women and perished as silently

Agreed. First things first. We were NOT there in 16th century to thumb it up that what was the code of conduct that royal women followed and history does not say much about them. And if she is a 16th century princess , she can't be a flawed human-being who is evolving? A human being is a human being - be it 16th or 21st century.

I paid you a compliment because there are very few people who have an open mind and an accepting heart. Rest of the world just spends their lives in judging and discarding others. Because we are never willing to wear the other person's shoes and walking a mile. 😊

Thanks Diksha. I don't think I capture anyone to perfection. But yes, I know what it is like to be flawed and yet have no malice. If you have a good heart, there is always hope that you are going to come over your shortcomings.

People need love , nurturing and tolerance. Judgment and sentencing is not our business. 😃

Thanks. I loved what Sunny said. Flawed characters need tolerance, patience and perseverance- because you know they are good people who have lost their way. You just have to believe that they will find their way back. Bashing is something that anyone can do and perhaps do.

well said. very few can be nuetral to see both the sides of the coin. many ppl see only one side which is left open, the other one facing the ground remains hidden and unseen. but one must not forget, the coin is incomplete without both sides. if it has just one side , it loses it's value.

same is with humans. here Jodha. many of us keep bashing her , we keep forgetting the main question "Why she is behaving like that?". i have read the post, saying she has got everything, a good (?) husband, royalty (being begum of Shehenshah), and so many things (i don't know what more). The main question here is , when she got married to Shehenshah - e- hind, WAS IT WHAT SHE WANTED? WAS HE SHE WANTED AS A HUSBAND? if the answer is negative, then r we right in bashing her all the time?

she too is a human. she will have both positives and negatives. why can't we accept both? why we want to see her all the time being a perfect wife, a perfect daughter, aperfect bahu and a perfect queen? is it that only she is flawed and others r perfect?

That's true.Jodha was given a life , a husband , a new home that was not in sync with her dreams. And the pre-conditioned hatred and disdain from both hers and Jalaal's side did not help , nor did the events that followed at Agra...she went through a lot of trauma and Jalaal went through a lot of mental strain. And the mind and heart are not some kind of machines that respond to data immediately. There is something known as TRANSITION in emotions and thought. Jodha is going through that and so is Jalaal , but their reactions and handling of that are different... and no, that is not a crime.

As for what people think. Caging someone in a gold cage is not the same as gilding a person's soul with gold. When Jalaal married Jodha, he gave her a gold cage... and now, he is giving her wings.
